        1. Introduction
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Crazy Frog (aka the Annoying Thing) is never going to stop in my opinion hence
why I've written up this FAQ. This Internet Sensation which started in 1997
turned music video into video game. This FAQ, among the basic things, will
explains what's in the game and why in full detail.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
        2. Crazy Frogs Background
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The whole Crazy Frog fanchrise started off with one small sound file which
    quickly grew popular.

In 1997 with one sound effect by Daniel Malmedahl, who came up with the sound.
It circulated around the internet which it appeared on Swedish television. It
later was picked up by Erik Wernquist, who used the sound as the voice for this
small creation of the Frog, which they named Crazy Frog, also known as the
    annoying thing.

Of course, the Swedish make alot of popular video games such as the EA
Battlefield series. This happens to be one mascot that a couple of Swedish
developers have created almost out of spare time.

Crazy Frog was developed and later, the ringtone company Jesper appoached
Daniel and Erik and used the Crazy Frog as a marketing campaign to sell the
sound effect ring tone in Europe, which became wildly popular and successful.

This became popular and the Minisity of Sound (A nightclub in London and a
major music label) hire out the designer and the team to make music video.
These music videos were burn onto the CDs along with the music and sold at
retailers across the country and was successful to have spawned that video
games. You can view these video on Youtube!

Crazy Frog just happens to be a mascot in video games now, well almost, he may
not be the sonic or mario but it just happens to appear that way.

Crazy Frog is never going to stop in my opinion as there's copies lying around
hence why I've written up this FAQ, so you don't have to find it yourself or
if you happened to pick it up and ask yourself, what on earth you were playing,
then you'll know why, even If you just happened to import it from Europe. Yes,
this just happens to be one exclusive title Europe has.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some of the features the track as which allows you help win races and get an
idea of the courses. No matter no boring the tracks look, they're pretty much
have features that help stop or allow you to win races.

Ramps - The curvy road have ramps, building your speed to get some air as
               you fly of them.

Tunnels - They rarely appear, some are useful as you can use the boosters
to pick up speed and no fly of the track and some tunnels, like
the sewer map, have pipe or other stuff trying to stop you from

Truck Boosters - Displayed on the track as yellow glowing surface, they
give you a boost in speed.

Side Barriers - Just helpping the player get back on the track, it isn't
all bottompits without the barriers all the time as the game
does remove them which can cause the character to fall into.

Billboard Bars - The wierdess out the lot. They're bars that hold street
signs and just happened to be on the track. These can help
you stop your speed if you end up flying into one. They
don't give your character any damage.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
        8. Gadgets
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gadgets isn't the most easiest thing this part of the game has to offer. The
weapon selector is confusing enough due to it's inverted mapping. The weapons
do help. During the cups, you'll find they are useful to get rid of your
opponents and someitmes too easy especiality if you use the proxy mines, which
drags your opposination back allowing you to win races.

To use a weapon, you'll have to collect coins which are littlered throughout
the track. These coins are measured in 500 units every time you pick up a coin!
Gathering up enough coins will allow you to use a weapon. Each one has prices
to them and will allow you to use weapons.

The manual doesn't really description them as Gadgets but as weapon, I call
them gadgets because a shield and booster aren't really weapons!

Each character has a one or two different weapons. So here's a grid which
provide this character does what. Why they have different weapons is beyond me.
I believe they wanted to put them on the track as picks up like other arcade
racers out there, however they may of not had time, meaning that they had to
give characters certain weapons which fitted there personalities.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
        8.1 Damage
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On the topic of weapons, you will sustain damage during the game however it
varies in different modes. Damage in a race will just slow your vehicle down
however in the two player arena and chase mode, your character will just
    explode when damage gets depleted.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
        9. Single Player
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The single player has four modes to offer, these are the Championship, Single
    Race, chase and Time Trial.

Completing the tournament mode will allow you to unlock content for the rest
    of the game.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
         9.1 Tournament
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The championship is the place where you'll end up taking part in a series of
races which winning each race will earn you points. By the end of each
championship, the winner is the one who has the most points. If there a case
where there two racers with the same amount of points, the game will take each
racers time for each race, and add those all together and the fastest time will
    win the championship.

After each race, the position of the racer will determine how many points they
have when they finish the race.

    The pointing as follows:

       1st - 10 points
       2nd - 8 points
       3rd - 6 points
       4th - 4 points
       5th - 2 points
       6th - 1 points

If there happens to be a draw towards the end, the racer whom completed the
tournament with the fastest time overall will be placed 1st. You have to be
placed 1st to win the tournament and unlock the next cup. Each cup must be
completed to unlock the next one.

This cup will take you around 20 to 22 minutes to finish.

You'll unlock the following after finishing this cup:

        Unlocked Crazy Cup
Unlocked Target Arena - (for in 2 Player mode!)

      **= Crazy Cup =**

        Downtown = 6 to 7 minutes
        Center City = 8 to 9 minutes
        Peripheral = 6 to 8 minutes
        Technicial Path = 7 to 8 minutes

This cup will take you around 30 minutes to finish.

