Play through one:
PC - Elf Mage (Male)
Morrigan - Hex and debuffs on enemies. (Also had the love story going on there)
Alistair - The main tank. Oghren (When I had too and I regret doing that!)
Leliana - Picked locks, disable traps etc... and she was also the ranger

Play through two:
PC - Human Nobel Rouge (Women)
Alistair - Good to have him around for his defending ability's. And he's also kind of fast at attacking. (Got the love story going here too.)
Wynne - Healer/Buffer Pretty much "Cleric"
Shale - Ago puller/heavy hitter *He has a lot of con so dying for him is rare*, Oghren (When I had to)

My first play-through was more or less the hardest thing EVER. I didn't want to be the guy who picked the warrior on his first run. So! I picked the hardest class to start out with. Should of started with a rouge.

A good party needs a tank(Alistair/Sten), a healer(Wynne/Morrigan with healing spells), a mage damager(Morrigan with damage spells) and a rouge(Leliana for lockpicking and stealth as range or melee, better as range).
Replace one with your character.

PC - Rogue
Wynne - add some attack spells
Morrigan - spirit healer for revival in case Wynne dies
Alistair, War Dog, or Sten (I liked Alistair)
