Diablo 1 Redux?

I believe in Diablo 1 when you died you lost some experience is that true for this one?

No experience loss - just durability loss (10%) on your items.

I've been killed a number of times on Nightmare and have not seen anything about losing experience (Diablo 2 took some experience if you died on Nightmare or Hell, but not Normal, so I wouldn't expect an experience drop for Normal here either).

I can confirm that the answer is no: you do not lose experience in any way in Diablo 3.
