1. SPOILER-FREE WALKTHROUGH



[Lakeside Amusement Park Dream]
Keep advancing on the pretty much straight forward path. Once you reach the
end of the roller coaster rails you'll clear the area.
You'll also clear the area if Heather dies. So if you just want to skip the
wandering around, let Heather be killed by a monster or fall into a pit.
(In Action Level Easy, Heather can't fall into pits, so just let monsters
kill her.)
There's a shop along the way with nothing in it.
Similar to the beginning of Silent Hill 1, you will only experience this
area on your very first playthrough of the game.

[Central Square Shopping Center]

Save Point on the restroom mirror.
Exit the restroom through the window.
Go toward Heather's right, and enter the door along the path.
After game clear, in Extra New Game, if you earned it, the Infinite
Submachine Gun is at the dead end toward Heather's left.
Enter the store with a light coming out of it, the Boutique.
Receive Handgun after the event.
Take the Handgun Bullets on the display bench and exit through the door
behind the counter.
Retrieve the Shopping Mall Map from the bulletin board, then go through the
nearby door with the words "EXIT" written on it to head toward 2F.
Go into Helen's Bakery to retrieve the Tongs.
After game clear, in Extra New Game, if you earned it, the Flamethrower is
on the counter.
Go into the map top slanted storage room with the Save Point and retrieve
the Key Taken With Tongs.
After game clear, in Extra New Game, if you earned it, the Beam Saber is on
the door to the West of this room.
Use this newly acquired key on the door of My Bestsellers and enter the
bookstore.
Solve the puzzle and unlock the door at the back of the bookstore to exit.
After the event, ride the elevator back down to 1F.
Receive Radio in the elevator.
After the event upon exiting the elevator, Heather will be in the Otherside
Central Square Shopping Center.


[Central Square Shopping Center (Otherside)]

Save Point in the room across from the bottom left men's restroom.
Flashlight in the storage room to the left of the top left women's restroom.
Bleach in the top left women's restroom. (Riddle Level Normal and above
only.)
If there is a Silent Hill 2 save file in the inserted memory card, there is
a special event in one of the dirty toilets.
Hanger and Bulletproof Vest in the boutique.
Go to the bottom left room of the top left area of the shopping center to
use the Hanger to go up the ladder to 2F.
Save Point at the deep end of the television store.
Go up the escalator to 3F.
Enter the restaurant to the right of the escalator.
Take the Cooked Key from the appetizing dish on the table.
Exit the restaurant and go back down the escalator to 2F.
Walnut in the room to the right of the Save Point. Exit the room through the
back.
Use the key on the door to the far right side and enter the Cafe.
Take the Steel Pipe from the wall with the leaking steam and exit the Cafe
through the front door.
Find and enter the Bakery.
Detergent in the back of the Bakery. (Riddle Level Normal and above only.)
Exit the Bakery through the back door.
Turn off the big fan in the passage.
In the next passage combine and use the Bleach and the Detergent.
Return to the previous passage and turn the big fan back on.
Head for the big hall to the North, and enter the only other shop that's
accessible, the Sports Shop.
Use the Walnut on the Vise and get the Moonstone within.
Save Point in that room.
Go all the way back to the escalators, and go once again up to 3F.
Use the Moonstone on the door to the North.
Go down the long ladders at the center of the area.
Boss battle at the bottom of the ladders.
The shopping center returns to normal after the boss battle.
Head for the Subway.

[Hazel Street Subway Station]

Go downward to B1.
Get the Subway Map from the wall of the ticket booth after passing through
the ticket check machines.
Go downward to B2.
Head for the Northern Platform 1 stairs and go down to the B3 platform.
Cross the metal grating floor to Platform 2, and go down the Southern stairs
to retrieve the Nutcracker.
Go back up and cross the metal grating floor back to Platform 1.
Go back up the stairs you came down from back to B2.
Head for the Southern Platform 2, and use the Nutcracker on the chained
gate.
Go down the stairs to B3 Platform 2.
Get the Shotgun and Shotgun Shells from inside the parked subway train.
Go downward again to B4.
Go down yet another set of stairs, to B5 Platform 3.
Get down to the tracks and inspect the red glowing door (right of map), then
immediately return back onto the platform to avoid the coming train (ignore
the dogs).
After the train stops, go all the way to the far left platform to get on the
train. (You will need to unlock a gate and go up then back down some stairs
to get there.)


