"It may be old but its a great game."

This game won a couple of awards so you know it must be good but may not appeal to everyone, especially in this day of better technology and video gaming. I played this game back somewhere in 1994 or 1995, but in the year 2003 I decided I wanted to play another round of it. I knew that the game was on a floppy disk and broke. So I turned to the internet to hopefully find a full version to download. I did. Its still a great game to this day.

Graphics: 8/10

The backgrounds are nicely done, and colorful. The monks, and your Lode Runner guy run smoothly. There is also plenty of variety to keep the game interesting. I just wish it was kind of bigger, but that would mean it would have to side scroll.

Gameplay: 8/10

The monks are freaking stupid. But back in the day I guess they couldnt afford or didnt have decent AI. You move your lode runner guy around to gain all the gold, thus opening a door, or locked door, to go on to the next level. Pretty simple but it works becuase the games levels are build like a puzzle, and you have to worry about flesh tearing monks. You will have to think fast to get through all 150 levels for single player. Two player is quite interesting, but only has about 25-30 levels. Which was why I took 2 points off. Two player DEFINETLY make this game a blast to play. Fortunatly, the game comes with a map builder. Its EASY to use. Any moron could get this thing going. Just build it, and play it, you can also add more levels in sequence, so when you beat one level you go straight on to the next one you made, just like the real game. But there is something a little off, and thats PLAYING your own levels. Only becuase you KNOW what to do. So its best to have a friend play them.

Music: 8/10

Not ALL of the music is great, but it atmosperic. I just kind of wish more of them were upbeat. Nothing here to rave or rant about.

Sound: 5/10

Meh its pretty average. Im just trying to figure out why he makes a WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH! when he jumps from a high place. The grunts they make when they go into a wall is a loud AH! AH! AH! its quite annoying.

Story/objective

Get gold, move to next level.

Overall: 8

Play this game or at least TRY it. But goodluck finding it, I only find ONE site that had it, and I looked for hours.
