All depends what type of rogue you want to be, melee (backstab or ability-based) or ranged.

Assassin is without a doubt the best as a melee backstab rogue. No other specialization will give you even close to the damage increase.

Duelist is extremely mediocre. Some decent skills but pales compared to what you get from other specializations. This specialization is better for dual-wielding warriors or NPC party members. Generally, people focus highly on their main character in combat situations and won't find much use for it's 4th tier talent as you can easily reposition or stun opponents for backstabs. The other defense bonus talents aren't exactly what most rogues look for, stun and combat escape are better.

Ranger is quite good as a second specialization, despite what it looks like. The pet does decent dmg, can offtank, and in the case of soloing specialist is invaluable cannon fodder. Your blood mages may also drain health from it, easy to summon another if it happens to die.

Bard is another great spec. The sustained buffs, for your entire group, are great. Distraction is another combat escape option. Captivating Song is a powerful CC tool.

well, seems how you can pick two, I'd go with Duelist and Assassin.

If you duel wield Assassin and Duelist are the best choices. Go Duelist first, since the inherent bonuses are better at earlier levels.

If you are a ranged rogue, or if you have a Blood Mage in your party then Bard/Ranger is awesome. The combination of buffs and the ability to leech life from the animal companions in invaluable.
