"Fun? Yes. Worth paying for? No."

Well, to be honest I did find this MMORPG quite fun and the grinding factor is not as boring as the grinding in many other MMORPGs are. The graphics are average and the sound was adequete. I didn't find it repetetive at all. Another plus is that connectivity and lag was never an issue with me. The simplicity of this one was a breath of fresh air for me.

I like to get to the meat of a game fast in my reviews, since that is really the deciding factor of any game. So let's get down to it. You start off on a beginner island, which gives you a smoother transition into the real world. It's there so you can get used to the controls and the interface, and what not. Playing the game and using the functions are very simple and really nothing to complain about. Once you level up a bit and do a few quests, off you go...

You start off in a place called Adventurer's Plains, a few NPCs here and there, a few quests here and there. Getting to level 10 is relatively simple, and once you do, you can start a chain of quests to pick a job profession. There are four to choose from and they are pretty unique. The best part about the game is the skill system, there are a slew of skills to choose from, and since you are limited by skills points, very few character builds will be alike because of it.

Now there are cons about this game too. For one, you might get frustrated with the constant running back and forth, which many quests will require you to do. Or the sparse amount of items. After level 9, they become far and few in between. So monsters start becoming more of a challange. One last thing to mention is the bugs. Though rare, there are some, even gamebreaking ones. One bug I encountered was one where I lost a story quest and could not recover it, so I could no longer proceed with the story.

Actually an above average MMORPG with all the crap out there, but it does have its flaws. I played the 7-day trial, but decided not to pay. The monthly fee is $12, and when they institute a fee like that, they are now competing with the bigger and better MMORPGs like WoW, EQ, Anarchy Online, GW (free FYI), DAoC, etc. And frankly, R.O.S.E. online, is out of the running.
