This is a guide to the STALKER Clear Sky game.  I do not intend on rehashing 
the manual so you should refer to it if you are unsure of controls etc.  

This is meant to be a guide rather than a walkthrough.  I'll detail tasks that 
you need to complete to progress the game along with locations of useful 
artifacts and items.  How you do them is up to you.

I decided to write the guide because the instructions generally miss out a 
whole load of useful information.  I have seen other walkthroughs that don't 
have as much detail as this walkthrough.  

I haven't done all different combinations of joining factions so some of the 
side missions may not be listed in this guide.  

I haven't found all the flash drive upgrades, even on the second play through.

This guide has been written by me after some long painstaking effort so please 
do not rip my walkthrough off.  Finally it will contain SPOILERS so only read 
if you are really stuck.

{                                 02 - ENEMIES                                 }
{                                                                              }

The games enemies can be split into two groups, humans and mutants.  

Humans
------
1) Stalkers - Humans from other factions

2) Military - Very well equipped humans

3) Zombified - Ex military now zombies

Usual FPS tactics apply to all humans here; go for headshots to take them down.
don't forget to search their bodies and grab their weapons.  This is sometimes 
the only way to get the best guns if you don't join a faction!


Mutants
-------
Mutants - come in a variety of forms:

1) Boars
   Wild boars that have a claw attack.  Just shoot these, no special tactics 
   needed.

2) Blind Dogs
   Very fast claw attacks, tend to attack in packs.  Just shoot these, no 
   special tactics needed.

3) Pseudo dogs
   This is a dog that spawns phantom dogs.  The phantoms do no harm.  Just 
   kill the actual pseudo dog.  easiest way to kill them is look for the red 
   dot on the map and shoot it.

4) Blood Suckers
   These are invisible mutants, fast and probably the most dangerous enemy in 
   the game, along with the psy mutants.  Wait until they get close and unload 
   a clip into them.

5) Snorks
   These are the humanoids that crawl around on all fours and jump at you.
   Just shoot these, no special tactics needed.

6) Controller
   Humanoids that have a powerful physic attack.  Shoot these from a distance 
   with your sniper rifles!

7) Flesh
   These are mutated pigs, no special tactics for these guys.

8) Pseudogiant
   These guys can take one hell of a beating - 3 or 4 full clips of any assault 
   rifle so should be considered very dangerous.  That said you only meet one 
   of these in the game.


Mutants never drop anything useful so don't bother searching their bodies.

{                                03 - FACTIONS                                 }

Factions will generally be neutral to you with the exception of Military, 
Monolith and Renegades who will always be hostile to you.  If you join a 
faction you will automatically become enemies with their opposing factions so I 
would not join a faction until you have completed all their missions, 
especially the flash drive missions.

Below are the different factions found in the game:

Loners (Stalkers)
-----------------
Enemies: Bandits

Stalkers are usually loners whose sole aim is to get as much in the way of 
wealth from the zone.  They have come together in a group under Father Valarian 
in Cordon.  Stalkers want to get rid of bandits.


Bandits
-------
Enemies: Stalkers

They are basically bad news, and will rob anyone they can.  The only safe 
bandits are in the depot base in Garbage.  


Clear Sky
---------
Enemies: Renegades

Clear Sky's main aim is to prevent the emissions caused by Strelocks journey to 
the centre of the zone.  They are fighting with the renegades in the swamp for 
control.


Renegades
---------
Enemies: Clear Sky

Renegades are basically just interested in taking control of the swamps from 
Clear Sky.


Duty
----
Enemies: Freedom

Duty are based in the Agroprom Research Centre and believe that it is their 
duty to protect everyoneís from the harm that the zone has created.  They are 
constantly at war with Freedom.  


Freedom
-------
Enemies: Duty

Freedom based in Dark Valley and stand for the expansion of the zone for the 
good of mankind.  They are constantly at war with Duty.  


Military
--------
Enemy: Everyone

The Military are trying to stop the looting in the zone and maintain order.  
They are hostile to all other factions in the game.  


Monolith
--------
Enemies: Everyone

Monolith are a religious group that believe in protecting and expanding the 
zone.  They are hostile to everyone.