You'll unlock the following after finishing this cup:

        Unlocked Special Cup
        Unlocked Stadium Arena!

      **= Special Cup =**

This is the most annoying and pointless cup in the game. This takes ALL the
tracks from the three cups and puts them together in this single cup. That
means you'll be sitting down for an hours. If you just happened to play games
that give you 4 hours races and that kind. You think you'll get used to it.
You don't. You'll be end up wishing that this cup never existed.

All 120 pts is up for grabs, not that you want too and you'll have to spend
over an full hour in this mode in order to complete it. So just hope your
Playstation 2 still works after this becuase anyone would be annoyed if there
was a power cut when playing this cup.

After finishing this cup, you will unlock the hidden character, a raving mad
cow named Matilda and you've completed the (terrible and cheap) cup along with
it being the last of the championships.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
         9.2 Single Race
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The single player race allows you to race on one of the tracks from the game.
All the tracks are unlocked meaning that you wouldn't have to take part in
the championships to unlock them. It's a good way of seeing what the game
offers however many players don't prefer that, they just prefer jumping into
the championship and progress thru and get it over and done with.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
         9.3 Chase
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Like the music video, The Annoying thing gets chased by the roadhogging drones
and they make every attempt to destory the Annoying Thing. There no finish
line. You have to do everything to race around the track and to stay alive.
To do that, you can pick up weapons, repair kits and drive around as much as
    you like.

You're score is the distance you have travelled. The longer the distance
you've driven, the higher score it is.

For Wipeout fans reading this,... It's pretty much Wipeout's Zone mode with
    Crazy Frog.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
          9.4 Time Trial
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This mode allows you to record the fastest time. For three laps on any track,
you can drive around as fast as you can, recording the best time. There no
other racers or weapons and the track is all yours. The fastest time gets
recorded and entered onto the leaderboards.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
          10. Two Players
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Two Player mode is pretty much the same in the Championship and races
however it's worth explaining the timely differences that the game has. They
both explain the spilt screen. Chase and Time Trial isn't featured here meaning
that Tournament and Race are featured. Two players also include Arena mode
aswell, exclusively for the two player mode.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
          10.1 Tournament
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's pretty much the same as the single player version and the same UI.
The map is in the centre of the screen and players are marked on the map with
a number representing the players controllers. Each player must complete the
    race in order to continue.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
          10.2 Race
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's pretty much the same as the single player version and the same UI.
The map is in the centre of the screen and players are marked on the map with
a number representing the players controllers. It's a more nicer way to
enjoy the tracks a bit more and have a bit of friendly competition.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
          10.3 Arena (Mode)
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a deathmatch style map. You can select your characters and pit them
together, collecting tokens in order to use weapons and hunt down the other
    player.

Brizzarely enough, the arenas are actually themed then all single player tracks
    from in the game combined.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
          10.3.1 Arena
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gutter Arena: A gutter or hole in the middle of the arena.

Target Arena: A circle arena with a bump in the middle

Stadium Arena: A form of an eight, the biggest arena out of the lot.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
          11. Multiplatform Compansion
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There four different variations of this game between four platforms. Each has
there differences from little or bizzarely huge to the point you cannot made
out if it is the Crazy Frog game. As this is the PS2 guide, it will compare
them to the PC, Nintendo DS and Gameboy Advance.

        PS2

Just has the load game feature! This isn't found in any other version of the
game. It's worth noting as it's the only game has a use for the memory card.

        PC

Everything is pretty much the same. It has a bit more techinical options.
You can configure the controls before you can install the game and the
'Load game' option has been exchanged with 'Exit game'. Everything else is
pretty much the same. More on the technicial configutation in another section
of this FAQ. Found at PC Techinical Configatation.

        Nintendo DS

The game is pretty much the same as the PC and PS2 version however just happens
to have less content compared to those other versions.

Four Racers are present on the track compared to Six Racers in the PS2 version.

The courses are NOT found in this version are Center City and Peripheral.

A brizzare simalirity: The Technicial Path course still contains the flaw of
respawning even with you are on the ramp or about to land before it. It happens
    in this game.

Nintendo DS multiplayer player mode is thru wireless aswell which allows up to
    four players.

        Gameboy Advance

This is a totally different represention of Crazy Frog yet. The only character
just happened to be The Annoying Thing. The rest of the characters are totally
different! The annoying thing drives a go cart. This game is pretty much Mario
Kart on tracks set in no where, ranging from a photorealistic city, middle of
a canyon somewhere in America or Austraila somewhere to a greenland forest.
It's has NOTHING to do with the Axel F music video.

The characters aren't the same in this version! They are totally different
characters with different names. Which is really brizzare, almost looking like
    fail cosplayers.