[Subway Train]

Save Point on the floor right in front of Heather.
Keep going forward.
Once you reach the front car, the train will stop.
Get off the train.

[Underground Passage - Underpass]

Save Point on the wall right in front of Heather.
Exit through the door and go down the stairs.
At the bottom of the stairs, turn right, go straight and through the door
ahead.
Turn left, then go through the door on the right.
Go straight, at the intersection go through the door on the right.
Go straight, turn left when you see a left turn, and go through the door
ahead.
In this room are the Underpass Map on the bulletin board and the Maul beside
it.
Exit through the door opposite the one you entered from.
Go to the second horizontal passage from the bottom left of map for a Wine
Bottle.
Then go all the way to the two connected square rooms at the right side of
the map.
Go to the bottom square room first for a Save Point and some kerosene to put
in the Wine Bottle so you'll have an Oil-filled Bottle.
Go to the top square room next.
Use the Oil-filled Bottle to put kerosene into the fuel tank of the machine,
then push the on switch to activate the hoist mechanism.
Go down the ladders.


[Sewer]

Go to the bottom left square room and get the Dryer.
Go to the square room near the center of the map, there's a Save Point in
there.
In the room to the right, plug the Dryer on the electrical outlet next to
the door.
After game clear, in Extra New Game, press O at the edge of the water and
you will be given the choice to throw your Steel Pipe into the water. If you
choose to do so, an event will begin. Answer honestly (no, no, yes) and
you'll get the Silver Pipe and Gold Pipe in return.
If you answer dishonestly, you won't even get the Steel Pipe back.
Go to the dead end of the horizontal passage at the bottom of the map.
There's a door there, go through it.
Go all the way to the other end and into the next room, then climb up the
ladder at the top of the staircase.

[Construction Site Building]

Save Point at the other end of the path.
Go through the entrance of the building.
Go through the door at the end into the staircase.
Go all the way up to 5F and enter the door.
Go in the door at the end.
Break the discolored wall with one of the stick weapons and get a Silencer
for your handgun.
Throw the mattress down the hole then jump in after it to 3F.
Go out through the hole in the wall.
Go to Heather's left and enter the window of the adjacent building at the
end of the scaffold.


[Hilltop Center Office Building]

Exit the room.
Enter the door beside the red light.
Enter the door all the way straight ahead.
Enter the door in front of Heather.
In this room are a Save Point and the Office Building Map.
There are some Rope in the table drawer in front of the save point. (Riddle
Level Easy only.)
Get out of this floor through the door with the "EXIT" sign at the North of
the map.
Go up the stairs to 5F.
Get Driver from the Northeast passage. (Riddle Level Normal and above.)
Katana in the small rectangular room above the square Eastern room.
Jack in the Western room.
Go back down to 3F.
Use the Driver on the desk in front of the save point to get the Rope.
(Riddle Level Normal and above.)
Use the Jack and then the Rope on the left elevator with slightly opened
doors.
Climb down the rope to 2F.
Save Point on the vending machine.
Go to the Western room, then up to the Northwest corner room.
Turn the faucet of the out-of-place bathtub.


