This is a guide to the battle of the gods extension to black and white.
It is a work in progress and will be updated as I work through the game.
I do not intend on rehashing the manual so you should refer to it if you are
    unsure of controls etc.

This guide has been written by me after some long painstaking effort so please
do not rip my walkthrough off. Finally it will contain spoilers so only read
    if you are really stuck.

This is a strategy game and so itís difficult to say what to do step by step so
I will only give advice on what I did; you can take any approach you want.

At the start of the game you need to pick either good, custom or evil as your
play type. I prefer to pick custom because you have more control on what you
    can play the game with.

There is a bonus statue on each of the three playable lands. They look like
the heads from Easter island. When you find all three, one on each level then
you unlock the bonus level. This is launched from the very bottom of the title
    screen.

If you take over towns by impressiveness you will receive tribute when people
come to your town. You can then take over the empty town they leave behind for
more tribute. Useful when playing levels that ask you to take over towns by
    impressiveness and force.

Using wonders can help to expand your influence sphere which is very useful
defensively as you can use miracles, rocks or hand gestures to kill enemies
before they get anywhere near your town.

Itís easier to defend and build 1 town rather than 2 or 3.

I tend not to attack purely because you need so many troops to win battles on
each level, it's a waste of people and resources. You can use your creature,
miracles and rocks to defend yourself. Wonders also help in taking over towns
by impressiveness, would you want to live in a village that's just spouted a
    volcano?

Create a squad of soldiers then disbanding them and recreating using same
people, you can achieve create x platoons without the need to actually have x
    number of platoons in total.

    Silver Scrolls
    --------------

    1) Whack a skeleton
    -------------------
To beat this you need to play a sub game where you have to use lightning to
kill skeletons whilst avoiding fleeing towns people. Basically you have to
score 3000 on each level to win. The lightning has a blast radius so you
should not aim directly at skeletons if people are close. When you beat all
three you can play again and try and beat your high score. Each time you can
manage that then you'll get an extra 5,000 tribute.

You also get 7 people from Shiseki for beating the first level of this which
is useful at the start of the level.

    2) Dem Bones
    ------------
Took me a while to figure this out, went a bit scientific writing down the
combinations. If you click on the bells above each skeleton you switch them on
or off. Click the big bell resets them all. Here is a list of which bells
switch things on and off (from left to right):

    1 - 1,3,5
    2 - 2,5,7
    3 - 1,3,6
    4 - 2,4,6
    5 - 4,5,7
    6 - 1,2,6
    7 - 3,4,6,7

To beat the mission simple click on the skeletons in this order 1,3,6,7.

    3) Riddle of the rocks
    ----------------------

    1) Archer I may face in the same direction as the statue that is pointed at
                  by the spear
    2) Axeman Exactly one statue faces me and I do not face it.
    3) Swordsman I face in the same direction as the statue with the axe faces.
    4) Spearman No other statue faces in the same direction as me.

    The solution is

    1 - Left
    2 - Left
    3 - Right
    4 - Up

    Walkthrough
    -----------
Basically from the start you need to construct the following:

    Altar
    Creature pen
    Fields,

    Storehouse
    Some housing

If you can build a wonder at the east of the village you'll be able to start
using the mine, otherwise you'll have to slowly build towards it. A wonder
to the far west is also useful because it extends your reach when you are
attacked from the village in the west.

Split your people in between farming, mining, collecting wood and put a lot
into worshipping at the altar. You can build slowly when people migrate to
    your town.

You'll want to begin building a wall around the town for security and for one
of the objectives. You'll notice 3 places where you can build so join these up
as quick as possible and put a gate house on. Don't worry about putting any
soldiers on the walls you shouldn't need any to beat the level.

The next thing you need to do is send your creature north east and you should
see the prison on top of a hill. Use the creature to beat your way in and the
men will escape (objective 1 complete).

When you have the men and creature back send your creature west to Therabes.
Try and kill as many of the catapults and troops as possible (only take on
small groups or you will get nailed). when\If you creature dies he should
respawn back at your creature pen.

Eventually the enemy will launch an attack from Therabes, use the rocks,
miracles and your creature to destroy the catapults. Ignore archers and foot
troops because they can't get in without catapults. In fact you can leave
these around your town whilst you build it up.

When you take over the first town try and destroy any enemy troops around
your town so you can welcome the new people into your town without letting the
enemy in. The enemy will attack from Kwon. Again you need to destroy his
catapults and he's basically useless, creature and miracles are again good
    here.

You can keep building your town and eventually take over Kwon. Kotohiri is the
next town to attack, deal with this in the same way as you have done the others
and you should take this town over.

When he is down to his last town he will unleash the beast, so to speak. He
will send the beast and troops down the hill to attack but you can easily beat
him with miracles and your beast. You can either use impressiveness or force
    to take this town.

When you have beaten the land you can complete any of the other objectives,
silver scrolls and don't forget the bonus statue.

    Silver Scrolls
    --------------

    1) Sliding Puzzle
    ------------------
This is a very important mini game. Basically you have to move the pieces
around to create a picture of the enemy creatures face. They tiles are
numbered with roman numerals and should look like this when complete:

                      I II III

                      IV V VI

                      VII VIII

The importance of doing this, because you earn no tribute, is it disables the
enemy creature for a small time. Basically do this as soon as you can when the
level begins, then repeat every time it becomes active again. If you do then
you'll have a lot less enemies to fight because the creature cannot bring
sacrifices for the enemy to make his undead army.

