What is the point of Quentin and the group of thugs?

North on the map, just west of where you start the game and just east of where you slay the troll with Deigo on the artifact quest, you encounter a camp. Quentin and a group of 6-8 thugs just hanging there. Whenever, I approach them they attack me, even when I am playing as Rouge or Mercenary.

Could someone please explain to me what the point of Quentin is and if this pertains of any quest?

Quentin and his gang are part of the raiders that attack convoys from the Old Camp. It is believed that there was supposed to be a quest concerning them and the raids, but the quest never made it into the game. So yeah, there isn't really any point to them.