{                              04 - GENERAL TIPS                               }
{                                                                              }
================================================================================
These are general tips that you might want to take into account when playing 
the game:

- On attack and defending mission you only need to take part to complete the 
  mission, you don't need to kill everyone to get the reward.  You will need to 
  kill at least one enemy though to gain the reward.

- If you are being accompanied by other stalkers on a mission and they die, you 
  will fail the mission.  Try and keep everyone alive until you get your reward!

- When you find small metal crates, or small wooden boxes use your knife to 
  break them open.  They often contain useful items like medicines and ammo.

- You can store items in some boxes, usually found around camps and bases.

- When you get over the maximum weight limit (50 KG) you'll expend stamina just 
  walking around.  You should sell or store excess items to make sure you're 
  always on or below the maximum weight

- If you pick up more than your maximum weight +10KG (60 KG) then you won't be 
  able to move until you drop something.

- Certain upgrades to weapons and armour will prevent you from buying others.  
  Save before buying upgrades so you can load back up if you make a mistake.

- Don't forget to repair weapons to prevent them from jamming.

- Repair armour to keep its effectiveness

- The silenced pistol is great for sneaking into enemy camps and stealthy 
  killing enemies.  A single headshot will kill most enemies.  

- You won't be able to remove factions completely from the game.

- Get your weapon and armour upgrades between missions when you can afford it.

- The water areas are usually more radioactive than land so try and stay out 
  of the water if possible.

- Always unload weapons before selling them to get the ammo.

- Holding the "F" key will show all items that can be picked up with a short 
  radius of the character and will automatically pick them up if you walk 
  close enough.

- Don't waste money buying weapons and ammunition. You'll pick enough up 
  during the game from dead friends and enemies.  Some ammunition for sniper 
  rifles may need to be purchased as most enemies either user the 5.39 or 5.45 
  ammunition.

- Some storage boxes contain items when you first find them. When a day passes 
  in game time they usually respawn more items.

{                              05 - MISSION TYPES                              }

The game has only a few different mission types which fall under the headings:

Stashes
-------
Not strictly a mission as such.  You find information on stashes when you 
search dead bodies, from barmen or other stalkers.  You will have to pay for 
locations from other stalkers and in most cases it isn't worth it.

Defend Location
---------------
You will need to defend an area designated on the map.  Just help your allies 
to kill all the attackers.  You'll fail the mission if all your allies die.

Take Location
-------------
You need to assault and take a location designated on the map.  Kill all the 
enemies in the area to complete the mission.  You'll fail the mission if all 
your allies die.

Emissions
---------
When an emission warning is given you have a set amount of time to take cover 
in the building marked on the map.  If you do move across a map to another 
building then sometimes the locations ill change to that building.  This is if 
you have to head to an enemy controlled building.  Failure to do so will result 
in death!

Other Missions
--------------
You can get missions from other characters in the game.  These can range from 
fetching items to killing people.  You can normally spot characters who will 
give you side missions by there icon on the minimap.  Instead of just a dot you 
will see this change to a dot with cross.  Most missions offer a reward which 
you can pick up from the trader in an base or the person who gave you the 
mission.

{                                 06 - TRADING                                 }

Everything has a value and can be traded with traders, barmen or other 
characters.  When trading you will rarely get the full price for an item, so 
check the price you're getting before you sell.  

Different characters will only accept certain types of items, as a general rule 
of thumb the following applies:

- Traders will buy weapons, ammo and medicines
- Barman will only buy food
- Other stalkers tend to buy artifacts, food and medicines

You will get the following price reductions when selling your items:

- Traders will give you <= 10%
- Other stalkers will give you around 30%
- Barman will give you 100%

The price of items also depend on the condition and how well liked you are by 
the faction they represent.

- A weapons condition deteriotes with use and the maximum is shown.
- The accuracy is the maximum before any upgrades are made.
- The damage is the maximum before any upgrades are made.
- The handling is the maximum before any upgrades are made.
- The lower the rate of fire the more bullets that weapon can discharge in a 
  given time
- When you have a weapon equipped if you highlight another weapon the stats 
  that weapon has will be shown relatively.  Green is where the weapon is 
  better than equipped and red is worse than the weapon equipped.

{                                10 - ARTIFACTS                                }

Artifacts are hidden in this version of stalker.  To find them you need to use 
your detector near places where there are a lot of anomalies.  I will try and 
detail how many artifacts I find in different areas and where to find them.

