Preliminary notes:
1. In this game, secrets are called 'tertiary objectives.' Unlike primary
or secondary objectives, they will show up on your EVA display only after
you have completed them.
2. Sometimes, if you complete an objective out of sequence (i.e., not
according to the game developers' master plan), it will not register at
all.
3. The notes that appear below, under each mission, attempt to list the
two cases just mentioned and a couple of other things I've found worth
mentioning. One last thing: For the most part, primary and secondary
objectives are communicated to you well in advance. However, some
secondary ones are announced as soon as you complete them.

MISSION 1: THE SCORPION HUNTERS
No announced objectives

MISSION 2: RESCUE AND RETRIBUTION
Primary objectives:
1. Locate Detention Center
2. Access Communications Mainframe
3. Disable SAM Site
4. Open Detention Center
Secondary objectives:
1. Rescue Prisoners
2. Contact GDI Commander
3. Eliminate Nod Officer
4. Destroy Nod Turrets
5. Rescue Clergy
6. Disable Hand of Nod

Notes:
1. It is possible to eliminate the Nod officer referred to in Secondary #3
early, when you are still on the beach. If you go to the locked gate
located on the opposite side from your starting point, you can shoot him
with the sniper rifle that you should have acquired by now. In this case,
Secondary #3 will not appear on your EVA display.
2. Primary #3 refers to the SAM site near the communications center that
you should enter to complete Primary #2. It will show up as an objective
only if you go inside the communications center without destroying the SAM
first. Then, after you hack the mainframe, you will be told that
extraction is not possible until the SAM is destroyed. Now you can go
outside and destroy it.

MISSION 3: ARMORED ASSAULT
Primary objectives:
1. Locate Missing Scientists
2. Disable Dam Master Control Terminal
3. Infiltrate Cargo Plane
Secondary objectives:
1. Disable Helipad
2. Secure Guard Tower
3. Secure First House
4. Secure Second House
5. Secure Third House
6. Acquire Mammoth Tank
7. Disable First SAM Site
8. Destroy Nod Convoy
9. Secure Ski Resort
10. Disable Second SAM Site
11. Disable Third SAM Site
12. Disable Fourth SAM Site
13. Disable Power Plant
14. Disable Obelisk
15. Destroy Tiberium Machine Alpha
16. Destroy Tiberium Machine Beta
17. Destroy Tiberium Machine Gamma
18. Disable Hand of Nod
Tertiary objectives:
1. Disable Airstrip
2. Destroy Tiberium Silos

Note: To complete the tertiary objectives: At the end of the mission, when
you seem to be all done, don't go near the cargo plane just yet. The
tertiary targets are right there, on the airfield. The airstrip can be
disabled either by just blasting it or by going inside the control tower
and destroying the master control terminal (MCT) there. The tiberium silos
are best destroyed by deploying an ion cannon beacon, if you have one. If
you don't, it will take some time to do away with them with your ordinary
weapons.

MISSION 4: THE PLOT ERUPTS
Primary objectives:
1. Locate Communications Center
2. Hack Communications Mainframe
3. Acquire Security Card
4. Escape via Submarine
Secondary objectives:
1. Secure Beachhead
2. Disable Lower SAM Sites
3. Disable Upper SAM Sites
Tertiary objectives:
1. Destroy Defense Cannon
2. Disable Communications Center
3. Disable Power Plant
4. Disable Tiberium Refinery

Notes:
1. Tertiary #1 is not at all self-evident. The shore defense cannon is at
the same location as the upper SAM sites, and the trick is to destroy the
cannon (large turret) before the SAMs (smaller turrets). If you destroy
the SAM sites first, that will allow GDI gunships to eliminate the cannon
and you won't get the credit for it.
2. Since your Primary #2 is to hack the communications mainframe, you go
to the communications center first. You learn that a security card is
needed, and shortly thereafter, Gen. Locke informs you that a Nod officer,
who might be carrying such a card, has been spotted inside the Tiberium
refinery. Primary #3 gets added to your EVA display. However, if, after
entering the Nod compound, you head straight to the refinery for the card
and only then go to the com center, that objective won't show up.
3. Tertiaries ##2-4 refer to the buildings located inside the Nod
compound. Disabling them is best achieved by destroying the MCTs (master
control terminals) inside them. But you can resort to just shooting at the
buildings.