[Hilltop Center Office Building (Otherside)]

Go to the Northwestern L shaped passage for a Save Point and a photograph.
Then go through the door to the North.
Event upon entering this room.
After the event, get Oxydol from the shelf left of Heather.
Go out into the hall and ride the right elevator down to 1F.
Get Pork Liver from the fridge in the Northeast room.
Ride the elevator to 5F.
Read Fairy Tale, Beginning on the floor in front of the North passage.
(Optional.)
Get Matchbook from the Southwest corner room.
Go to the big rectangular art gallery room at the Northeast of map.
There's a Save Point on the wall.
In the bucket in front of the big painting, combine and use the Oxydol, Pork
Liver, and Matchbook to reveal the hidden door to the next room.
Go down the stairs to 4F.
Read Fairy Tale, Continued on the table. (Optional.)
Go to the Northwest corner room.
Get a Silver Coin from the table.
Use the coin on the vending machine in the corner of the room to get the
Life Insurance Key.
Ride the elevator down to 1F.
Use the Life Insurance Key on the Western door.
Go to the room under the Women's Restroom.
Read Fairy Tale, Last Part on the table.
Go out the Northern door out of the office building.
Go into the narrow path left of Heather and enter the door at the end.


[Daisy Villa Apartment]

Save Point in the hallway.
Enter room 102.
Event, followed by a boss battle, followed by some more event.
Stun Gun and Stun Gun Batteries in the dresser in Heather's room.
Exit the apartment building through the main gate to the left of the Save
Point.

[Silent Hill Brookhaven Hospital]

Exit Jack's Inn room 106 and head for the Brookhaven Hospital marked on the
map.
Upon entering the hospital, there's a Save Point and Hospital Map in the
room in front of Heather.
Ride the elevator up to 2F.
Nail Polish Remover and Perfume in the locker in the Women's Locker Room.
Solve the puzzle on the Western door and enter, using the hints on the
bulletin board to the side.
Go into room M4, open the attach case, get the Instant Camera.
Ride the elevator back down to 1F.
Go to room C4, use the Nail Polish Remover on the wall with stuff sticking
on it, get the Stairwell Key.
Use the key to get into the stairwell, and go down to B1.
Pick up the Submachine Gun Bullets and Submachine Gun off the floor.
Enter the bottom Store Room.
Use the Instant Camera behind the shelf to get an instant photo with a
random code.
Go back up the stairs to 3F.
Save Point in the Store Room.
Use the instant photo random code on the Western door.
Enter room S12, pick up the phone.
Go down to 2F.
Go to the west end of the floor, enter the door there and follow the path
all the way, inspect the red sign at the end, advance some more, then climb
up the ladder to 3F.


[Brookhaven Hospital (Otherside)]

Save Point in room S3.
Go through the Day Room to the Store Room for a happening.
Heather will get hurt during this happening. Once the Heather in the mirror
stops moving, get out of the room.
Ride the elevator down to B3, the crematorium.
Solve the puzzle and get the Cremated Key.
Ride the elevator up to 2F.
Get Plastic Bag from the garbage can in the Women's Locker Room.
Pick up the phone in the Men's Locker Room.
Ride the elevator up to 3F.
In Examining Room 4, use the Plastic Bag in front of the bucket to get a
Plastic Bag (with Blood).
Ride the elevator down to 1F.
Save Point in the Examination Room.
Cross through the Day Room to get to room C4.
There's a Save Point in room C4.
Use the Plastic Bag (with Blood) in front of the altar.
Go down the ladder that appears.
Boss battle at the bottom of the ladders.
The hospital returns to normal after the boss battle.
Receive Talisman.
Leave the hospital.
Head back to Jack's Inn, room 106.

[Lakeside Amusement Park]