As you progress through the game you will get better detectors which will make 
it easier to find the artifacts.  After 2 play throughs I found that the 
artifacts locations remain the same but the artifacts you find can differ.

SWAMP
=====

1) Jellyfish - found in very first mission on the small island you start on.  
Head north past the planks leading east.  There is an anomaly to the left.  
If you get on the north side it will jump out of the anomaly and you should 
be able to pick it up.

2) Crystal  - found on the burnt farm.
   You'll see some fire elementals surrounding a chimney.  You should jump in 
   over the wall where your character is looking directly east.  You won't have 
   any anomalies to deal with.  The artifact is next to the chimney.  Grab it 
   and get away from the area as itís highly radioactive.

3) Sparkler - found under the pylon where masses of electrical storms are in 
   the west of the map.  You'll need good PSY protection here which you can't 
   get on this level.  You can get it running in and using first aid until you 
   can grab it.  Run away afterwards and wait for the PSY attack to subside.

4) Fireball - Just north of the enemy base in a fire anomaly.
   Go to the machine yard and head east down the road.  You need to find the 
   tree by the side of the road between the pipes on your right and the 
   upturned truck on the left.  Stand in front of the tree facing north and 
   walk north.  You should find this artifact near a fire anomaly.

5) Stone Blood  - Line up you pointer on the map with cold in Sky Camp.  Move 
   directly north up the map and where it intersects with a line due west from 
   machine yard is a large island in the west of the swamp.  There is 
   poisonous gas here, so it would be useful to have protection from that to 
   find the artifact.

6) Sparkler - Near pylon to north east of machine yard.
   You need to be directly under the pylon near the pool to the east of the 
   truck and north east of the machine yard.

7) JellyFish - on land mass just south of 5 surrounded by lots of poisonous 
   gasses.  Its somewhere in the middle of the anomalies.


Cordon
======

1) Jellyfish - South of single car train wreck in middle of anomalies by the 
   rocks.

2) Stone Flower - to the east of the path just south of the exit point to 
   Garbage.  In the middle of anomalies

3) Stone Flower - in anomaly field north of Sidorovich

1) Night Star Artifact - north of western exit to Cordon, near a fence.

Dark Valley
===========

1) Moonlight - Inside the wall by the walkway jutting out south of the 
   Freedom base.  To get you need to go around to the west side of the base 
   inside the wall.  You'll see part of the fence overlaid by another part.  
   You can crawl underneath this to get to the front side of the base.  Make 
   your way to the front of the base and pick up the artifact by the wall.

2) Nightstar - Outside the south wall of the Factory, to the south east of 
   Freedom base.

3) Nightstar - in south east of map near a large fire anomaly.

4) Kolobok - On top of some circular towers in south east of base - same place 
   as mission from Yar.  You need to run and jump into the middle of the tower 
   pick it up and jump back to avoid dying.

5) Nightstar - just outside wall on north west of Freedom base.

   electric anomalies

Talk To Barman
--------------
When you get control you need to go speak with the barman.  Head out of the 
building and speak with him.  You'll be interrupted and will need to go back 
and speak with Lebedev.

Speak to Lebedev and again you'll be interrupted by a call for help from the 
outpost.


Take The Equipment From The Trader
----------------------------------
Go and speak to the trader who'll give you some equipment:

- 12x70 Shot Round x50
- 9x18mm Rounds x100
- Shotgun
- PMm
- Knife
- Echo Detector
- Bandages x5
- First Aid x2
- Anti Radiation Drugs


Head To The Outpost With Guide
------------------------------
Go and speak to the guide near the exit.  If youíre read, indicate so and he'll 
lead you from the base.


Help The Outpost
----------------
When you have picked up your equipment from the trader head to the guide who'll 
take you into the swamp.  Beware of anomalies in the area, use the bolt (6 on 
keyboard) to find them.  

Before heading to the objective go straight ahead past the planks on the left 
and to the north side of the anomaly on the west side of the little island you 
are on.  Use the detector and you should be able to find your first artifact.  
They will appear when you get close enough to them.  Now head across the 
planks to the area marked on the map.  Get you shotgun ready and run to the 
tower.