    2) Puck Hurling
    ---------------
This game is rather easy compared to whack a skeleton. Basically you have
three pucks that you have to throw at another set of pucks. Each one you hit
gives you points, any outside the circle gives extra points. You need to beat
a score of 3000 in order to get the tribute. You can then play on forever
beating your score and getting extra tribute.

The best way I have found of doing this is line your puck in a straight line
and hold the mouse button. Then simply use the up arrow key to scroll the
map. This sends the puck at pace into the other pucks. Should get you the
3000 score needed to beat the game.

    3) Two Torches
    --------------
This is very difficult because you almost need to balance 2 torches on 1 stand
to be able to swap them over. Your prize is a platoon of undead rank 3 and 30
in size. You also get 50,000 tribute so not to be sniffed at. This took me
ages to do so I actually left it until later in the game.

    Walkthrough
    -----------
I think this map is the most difficult of the three because of two reasons:

1 - You have only 2 limited mines close by.
2 - Your enemy keeps sending endless wave after wave of undead to attack.

With the mines having limited supply of ore you need to build the following at
    the start of the level:

    Altar
    Creature Pen
    Store House
    Granary
    Smelter
    2 Fields

Now there are only 4 mines on the map:

    Verberg 10,000
    Skien 10,000
    Halmstead 6,000
    Koldam Bottomless

You also have to bear in mind that the villages will start to use these mines
so you need to get to them as quick as possible. I would uses your creature to
start collecting from the mines until you can expand you sphere of influence
close enough to have people mine them. If you want to expand you can build
buildings that only use wood (like storehouses) to expand quickly. You have to
be aware that trees are in short supply so you'll need the water miracle.

You'll want to complete the sliding puzzle as quick as possible and then keep
doing it to stem the tide of undead armies that will attack. It is a little
tedious but will make it easier to build your town to a decent size and
    establish a defensive position.

Now basically keep expanding by building different building types and keeping
your warehouse full to keep the people happy. Use your creature to defend when
enemies attack along with miracles. Making soldiers takes away valuable
people and resources. I would say they would be better worshipping at an altar
    or wonder.

As you take over each town the enemy gets a bit miffed and destroy parts of
towns, but we don't need other towns so not a problem.

Use your creature to defend healing and using miracles to kill enemy soldiers.
When you have enough resources to build a wonder, do so you can use this to
weaken other towns and get them to come to yours. I actually built several
wonders just to expand the influence ring so I could kill enemy catapults
before they get close enough to the walls to fire.

You will also want to build a wall to enclose your town to make it more
difficult for the enemies to get in. You can now keep doing the puzzle,
repelling attacks and using wonders to take over other towns.

When you have beaten the land you can complete any of the other objectives,
silver scrolls and don't forget the bonus statue. If you want to link the
towns you have to take then over first by force. To build on impressive land
you need to build on the highest point in the centre of the island.

The bonus statue is on a very small island in the far north east of the map.

    Silver Scrolls
    --------------

    1) Sliding Puzzle
    ------------------
This is a important mini game, not as important as the last level but the same
in objective. You have to move the pieces around to create a picture of the
enemy creatures face. They tiles are numbered with roman numerals and should
    look like this when complete:

                      I II III

                      IV V VI

                      VII VIII

The importance of doing this, because you earn no tribute, is it disables the
enemy creature for a small time. Basically do this as soon as you can when the
level begins, then repeat every time you want to attack the opponents creature.

    Walkthrough
    -----------
At the start of the level the enemy will try and use an earthquake miracle
against you. You need to get your creature to the miracle just to the north of
your city and destroy it. He'll send his creature against you so use the
sliding puzzle in the north west to help you win this fight. When you have
defeated the creature and destroyed the wonder bring your creature back to town.

He does have another wonder so you will want to build a wonder or two of your
own to increase the sphere of influence to prevent damage to your city.

You have loads of people and several things already built so assign your people
to worship at an altar, gather food and other resources. You'll want to start
worshipping at the wonder when it's built to help you later in the level.

Basically for the rest of the level he will send enemies and his creature to
attack so use your own creature and miracles to defend. The shield miracle
will be needed when he bombards your town and water miracles to put out any
    fires he causes.

You can use the wonders on the enemy towns to get them to join you whilst
building your town. Eventually you'll just be left with his main town in the
north of the map. Wonders can help to destroy this then you can either wait
until your influence takes it over or attack with soldiers and your creature.

Watch the cut scene at the end of the game and see they've left it open for a
sequel, well it would be rude not to.

    Walkthrough
    -----------

You start this level with limited buildings, miracles etc. What you need to do
    is two fold:

Expand the town(s) and earn extra tribute
Kill the enemies who attack in waves.

Now each town when you reach a certain level of impressiveness will give you
    the following tribute:

    Impressiveness Tribute
    -----------------------
     2,000 60,000
     4,000 56,000
     6,000 52,000
     8,000 48,000
    10,000 44,000
    12,000 40,000
    14,000 36,000
    16,000 32,000
    18,000 28,000
    20,000 24,000
    22,000 20,000
    24,000 16,000
    26,000 12,000
    28,000 8,000
    30,000 4,000
    32,000 1,000

There are also several statues in the level that are colour coded. If you
click on one then the active statue of that colour will cycle. The active
statue will emit lightning when enemies get close and there are several of
    these groups across the island.

You basically have to see how long you can last scoring 4000 points per wave.

I find that trying to get 1 group of a couple of enemies left is the best way
to go and leave them alone whilst you build. Tricky to do but you won't get
far if you don't. This is a never ending level.