After the event in the motel room, head Northwest on Nathan Avenue and enter
the amusement park.
Go to Heather's front left corner, go through the door.
Go to Heather's right, go through the lighted door.
There's a Save Point in this room, together with the Roller Coaster Key.
Exit and continue going until you come once again to the roller coaster
entrance at the top of the staircase.
Enter the small roller coaster office using the Roller Coaster Key and press
the lighted button.
Go out onto the roller coaster rails and keep going.
After the event, go into the big lighted door.
There's a Save Point on the little shed.
Enter the haunted house and keep going on the one way path.
Upon entering a room with rusty iron bars as its walls, walk while holding
the R2 button the entire time, or else you'll be killed by spikes that fall
from the ceiling. (Action Level Hard and above only. In Action Level Normal
and below, just walk or run normally.)
Once you exit the room with the spike ceiling, start running, because if the
red fog catches up with Heather, it's an instant death. You will be in the
clear after running past two hallway rooms.
Keep going past the narrow path to the next area with the Swing Rocket ride.
Go through the brown gates toward Heather's left.
Keep going past the gate to the left of the bunny mascot.
Red Shoe on the performance stage, and Chain on one of the audience benches.
Return to the area with the Swing Rocket ride.
Use the Chain on the green rusted gates and on the handle of the center
column of the Swing Rocket ride.
Then turn on the switch in the control booth and the green rusted gate will
open.
Go through it.
After the event, go through the gate ahead.
Go through the door to the right.
Save Point in this room.
Douglas's Notebook on a chair.
Doll Head on the table.
Exit this fortune telling house.
Go into the wooden door to Heather's right.
Use the Red Shoe on Cinderella and use the Doll Head on Snow White.
Advance and go through the door to the left.
Go through the iron door.
Heather's Dad's Memo on the counter of the ice cream store.
Go through the iron gates to the bottom left of the ice cream store.
Go up to the Happy Carousel.
Read the memo on the horse that's not moving.
Kill all 12 horses of the carousel within a certain time limit to avoid
certain death. (Katana recommended.)
Boss battle (x4) after the event.
Examine the blood on the ground after the battle for the Alessa Memo.
Get off the carousel and into the narrow passage, past the door, then up the
stairs and out the Door to Paradise.

[Church (Upper Level)]

Save Point on the book on the alter.
"Eye of Night" Tarot Card on the table in front of the stained glass window.
Go out the door to the right of the alter.
Church Map on the wall to the side of the door.
Confession Booth across from the map.
Go through the door at the end of the hallway, through the big rectangular
room out the other door, and into the next hallway.
Through the bottom right door is a small square room with a Cassette Tape.
Through the top right door is a hallway shaped like a 7.
Go through the door at the top left of the hallway for a Save Point.
At the turn of the hallway is a painting of an angel. Move the painting to
reveal a door. Go through it.
Go past the hallway into the next area, a big hole.
Go through the bottom right door to retrive the "Moon" Tarot Card.
Then get into the small square elevator to go down to the lower level of the
church.


[Church (Lower Level)]

Go out the top left door.
Go through the door directly in front of Heather to get a "Hanged Man" Tarot
Card.
Then return to the big hole.
Go through the second door from the bottom right.
Go through the door at the bottom left.
Go through the first door you meet on Heather's left side.
Go through the door at the other end of the big rectangular room.
Go down the long hallway, at the point where the camera angle changes,
examing the wall where the footsteps lead to to discover a hidden passage.
Go through the door at the end.
Inside the book on the chair is a "Fool" Tarot Card.
Go all the way back to the hallway before the big rectangular room.
Go through the door at the bottom left end this time.
Save Point on the shelf.
Brass Key on the wall together with a framed butterfly.
Drawing Block Sketchbook on the bed.
Return all the way back to the big hole to ride the elevator back up to the
upper level of the church.


[Church (Upper Level)]

Go all the way back to the hallway with the Confession Booth.
Use the Brass Key on the door at the bottom right of that hallway to go
through it.
At the bottom of this hallway are three doors.
Go through the top left door to use the Cassette Tape on the tape deck.
Go through the bottom left door to retrieve the "Priestess" Tarot Card.
Go all the way back to the little bedroom with the save point at the lower
level of the church.


[Church (Lower Level)]

In the little bedroom with a Save Point, use the five tarot cards on the
bottom door according to the picture in the Sketchbook on the bed.
Go all the way to the other end of the path.
Go through the big doors.
After the event, use Heather's Pendant.
(If you don't use the pendant within a certain period of time, or if you
attack Claudia, it will result in a Game Over.)
After the event, jump down the hole.
Final Boss Battle.