Ascend The Tower
----------------
Reward: Superlight Armour Flash Drive

Climb up the tower and grab the ammo at the top then descend the tower.  
(you'll get your reward back at the camp)


Kill Boars
----------
Kill the boars to complete the mission .  Quickly loot all the bodies and 
grab the ammo from the top of the tower.


Return To The Clear Sky Base
----------------------------
You'll get warning of a emission in 6 seconds, you can't avoid this so just 
wait for it to hit.  When you wake up you'll be back at the base.  


Ask Lebedev What Happened
--------------------------
Speak to Lebedev to complete the mission.


Reach An Agreement With Lebedev To Help
---------------------------------------
Agree to help Lebedev.


Goto The Great Swamps With The Guide
------------------------------------
Talk to the guide marked on the map to exit into the swamps.  Task is completed 
when you leave the base


Reinforce Clear Skyís Presence In The Swamp
------------------------------------------
Reward: 3000, Flash Drive with data on submachine barrel modification

You need to complete the factions objectives to gain overall control of the 
swamp.  This includes capturing several strategic points:

- Pump Station
- Burt Farmhouse
- Old Church

However, You only need to capture one of these to complete the objective it 
seems.  The others can, and will, need to be cleared out later but you won't 
get a reward for doing so.


Capture The Northeastern Farm
-----------------------------
Reward: 1500 RU, CS-3A Body Armour

Once you have a completed the "Reinforce Clear Sky Presence In The Swamp" 
mission you will need to take the Renegades main base.  Kill all the enemies 
to complete the mission.  When you have killed all the enemies you'll have 
gained supremacy for the clear Sky faction.  


Capture The Approaches To The Paths To The Outside World
--------------------------------------------------------
Reward: 1000 RU, First Aid, Bandage x1, Anti Radiation Drugs x1

The final mission in the swamp is to take out the southern camp which is the 
key to getting out of the swamp into the next map area.  Again follow your 
allies to the village and kill all the enemies.

Once you have completed this mission you can then start to roam around picking 
up stashes and completing any side quests you want.  You will find that the 
enemy will probably try attacking some of your bases so defend them if they 
arise.  When you are ready to move to the next area see the guide in the 
southern camp.


Go To The Cordon With The Guide
-------------------------------
Simply speak top the guide and say youíre ready to leave to Cordon.  When you 
do all your free guide travel goes and you will no longer be a member of their 
faction.

CORDON

Talk to Sidorovich
------------------
When you first enter the Cordon, stalkers will shoot you if you get too close 
so you need to avoid them until you have talked to Sidorovich.

Head to Sidorvich marked on the map just north east of your location.  Sounds 
easy but the entrance where the guide leads you is guarded by a machine gunner 
who'll cut you to shreds should you try and make a run for it.  I exited the 
map and entered at the top of the swamps.  Anyway, the stalkers around 
Sidorovich are friendly so you can approach them.  You'll find Sidorvich in an 
underground bunker.  Talk to him.


Meet The Stalkers Beyond The Embankment
---------------------------------------
Sidorovich will ask you to speak with the Stalkers beyond the embankment.  Head 
inside the main stalker base to complete the objective.  The stalkers will tell 
you to speak with their leader.


Meet The Stalker Leader
-----------------------
Talk to Father Valerian to complete the objective.


Talk To Khaletsky
-----------------
Father valerian will tell you to talk with the prisoner.  He's in a cell in 
the next building.  Go speak with him.  When youíre done head back to Valerian.


Talk With The Stalker Leader
----------------------------
Speak to Valerian again.  He'll ask you to kill 2 military leaders.


Eliminate The Military At The Elevator
--------------------------------------
He towards the elevator just the other side of the embankment.  Kill all the 
Military there.


Eliminate The Military At The Depot
-----------------------------------
Head towards the depot and kill all the military there.


Interrogate The Military Commander
----------------------------------
Head back to the stalker base and speak to the commander again. he'll give you 
the location of Sidorvich's case.


Collect The Loot
----------------
Head back to the stalkers base and Khaletsky will reveal the location of the 
case.  Itís at the old mill.


Return The Loot To The Trader

Return the case to Sidorovich.

Find Freedoms Base
------------------
Easy enough, itís the biggest structure on the north of the map.  You'll get a 
message to see the commandant.


