    Hi again folks, in this FAQ you'll find a everthing you want and I hope need to
    know about MOD in Dead Island. This is not a walkthrough and in some parts
    there will be a chance of spoiler about something in the story of the game.
    Besides that I hope you enjoying reading this and find what you want.
    
    <4-What is a mod?>
    
    Mod is a collectable item that you can find in the game, this item look like
    a blue rolled paper, or gain after complete certain quests in the game. These
    kind of items allow you to make or modify weapons in the game when you have
    the proper parts and money. After the weapons is moded they can be recognized
    by a prefixe before the original name of the weapons. They'll be order in this
    FAQ by type, act and alphabetical. After 1.3 patch new mods were added in the
    game different from the orignal mods they don't change the name of the
    weapons and they'll be mark with * before its name.
    
    <5-Effects Explanation>
    
    In General all the elemental effects excluding Brain Blast do the same thing: 
    An additional damage with the element, showing by a colored number, and a
    special effect in a critical hit for a period of time. The force and the time
    of the effect it's showed by the number below the symbol of the element.
    
    Shock: The color of the damage is purple and its critial causes the enemy to be
    electrocuted causing damege overtime when this happen the enemy can't attack.
    Shock symbol is a single bolt.
    
    Fire: The color of the damage is orange and its critical put the enemy on fire
    causing damege over time, he still can attack when in this state. Fire symbol
    is a single flame.
    
    Bleed: The color of the damage is red and its critial cause a bleeding in the
    enemy causing damage overtime, th enemy still can attact in this state. Bleed
    symbol is three drops.
    
    Poison: the color of is green and its critical causes the enemy to vomit
    causing damage overtime, in this state he can't attack. Poison symbol is 
    skull with crossbones
    
    Impact: The color of the damage is purple and its critial causes the enemy to
    fly away causing a huge damage when he hits a wall or a floor,somtimes
    dismember himself when hits something. Impact symbol is 3 bolts
    
    Explosion: Is The symbol of the Sticky bomb mod representing that if the
    weapon was thrown, hiting someone or not, it will explode in a few seconds and
    cause damage in nearby enemies and if they survive they will in flames causing
    damage by fire overtime. The weapon will be lost after that.
    
    BrainBlast: Different from the elements above branblast cause the enemy's head
    to explode in every hit on humans, walkers or infested. this element don't
    have symbol
    
    Critical Chance: This increase the percentage change to get a critical hit in
    weapon. Critical change symbol is a skull with a hole.
    
    
    <6-Notes and observations>
    
    This is a quick explanation on the fields of the mods:
    
    <6.1-Melee and Gun mods>
    
    [Name] (color): [Neme] is the name of the mod, (color) is the color that the
    mod has in the invetory menu.
    
    Location([name]): This will be showed when you have to find a mod, and this is
    the description of the place where the mod can be found. [Name] is the name
    that shows in the bottom left corner when you are near the real place. If you
    are in specific place of a quest the [Name] will be the area of that quest
    like Abandoned House of the Unvited Guests.
    
    Mainquest/Sidequest: This is showed when a mod is gained by reward. This shows
    which quest you will need to complete with the name and the description of the
    person that gives you the quest.
    
    Description: This the text that shows up when you select the mod in the
    inventory menu.
    
    Effect: this is the effect that the weapon gain after you use it.
    
    Name: Prefix that the weapon gain when you use the mod. The weapons moded with
    a mod of the 1.3 version din't gain a prefix just the effect of the mod.
    
    Commom Weapons: this is the group of weapons that the mod can be used with.
    
    Legendary Weapons: same as Common weapons, but now with the Legendary Weapons.
    Legendary weapons is weapons that are considered uniques in the game, this
    means not that you can only get one in each save but they are different
    because each one has its own name.
    
    Parts needed: this is the list of items that you need to have if you want to
    use the mod.
    
    Price: The cost for each use of the mod.
    
    Video: A link for a youtube video show how to get the mod.
    
    <6.2-Thorw and Ammunitaion mods>
    
    [Name] (color): same as item 5.1.
    
    Location([name]): same as item 5.1.
    
    Mainquest/Sidequest: same as item 5.1.
    
    Description: same as item 5.1.
    
    Effect: same as item 5.1.
    
    Name: same as item 5.1.
    
    Create: Say what is created when you use the mod, if it creates a weapons it
    will also show the status of the weapon created.
    
    Parts needed: same as item 5.1.
    
    Price: same as item 5.1.

    <6.3-Developer's mod>
    
    [Name] (color): same as item 5.1.
    
    Skull([Color],[Act], [Place]): this the the description where you can find the
    skull for the mod. [color] is the color of the skull; [Act] is the act where
    you can find the skull; [Place] is the name that shows in the bottom left
    corner when you are near the real place. If you are in specific place of a
    quest the [Name] will be the area of that quest like Abandoned House of the
    Unvited Guests.
    
