"One of the best Real-Time Strategy games out there."

This game is similar to games in the real-time strategy genre such as Starcraft, Warcraft, and Command & Conquer. It gets really in-depth and has great graphical and historical details.

Gameplay-The controls are relatively easy, especially after taking the training campaigns. It is like Starcraft where you pretty much use the mouse the whole game. The missions can be quite hard, but if you play a lot, you can develop your own strategies for defeating the enemy. A great aspect of this game is how you gather materials. You can get food by hunting, fishing, farming, and foraging. Chop down trees for wood. Mine for stone and gold. And trade other materials to get gold as well.

Story-The storylines are great. You guide a civilization through time. If you read the little paragraphs after ending up victorious after a certain mission, you will learn a little about that civilization. The game is like a non-boring history lesson=) Each civilization will have its own objectives and enemies for its campaign, making you want to play as each one.

Audio/Video-The graphics in this game are amazing. The animals to hunt and the people are designed well, as is the scenery. There are FMVs in the game too, which are great to look at. The sounds are very clear and are made for each character. You can hear the arrows being shot at people, priests chanting, and horses neighing when you make them do something.

Replayability-This game has a lot of levels/difficulties and can be played over MSN Zone with other people. Multiplayer games can be fun since you can play with up to 6 different people. Also, there is an option that lets you set up your own Deathmatch.

Buy or rent?-Definitely buy this game. It is $25-30 and work every cent. However the sequel is coming out soon, so I'd suggest you buy that instead if you don't have a lot of money to spend.