[Central Square Shopping Center - My Bestsellers Bookstore]

Easy
The passnumber is random.
Put the Shakespeare Anthologies I and III back onto the shelf they fell from
in their anthological order to get the passnumber.

The passnumber is random.
Arrange the five Shakespeare Anthologies out of their anthological order to
try to assemble a readable four digit passnumber.

[Normal Weapons]

Possess initially.

Central Square Shopping Center, 1F Boutique, receive automatically after an
event.

Steel Pipe
Central Square Shopping Center (Otherside), 2F Cafe, in the form of a broken
off pipe attached to the wall.

Shotgun
Subway Station, Southern Platform 2, in the parked subway train.

Maul
Underground Passage, in the locker room with the map.

Katana
Hilltop Center Office Building, 5F, in the rectangular storage room above
the square Eastern room.

Stun Gun
Daisy Villa Apartment, dresser in Heather's room.

Submachine Gun
Brookhaven Hospital, B1, on the floor.

Silencer
Construction Site building, 5F, inside the discolored wall.
It will decrease noise made by the handgun or the submaching gun, but it
weakens the power of the gun at the same time.

Bulletproof Vest
Central Square Shopping Center (Otherside), 1F Boutique.
It will decrease damage received from enemies, but it is heavy and will slow
down Heather's running speed.

[Hidden Weapons]

Flamethrower
Clear the game having killed more enemies by shooting than fighting.
Pick it up on the counter in Helen's Bakery in Extra New Game.
If this weapon is not unlocked after the first game clear, it will be
unlocked automatically after the second game clear. (Re-using save file from
the first game acceptable.)

Beam Saber
Clear the game having killed more enemies by fighting than shooting.
In Extra New Game, pick it up in the shopping center 2F, on the door to the
West of the room with the save point and the Key Taken With Tongs.
If this weapon is not unlocked after the first game clear, it will be
unlocked automatically after the second game clear. (Re-using save file from
the first game acceptable.)

Infinite Submachine Gun
Clear the game by killing the final boss with a non-shooting weapon.
In Extra New Game, pick it up after climbing out the women's restroom window
after the first save point, it is at the dead end on Heather's left.

Silver Pipe & Gold Pipe
In Extra New Game, throw the Steel Pipe into the sewer pond with the monster
you kill with the Dryer, and answer the three questions - No, No, Yes.

Heather Beam / Sexy Beam
Accumulate a total of 333 enemy kills. (Accumulate in one playthrough or
multiple playthroughs. Boss enemies included.)
Once unlocked, this weapon will automatically be in the inventory in the
next game.
The Heather Beam turns into the Sexy Beam when you have the Transform
Costume equipped.

4. ENDINGS



[Normal Ending]
Clear the game killing less than 100 enemies.
The default ending of the first playthrough.


[Possess Ending]
Play in Extra New Game.
Clear the game killing more than 100 enemies.
Forgive the person in the Church.
Receive over 1000 points of damage.
This ending can not be achieved on the first playthrough.


[Revenge (UFO) Ending]
Play in Extra New Game.
Kill more than 30 enemies with the Sexy Beam before reaching Heather's
Apartment.
This ending can not be achieved on the first playthrough.

[Douglas' Secret Costume]

Move the cursor to "Extra New Game", and enter the Konami code - up, up,
down, down, left, right, left, right, X, O.
If you hear Heather make a noise when you start the new game, you have
entered the code successfully.
In the new game, Douglas will be wearing only his coat, tie, and underpants.

[Silent Hill 2 Poster]

In the Shopping Center, after exiting the boutique, down the hall between 2
locked doors is a poster of Silent Hill 2 on the wall. You can't examine it,
but you can zoom into it for a closer look.
It's a poster of Angela with the words "Silent Hill 2" written on it, which
was used in real life game stores during the release of Silent Hill 2 the
game.