Talk To The Commandant
----------------------
The main building should now be open so go and talk with the commandant.


Kill The Pseudo-Dog Shaggy Encampment
-------------------------------------
Reward: 500 RU

The commandant will give you a mission to kill the Pseudo dog before you can 
talk to the leader.  the dog is to the west of the Freedom base.  Itís called 
the pseudo dog because it creates copies of itself.  You need to shoot the one 
that appears as the red dot on the map.  return to the commandant when itís 
dead.  He'll give you a new mission to deliver some ammunition.


Deliver Ammo To Outpost
-----------------------
Go and speak with Ashot the trader to get the ammo (240 5.56x45mm AP rounds 
and 5 RDG-5 grenades).  Outpost is just south east of base.  Before you can get 
there all the stalkers will be killed.  


Find Out What Happened At The Outpost
--------------------------------------
You need to retrieve the PDA from one of the bodies.  Looks like the commandant 
sold Freedom out.  Return to PDA to Chekhov at the base.  


Return The PDA To Chekhov
--------------------------
Reward: 3000 RU

Return to PDA to Chekhov at the base, heís on the second floor of the newly 
opened structure.  Speak to Chekhov and he'll ask you to get the commandant 
and he'll help you find Fang.  The commandant is on the road near the exit to 
the Cordon.  When you get close to the position marked on the map you get a new 
mission to help Freedom against the mercenaries.


Help Freedom Defeat The Mercenaries

Kill all the mercenaries on the map.


Take The Commandants PDA
------------------------
They have hung the commandant from a tree.  Find him and take his PDA then 
return it to Chekhov.  He'll give you some information and mark Fangs position 
on your PDA.

Find Fang
---------
You need to head to the flea market.  There is a door on the outside that leads 
down. However, before going you need to spend all your money and store all your 
equipment in the chest in the flea market.  The reason is you get knocked 
unconscious and any stuff you have on you along with your money is robbed.

Pick up Fang's PDA
------------------
Grab Fangs PDA from the next room along with some other items including a 
flash drive with data on reinforced body armour.

AGROPRAM REASRCH INSTITUTE

Find The Stalker Groups Stash
-----------------------------
The stash is just east of the base, when you arrive the task will be cancelled 
and you'll need to talk to the commander of the outpost.  


Talk To The Outpost Commander
-----------------------------
He'll tell you to talk to the general and that one of his patrols is heading to 
the base now.  Follow them and fend off the attacks from some mutants.  They'll 
set up camp in the small camp outside Duty's base.  Continue into the base and 
speak with the general.


Talk To the leader of Duty
--------------------------
He's in the big building you couldn't previously access on the top floor.  Talk 
to him and he'll ask you to flood the caverns in return for accessing them.  


Reach The Hole
--------------
The hole is marked on the south of the map.  Stock up on your ammo and head to 
the hole.  There will be loads of mutants and a couple of guys to help you.  I 
don't think you can save the Duty guys so kill the mutants with caution.  when 
you are done a new mission will come up descend into the hole.


Descend Into The Agroprom Underground
-------------------------------------
Enter the underground to complete task


Flood The Underground
---------------------
Note: There is no map for this area other than your minimap.
The general will give you the coordinates of the place you need to go to.  The 
corridor is one giant fire anomaly so without a seva suit and artifacts to keep 
burn down you're screwed!  Follow the hallway right, killing the mutants on 
the way.  At the end there is a ladder up, climb it into a room.  There are 
loads of items to pick up off the shelves before you leave.  When you leave 
the room you get a new message to destroy the mutants.


Destroy the mutants
-------------------
The door will lock behind you and you will need to kill the mutant who has a 
weird power.  When he sees you he uses a psy attack which does loads of damage.
Try and snipe him if he gets up close just lay into him he'll die eventually.
The original mission to flood the underground will be restored.


Flood The Underground
---------------------
Head through to other room and to the place marked on the map in the next room.
Use "F" to turn the valve and then leg it out of the room as you've started a 
count down.


Leave the flooded area
----------------------
Run through the room, down the stairs and left along the hallway.  Climb the 
ladder at the end.

When you reach the top you'll get a new task to receive your reward and the 
find stalkers stash will be reactivated.  You need to get out the place where 
you are, beware there are enemies in the area so proceed with caution.