    Altar([Act], [Place]): Its the same of the skull but this time describing the
    place where you need to put the skull.
    
    Description: same as item 5.1.
    
    Create: same as item 5.2.
    
    Parts needed: sam as item 5.1.

    <7-Melee mods>
    
    These kind of mods is using is melee weapons adding always a critical chance
    and most of the time a elemental effect.
    
    <7.1-ACT 1>
    
    *Assasin's Poison (Purple)
    
    Location(Golden Beach): In this beach you can see 2 bars. The mod is inside
    the south one its in the corner of a table on the left side
    
    Description: Brass Knuckles, a couple blades and poison thorns - that is my
    answer to the urgent demand born within the couple last days. Put all of them
    together according to the description below and don't hesitate to use it when
    you come across a living dead. You have to be quick and determined - leave the
    rest to my super brass knuckles...
    
    Effect: Poison 3, Critical Chance 4

    Description: Weight is the foundation - I've been always saying this.
    Especially in case of the blunt weapons. By means of a simple trick (that i
    describe below) You will make your darling crush the skulls of those dam
    maniacs like putrid water melons.

    Mainquest: Passport To Life, given by Simanoi he is inside the hut where you
    begin the game.
    
    Description: Thanks to a couple of nails you'll turn any kind of wooden club
    into a deadly mace. Just follow the instructions below and you will have a
    chance to put holes in many human flesh mongers.
    
    Effect: Bleed 1, Critical Chance 4%

    Sidequest: Toy Story, given by Anne Snider. She can be found in the bungalow
    15 in the Hotel Bungalow.
    
    Description: If you're in possession of several large, heavy bolts and a
    sturdy club (ideally metal one) then you will be able to assemble a mace that
    will come in handy in the current circumstances. A blow with this appliance
    should be a painful experience for whoever is at the busines en of it...
    
    Effect: Bleed x1, Critical Chance 4%

    Location(Silver Bungalow District): It is on a table with 2 chairs near the
    entrance to the area where you need to turn off the alarm to complete A Ray
    of Hope sidequest
    
    Description: Regular brass knuckles may not suffice to handle someone who
    doesn't feel a thing and only thing they want is to eat your face. One needs
    something more. The inspiration for my upgraded brass knuckles was a certain
    superhero - after mounting a couple sizeable blades you will level the
    battlefield when you're confronted with one of those freaks. I can only wish
    you luck friend.

    Description: I found that a piece of blade and some eletricity is enough to
    stun one half-dead son of a bitch. All you have to do is use insulating tape
    to stick a battery and some wires to ashiv and - voila! - we've fot a fancy
    toy.

    Description: The idea is straight like the piece of stick you'll wrap the rag
    around. Add some glue and most importantly - broken glass. A guy hit with that
    thing will bleed like a slaughtered piglet. Just be carefull not to cut
    yourself with the glass shards when you are gluing then to the rag...

    Description: Do you know what a Kanabo is? It's a god damn heavy piece of
    metal club straight from Japan in the hands of a strong enough person makes
    for a truly destructive weapon. Now imagine such a club with blades and a
    strong eletronic charge added to it. The effects? Total annihilation. Check
    for yourself.

    two batteries. And two batteries fastened to a solid blade should give quite a
    shock to any living corpse. Tried and tested!

    machete to a temperature so high you will be able to cut through the flesh of
    the walking dead like butter. I advise to be cautious while using - it can
    cause serious burns.

    Sidequest: Last Chance On The Wall, given by Howard Craigson. He can be found
    in the church. He is the gut near the table that has two bottles of water.
    
    Description: Have you ever prepared escalopes? Didi you happen to poind the
    meat with an electrocution hammer? You will have a chance now, provided you
    manage to puttogether such a tool in the way I described in the instruction
    below. It works!

    Sidequest: Heroes And Villains, you gain this quest when you find Vang Chi.
    He can be found in the right street of the pump station. You will need to be
    at least in the chapter 6 to find him.
    
    Description: What you've got here is a relatively simple way to turn a blunt
    tool into a percussive weapon. An eletrified hammer or some club will make
    them rotting freaks jump back after every blow as if hit by a train.

    yourself - you'll topple the enmies like a freakin' sorcerer.

    floor after pass the door you need to ram, you will be in a corri with 3
    others room go to the middle room the mod will be on a table near the sofa
    and the window of the room.
    
    Description: By following my guidelines you will make your kanabo able to not
    only smash bone and crack skulls but also gut the veins out, literally. I'm
    not kidding, you'll hit a guy with this and he will be spilling blood as if
    shot with a shotgun.
    
    Effect: Bleed 4, Critical Chance 8

    Description: Okay if you want a weapon that will make the fucker wounded with
    it puke his guts out follow the instructions in my notes. The assembly
    shouldn't be too difficult provided you gather the right components. Good

    altar in the game. Skulls have these kind of property: they don't show in the
    inventory menu and they will be lost in a new play. These mods look like Teddy
