Battlefield 2
Review by MafiaReborn
"The best PC game created!"
Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield Vietnam were great experiences and revolutionary because you could use vehicles, jets, tank or walk by foot. Now, Battlefield 2 takes you into modern warfare with 3 armies to choose from (China, Middle Eastern Coalition, and the United States of America).
Single Player: 9/10
This game is based on online play, but DICE was nice enough to include a single player mode. Singleplayer is exactly the same as online except with bots. The bots are extremely smart and work as a team to capture locations and kill enemies. Your team will listen to you orders almost every time. The A.I. is extremely smart and are not stupid like in 1942 or Vietnam. The only bad part about single player is that the limit of players is 16 players for every map.
Online: 9/10
This is what everybody loves about the Battlefield series, which is the online play. Yes, just like the predecessors you fight like hell to win the round by capturing as many locations as possible and fight until the enemy's tickets run out. Except, now you fight like hell to earn medals and points that go towards your rank. Four out of the five kits have jobs that you can do to earn more points instead of just killing people all the time. You can heal, repair, blow up enemy assets, and re-supply allies with ammo to earn points. The ranking system is extremely large and it takes a while to go up ranks. You can now be a commander and scan the map for enemies, order artillery strike on an area, direct a UAV flight over an area, or send a supply drop. Or you can take on the role of being a squad leader and have people join your squad and sweep areas for enemies or capture locations. Your squad leader also acts like a spawn point too until he is killed and re-spawns again. You can also unlock weapons that are better than the weapons in the standard kit. People don't team kill anymore because DICE is very harsh with Team killer's now. You can lose up to a total of eight points per team kill, which can tarnish your point earnings, every round. In Battlefield 2, every weapon and vehicle is balanced. You could have a strong and accurate weapon like the G3 but it only has 20 bullets and shoots really fast. So, no one weapon is overpowered.
Graphics: 10/10
The graphics in the game are amazing. You can see the grass swaying back and forth, you can see the expression on your allies and foes faces, and you can even see the very fine detail of the gun. The water in this game is also an amazing sight. The graphics in this game are extremely realistic. The lighting and shading is amazing in this game. When, your out in the sun the light reflects off your uniform and your gun. It also a nice sight to see the light gleaming off a jet or tank driving or flying by you.
Sound: 10/10
The sound in this game is amazing and very realistic. You can hear the gunshots whizzing past your head, artillery strikes landing near you or on top of you. The artillery strike sound is like the sound of death because once you hear that high whistle you know your dead. If an explosion occurs near you go into a shell shock type of mode for about 15 seconds, which is cool because all the noises are dimmed and all you hear is a ringing sound, which is extremely cool and realistic.