Go up the stairs and kill the enemy in the hallway.  follow the hallway until 
you see a hole in the wall on the left.  Climb up to fin the stalkers stash at 
the top in a room.


Find The Stalker Groups Stash
-----------------------------
The stash is in the corner of the room pick it up to finish the task.


Leave the underground
---------------------
Don't forget to get the Duty case if you have that side mission.  Follow the 
map to the red mark up the stairs where loads of fire anomalies will appear.
Exit up the ladder back to the surface.  You'll trigger a side quest to get 
your reward from the general.


Talk to Sakharov
---------------
Your next port of call is Yantar to follow Strelock.  Head there when you're 
ready.

YANTAR
================================================================================

Talk to Sakharov
----------------
When you get close to the building in the centre of the map you'll trigger a 
side quest to defend the research centre.  Kill all the zombified who approach 
with the help of the other stalkers.  The zombies will attack frequently and, 
in my opinion, I don't think you can do your tasks and defend the camp.  I 
ignored the defend mission to get the PDA.


Find The PDA With The Documents
-------------------------------
The professor will ask you to find the PDA, itís marked on the west of the map.
Head up there and you'll have to kill a couple of normal dogs and a Pseudo dog.
Once you have killed the dogs proceed to the point on the map and get the PDA 
from the corpse.


Take The Documents To Sakharov
------------------------------
Once you have the PDA return to Sakarov.  He'll ask you to meet Lefty and a 
group of stalkers near the facility.


Meet Lefty
----------
Head up to the facility and meet Lefty.  You can get to him through a hole in 
the fence if you approach from the south.  When you speak to him you will 
start the mission to get into the factory.  Lefty and his boys will come with 
you.  When you get to a check point you will get a new mission to secure the 
hanger roof.


Secure The Hanger Roof
----------------------
Head up the stairs on the side of the building and follow the roof around to 
the point on the map.  This triggers the next part of the mission.


Prevent The Zombies From Getting Close To Stalkers On The Roof
--------------------------------------------------------------
You need to kill as many zombies as possible to prevent them killing the 
stalkers on the roof opposite.  After a while they'll enable the cooling system 
again and tell you to get the hell out of there.  You need to make your way out 
and on to the red forest.

RED FOREST
================================================================================

Go to the Red Forest
--------------------
Your mission is to get to the Red Forest through the factor.


Stop Strelock
-------------
You'll get a new mission to stop Strelock.  You'll see him running ahead of you 
so follow him.  You'll see some stalkers coming towards you from a building.  
Itís an ambush triggering the next part of the mission.


Stop The Ambush
---------------
Kill all the stalkers to complete the objective and reinstate the original 
mission to stop Strelock. You can't catch Strelock and he'll blow the tunnel 
when you get close enough to the marker.  This will fail the stop Strelock 
mission.  One stalker will remain who you can talk to.  


SOS Signal- Help The Witch Circle
---------------------------------
when you approach the ambush with Strelock this mission will trigger.  You need 
to get to the spot marked on the map and kill the pseudo dogs to help the 
stalkers (see side missions).  

Respond to the SOS Signal
-------------------------
You need to head into the forest to the marker on the map to meet Forester.  
You should clear the forest of mutants as marked.  If you speak to the last 
member of the ambush party from the bridge he will give you Strelocks location 
and agree to lead you to Forester.  You can follow him.  Just as easy to make 
your own way though.  When you arrive the mission will change again as everyone 
is dead.


Pick Up the PDA
---------------
Get the PDA of one of the bodies.  This will trigger the next mission.


Find A Way To The Anomalous Area
--------------------------------
You need to find your way to get to the area marked on the map.  When you are 
there your mission will change to find the space anomaly.  
Note: You can ask the stalkers for a quest and they will move into the devils 
encampment which makes the trip easier and gives you an artifact.


Find The Space Anomaly
----------------------
The space anomaly is in the far north of the map, above a tank in an area 
infested with mutants.  You need to find the tank and jump into the teleporter, 
you'll appear inside the duty encampment.


Talk To Forester
----------------
Forester is in a building in the north of the encampment.  Speak to him and 
he'll tell you to speak to the commander in the military encampment.

MILITARY WAREHOUSE

Speak To The commander
----------------------
Simply speak to the commander at the checkpoint and he'll tell you to head down 
to the mercenaries in the village.  