MISSION 5: STOWAWAY
Primary objectives:
1. Rescue Prisoners
2. Acquire Deck Security Card
3. Sabotage Missile Racks
4. Acquire Prison Security Card
5. Acquire Submarine Security Card
6. Sabotage Torpedo Racks
7. Protect Prisoners
Secondary objectives:
1. Disable Critical Engine Areas
2. Destroy Apache

Notes: Primary #4 will only show up as an objective if you go to the third
floor after completing Secondary #1 (you see the prisoners there for the
first time but do not have the security card to release them) and talk to
the prisoners. If you don't talk to the prisoners or if you don't visit
that place at all and stumble upon the prisoners for the first time after
you obtain the card (the now-accessible door near the cell leads to the
room you could have visited earlier), you release them without Primary #4
popping up on the EVA display.

MISSION 6: DEADLY REUNION
Primary objectives:
1. Locate Hotwire
2. Contact Gunner
3. Locate Deadeye
4. Locate Patch
5. Eliminate Black Hand
Secondary objectives:
1. Secure Town Square
2. Escort Resistance
3. Contact Escapee
4. Eliminate Engineers
5. Rescue Babushka

Note:
1. If you don't want to fail Secondary #2, go past the Resistance safe
house first and deal with the immediate Nod presence. Then return to the
house and 'speak' to the Resistance members. When they start moving, more
enemies will be spawned, but at least you have cleared what you could in
advance.
2. To complete Secondary #4 more easily, it's probably wise to complete
Secondary #3 first (although the escapee is located further down the
street). After you talk to the escapee's brother, you will obtain a
powerful weapon. Now you can return to the booth overlooking the obelisk
and use the weapon to quickly dispose of the heavier opponents, such as
the helicopter. Then switch to the sniper rifle and concentrate on the
engineers without being distracted.

MISSION 7: THE GRIP OF THE BLACK HAND
Primary objectives:
1. Access War Room Computer
2. Evacuate Scientists
3. Escort Sydney
4. Eliminate Mendoza
Secondary objective:
1. Disable Alarm
Tertiary objectives:
1. Rescue Resistance
2. Infiltrate Secret Cache
3. Rescue Prisoner

Notes:
1. Tertiary #1 is achieved by finding a resistance fighter in one of the
sheds in the courtyard with the Raveshaw statue and releasing her. The
objective registers when she runs away. However, sometimes she may get
stuck, in which case she will keep thanking you and spawning health power-
ups each time you try to make her go.
2. To complete Tertiary #2, go to the second floor of the Raveshaw chateau
and find a library. Search the bookcases there and, when a telltale
bracket appears, press the Use key.
3. Tertiary #3 is rather obvious. When you find a GDI soldier in the
underground cells, talk to him.

MISSION 8: OBELISK OF OPPRESSION
Primary objectives:
1. Protect Team Members
2. Evacuate Sydney
3. Escape Nuclear Strike
4. Escort Hotwire to SAM Sites
5. Destroy SSM Launchers
Secondary objectives:
1. Destroy Radar Installations
2. Rescue Resistance
3. Destroy Napalm Stockpile
4: Disable Obelisk
5: Destroy Stealth Tank

Notes:
1. Secondaries ## 4-5 get completed at the end of the mission. Don't
destroy the SSM launchers (the trucks by the obelisk) before you complete
those objectives: the mission fades into the ending sequence right after
the launchers are destroyed. The stealth tank should appear before you get
inside the obelisk's firing range. Eliminate it and go to Note 2 below.
2. Since you start your next mission in prison, without any weapons, you
might as well use the tactical nuke you obtain (near the point where you
complete Secondary #2) in this level. The obelisk seems a natural choice.
If you have a tank with respectable armor/health on it, use it to drive up
to the obelisk and position it so you can make a quick escape back towards
the village. Then set up the nuke, hop into the tank and drive, but not
very far away. Turn about to watch the mushroom cloud. If you don't have
the nuke or the tank, you are probably better off just shooting at the
obelisk from a distance.

