Age of Mythology is probably one of the best RTS games of all time. It boasted tons of new content, great graphics, and traditional gameplay. Now, we have the Titans Expansion.
Age of Mythology used the same traditional gameplay as most RTS games, the expansion follows that path as well. You know, build up a base, train an army, and attack the other player. This game uses most of the same features as other RTS games, but it also adds a new element. You can now make Titans. Titans are huge lumbering giants with great attack, defense, and a whole lot of hit points. They are pretty hard to take down, but they can be killed. There is also a new civilization, the atlanteans. They resemble the Greeks but have their own units and buildings. The gameplay overall is average.
The graphics in this game are very impressive. The special effects and motion are detailed and are displayed accurately. The detail is certainly impressive as well. The shadows and lighting effects are also good. The only problem is theirs no really noticeable graphical update from the original game. Overall the graphics are very impressive for an RTS, but they still could have been better.
The new music is great. Its mostly performed by symphonies and orchestras, but their is some vocal music as well. The games sound effects are great as well. The clashing of swords is the same as in Age of Empires II, which is a down slide. Unit responses are clear and well performed. Just as in the original all units speak the language of their native home land.
This game has lots playtime. With a campaign oof 15 levels, or the original one with 30, this game can take a while to beat. The single player mode is also addictive. This game will run perfect as long as you have a moderately good gaming computer. It offers tweaks as well just in case you don't have the best computer.
Final Recommendation: Buy it. Its worth the new stuff.