Meet The Mercenaries In The Village
-----------------------------------
The mercenaries are in the big village in the east of the map.  Go and talk to 
them.  You'll get a new side mission, kill the bloodsucker and main task of 
recieve the transmission.


Receive The Transmission
------------------------
Go over to the tower and kill the bloodsucker outside.  Ascend the tower and 
you'll get a garbled radio message.  Your next task is to speak with Forester.

Speak With Forester

Some dogs will appear that you'll need to kill then head over to the Red Forest 
to speak to Forester to complete the mission.


Find The Compass Artifact
-------------------------
This is held by bandits in the mine just outside the southern wall.  It looks 
like a disco ball.  Fight your way in and collect the Artifact.


Bring The Compass To Forester
-----------------------------
Itís sad to give this up because itís such a great artifact but to continue you 
must.  You get a Vintar BC rifle in return which is hardly compensation.  It is 
modified but still a poor exchange.  He'll tell you that you will need to go to 
the Military Warehouse which should have a transmitter big enough to speak to 
the missing stalkers.

Go To Army Camp

Just enter the Military Warehouse map to complete this objective.


Talk To The Mercenaries
-----------------------
You need to talk to the mercenaries again.  They'll give you the option of 
working with Freedom, make your choice.  You need to then take out the military.


Eliminate The Military
----------------------
Follow the map to the spot marked and kill all the military.  Loot all their 
stuff before switching the transmitter because the base will fill up with some 
mutant dogs.


Transmit Co-ordinates
---------------------
Once the Military are dead you can transmit the coordinates from the point 
shown on the map.  Climb the tower and use the machine.  You'll get a message 
to meet Lebedev back at the bridge from Red Forest to Limansk.  Thatís your 
next destination.

Meet Lebedev
------------
Head back and meet Lebedev by the bridge.  When you get there they will be in a 
fire fight with the bandits.  You will need to help out.  Speak to Lebedev.


Assume Firing Position
----------------------
He'll ask you to take a shooting position on the second floor.  Wait for the 
mercenaries to arrive.  Then start shooting.


Wait Until the squad arrives
----------------------------
Wait for the mercenaries to arrive before firing.


Cover The Mercenaries
---------------------
Keep killing bandits until the Stalkers secure a position.  


Cover Mercenaries Near Control Panel
------------------------------------
Continue killing the bandits to protect the mercenaries.


Eliminate The Snipers On The Hill
---------------------------------
Kill the snipers on the hill behind the bridge that pop up occasionally.


Help Clear Sky Capture The Bridge
---------------------------------
Reward: 50000 RU and FT 200M

When you eventually capture the bridge you'll complete this mission.  You'll 
get a new mission to scout the road to Limansk but I would head back and get 
your reward from the clear sky base.  Before going to Limansk make sure you 
have a medikit in your inventory.

LIMANSK
================================================================================

Scout The Road Through Limansk
------------------------------
Follow the party up to the house where you meet a bandit who will surrender.  
He'll ask you for a medikit, give him one and he'll mark the bandit ambush spot 
on the map.  

Scout around the ambush otherwise you'll have three snipers to deal with and 
recurring booby traps on the point marked.  

As you get further up the road you'll see a solitary stalker behind a truck 
who'll call you over.  A street fight between bandits and Monolith is taking 
place.  

Take Out The Machine Gun Nest
-----------------------------
You get this mission from the solitary mercenary by the truck near the gun 
fight in the town.  He'll draw their fire whilst you empty the building on the 
left of Monolith and take out the machine gun nest.  When you take out a few 
stalkers in the building the clear sky stalkers will come and help.  
Eventually you'll clear the house and the road.


Scout The Road Through Limansk
------------------------------
Go up to the stalkers and you'll be told that As they Clear sky stalkers move 
forward to the crossroads this will trigger another side mission (destroy the 
enemy at the crossroads).  


Destroy The Enemy At The Crossroads
-----------------------------------
You get this when the clear sky stalkers are ambushed at the crossroads.  Kill 
all the enemies.  The mercenaries will move further into Limansk.


Move Towards The Bridge Near The Canal
--------------------------------------
Follow the mercenaries aging and you'll get ambushed, again...  Just run 
through the building on the right to find your way to the bridge.  When you get 
close enough to the bridge you'll trigger the next mission, find the group 
commander.