MISSION 9: EVOLUTION OF EVIL
Primary objectives:
1. Escape Prison
2. Infiltrate Research Facility
3. Rescue Scientists
4. Eliminate Raveshaw
Secondary objectives:
1. Disable Helipad
2. Disable Station Alpha
3. Disable Station Beta
Tertiary objectives:
1. Disable Excavation
2. Disable Cultivation Center

Notes:
1. To complete Tertiary #1: After you leave the prison compound and go
through the blue underground tunnel, turn right and proceed to the start
of the ledge that slopes up. Go up the ledge and make a left at the
intersection. Then turn left into the narrow passage. Destroying the
harvester completes the objective. Check inside the ruins for useful
stuff.
2. I find it difficult to describe the exact location of the cultivation
center in Tertiary #2. It is in one of the rooms inside the research
facility, before you go too deep underground. You just stumble upon a room
with an MCT (master control terminal). Destroy the MCT to register the
objective.

MISSION 10: ALL BRAINS, NO BRAWN
Primary objectives:
1. Protect Mobius
2. Acquire Power Suit
3. Escort Mobius to Surface
4. Escort Mobius to GDI
Tertiary objective:
1. Eliminate Nod Resistance

Note: Tertiary #1 gets completed at the end of the mission, when you and
Mobius get to the surface. I don't see how it is possible not to complete
it: if you don't kill all the Nod soldiers there, they kill either you or
Mobius. Mission failed. In other words, this objective gets completed more
or less automatically; you just keep on shooting as you have been doing
throughout the game.

MISSION 11: TOMORROW'S TECHNOLOGY TODAY
Primary objectives:
1. Sabotage Temple of Nod
2. Access Southeastern Gate
3. Acquire Base Security Card
4. Disable Power Plant
5. Access Northwestern Gate
6. Disable Construction Yard
7. Disable Communications Center
8. Access Northeastern Gate
Secondary objectives:
1. Disable Southern SAM Site
2. Disable Hand of Nod
3. Disable Tiberium Refinery
4. Disable Eastern SAM Site
5. Disable Western Helipad
6. Disable Western SAM Sites
7. Disable Tiberium Silos
8. Destroy Turrets
9. Disable Northern Helipad
Tertiary objectives:
1. Disable Obelisk
2. Infiltrate Spacecraft

Notes:
1. Tertiary #1 is hard to miss: the obelisk is located opposite the
temple.
2. The downed flying saucer is also hard to miss, but it is locked when
you first encounter it. It gets accessible after you acquire the
appropriate security card. I am not sure when this happens, probably
somewhere between Primary #4 and Primary #5. Anyway, just don't forget to
visit the saucer before you call the ion cannon strike against the temple.

MISSION 12: STOMPING ON HOLY GROUND
Primary objectives:
1. Rescue Sydney
2. Infiltrate Temple Bunker
3. Infiltrate Temple Power Core
4. Escort Sydney
5. Sabotage Nuclear Missile

Notes:
1. When you are in the Templar lab (the place filled with souped-up
mutants, after which you go underground and through the tunnels filled
with less formidable mutants), you can dispose of those mutants who are
still in holding tubes by "using" the two desk consoles located on the
lower level of the lab. This may be tough to achieve since there are
plenty of freed mutants in the lab. But it can be satisfying to make use
of something that was meant to be interactive by the game developers.
2. If you have trouble keeping Sydney alive, take one of the previous
saves. When you have killed Petrova, don't release Sydney yet. Follow the
path that Sydney would take and eliminate whatever Nod resistance you'll
encounter. Then return to Sydney and release her.