The game modes and difficulties are all different. Tournament is the only mode
    which

There also another mode called 'Last Man Standing', which is like the battle
mode however it's done on the track like Mario Kart style fashion.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
          11.1 PC Technicial Configuration
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The PC version has an configuration screen, which allows you to view and change
the controls of what the racers can do and which buttons to press to preform
those various actions. It also allows you to change the langauge, controller
type and screen resolution in the game.

This screen appears when you insert the game disc into your computer, as your
computer can autorun the start up screen.

Screen resolution just allows you to change the size of the resolution. What
a screen resolution means the size of the width and length of the feedback of
your screen. The higher the resolution, the more sharper the graphics will be
as you play the game. It's a very technical thing that all PC games have.

You are able to change the controller type of the game. You can select from the
keyboard or controllers and steer wheel with paddle. Other platforms don't have
a keyboard, since they this launcher and configuration screen is availiable.

If you ever decide to change these function and inputs on the controls, just
remember to test them on a single player mode of the game to make sure that
everything works fine before jumping into the main modes.

Strangely enough, the labels the config screen gives out other information, so
here's a rough translation of what each means to avoid confusion.

Up: Moves the select cursor in the menus and character select screen
Down: Moves the select cursor in the menus and character select screen
Left: Moves the select cursor in the menus and character select screen
Right: Moves the select cursor in the menus and character select screen
    Start/Pause: Pause during gameplay!
Accelerate: Same button as 'Up' by default. This can be changed, it doesn't have
    to be the same button!
Brake/Cancel: Brakes during a race and cancel used in the menu and select
    options!
    Honk: Sound the horn!
Select Bonus Up: Bonus as in weapon or gadget.
Select Bonus Down: Bonus as in weapon or gadget.
Use a Bonus/Accept: Bonus as in weapon or gadget. Accept is labelled because
you can use it to select options

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
          12. Glitches and Exploits
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sometimes on some tracks, after picking up speed and using boosters, you can
complete a lap. Doing this really well can allow you to win a race. This
exploits is actually found in over half of the courses in the game. Here's
a list to places were you can use them!

You cannot do this in Time Trial because they don't offer gadgets and the
booster option isn't available, so you are unable to do this trick!

Tracks you are able to do this exploits on:

     Baby Cup

East Park Beach - Final ramp, sharp turn to the right, which you'll be able
to cross the finish line in mid air!
South West Hightown - Same as the first track, East Park Beach, excatly the
same method at the same point, as this track expands
                              on East Park Beach
High Town - Final Ramp, you can just blast off and hit the finishing line.

     Funny Cup

Sewer - Almost, the final ramp, you are able to use a booster and just
barely make the finish line even if you fall into a bottomless pit.
West City - This one is straight forward, at the final turn, there a ramp
before it, you can simply launch yourself and not steer and
you'll still cross the finishing line despite falling in a
                     bottomless pit.
West Park Bench - Final ramp. Not really an exploit as the track design
allows this to happen as it's a long straight.
Park Bench - This one is tricky! Towards the end, there a lamp before the
helix, if the racer gains enough speed and power, it's quite
possible to make a jump directed towards the finish. However
                     it's very very risky!

     Crazy Cup

Peripheral - This one is excatly the same as East Park Bench and South West
Hightown. don't allow the size of the map fool you. It's the
                     same excat location.

One flaw found is of the ramps in the Pehphiecal track that makes it very
difficult to land and will end up respawning the racer. This is very annoying
and problematic. This flaw also exsits in the DS version as it features the
same track with the same problem.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
          13. Jukebox
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A little section in the game where you are able to select and listen the music,
the game has to offer. The listings of the song name and artist are listed
below. most of the soundtracks in the game are based on real artists whom have
released ablums around Europe. Another way they've sneak in advertising on
musicains and music artists in this game.

Believe me, they've done it worst in the 2nd game when it comes down to the
    soundtrack!

Some of the soundtrack have been remixed for this game and is actually annoying
(like really annoying that you want to turn off the music) in my opinion,
despite the fact that the Annoying thing is meant to be a playful character

Song Title - Artist Name - Composer Name

My Parts Fall Out - Prince Quick Mix - M. Napuri
Crazy Street - Faribisch - Barry Fisher
Getting Things Started - DJ Cash - Dan Money
Rama Rama - DJ Ace Man - Andy Brookes
Luv Hz - DJ Ace Man - Andy Brookes

Kenetix - Sensha Snare - Stuart Henshall,Neil Shervell
         Excessive-izer - The Smiggler - The Smiggler
Paint Me A Picture - The Smiggler - The Smiggler
Crazy Dom - Angus Martin - Chris Hann
Tadpole's Lament - Terry Spawn - Tim Hart
The City - Purple Mist - Matt Vyner

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
          14. Records
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Records contain the lap times of the fastest racers. After each race and if the
game decides that you have a fast lap time, the game will offer you to put in
your intitals. Good feature for party games!

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
          15. Epilogue
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Worst game ever? I thought it was easy to type but it too alot longer to write
up then it would take. It's very interesting how this game adapted into Crazy
Frog Racer 2, which I will write up an FAQ for.