Find The Group Commander
------------------------
When you meet the group commander you'll complete the mission.


Suppress The Machine Gunner
--------------------------
If you have a sniper rifle just pop a cap in his head from a distance and the 
clear sky stalkers will advance on the house.  Follow them and pick off 
remaining military on the way.

Head out of the north east of the house and continue to follow the path 
(there is only one route).  You'll get to lots of those transporter anomalies.  
Walk around them and through the bus to get past them.  Continue heading 
towards the objective.


Find Your Way Through The Construction Site
-------------------------------------------
Once you're through the transporter anomalies head north to trigger this side 
task.  You need to walk up a series of stairs to get to the construction site.  
Itís full of Monolith stalkers which you'll have to kill (around 20 or so).  
You need to go through and up to the third floor, climb out a window and drop 
onto some scaffolding.  Make your way to the gate in the corner to meet up with 
the Clear Sky Stalkers.


Help The Fighters Sneak Up On The Sniper
----------------------------------------
As you approach the goal a sniper will appear in the tower.  You should use 
your sniper rifle to take him out.  Kill any other enemies before speaking to 
the commander.


Speak To The Group Commander
----------------------------
When the sniper is dead, go and speak to the commander.  He'll tell you that 
there is a fence along the road and itís electrified.  You need to find the 
power source and shut it down.


Find Generator
--------------
The commander will ask you to find the generator.  Go into the building to the 
right of the road to the point marked on the map.  The task will be updated.


Deactivate The Generator
------------------------
The generator is in the building marked on the map.  Go up in the attic and 
out onto the roof.  Follow the roof to the next building then along some pipes 
onto the next building.  Kill the enemy who pops out and continue.  You should 
on a roof with a sign.  Go towards the light and into the building.  Climb the 
ladder to the top and go along over the boxes.  There is a switch for the 
generator, switch it to complete the objective.


Scout The Road Through Limansk
------------------------------
Climb down the ladder and back to the ground.  Head for the objective on the 
map to leave Limansk.  Before doing so you can repair your equipment by 
talking to any of the stalkers marked with the cross.

10.10 - Deserted Hospital
================================================================================

Find A Way To Chernobyl NPP
---------------------------
Follow the map forwards (you can only go one way).  You'll get a cry for help 
so keep going down through a hole underground, up some stairs and meet some 
stalkers.  They'll ask you to take out a sniper and machine gunner.  
Should be easy enough with your sniper rifle, however for some reason you 
can't kill him.  Equip an assault rifle and sneak up on him.


Sneak Up On The Sniper
----------------------
The group will distract the sniper so you can sneak up on him.  When the 
stalkers give the signal run to the right of the structure and through a 
alcove to hide.  You'll get a new task, get to the other side of the hall.


Get To The Other Side Of The Hall
---------------------------------
Shot the 2 guys across the hallway.  Use your sniper rifle and you'll be able 
to kill the machine gunner.  Head down the stairs on the stalkers command head 
across to the opposite side.


Get To The Bridge
-----------------
Go up the stairs and kill the three guys in the hallway to the left.  Watch 
out as the sniper in the roof will be taking pot shots at you.  Head to the 
point on the map along the balcony.  Use the archways as cover.  watch out as 
more guys will appear on the opposite balcony so take them out.  When you 
reach the bridge more enemies will come from the balcony opposite.  Take them 
out before crossing.


Kill The Sniper
---------------
When you get to the other side you will be able to kill the sniper, so do it!  
Cover the stalkers as they make their way along the hallway.  Kill any enemies 
that pop up.  When they are at the end make your way over to them and kill the 
3 enemies that follow.  Repair your weapons and armour before continuing.


Find A Way To Chernobyl NPP
---------------------------
Go through the hole in the wall into another hallway.  You'll need to head for 
cover fast as you'll be overwhelmed and exposed by the hole.  I would suggest 
going down the stairs to the left, killing any enemies in the way and hide 
under the stairs to recuperate.  You'll hear a helicopter.  After some 
communications chatter you'll see a health bar of the helicopter in the top 
right of the screen.  You'll need to head outside and shoot it down.  However, 
there may still be some enemies to kill to so try take them out.  The 
helicopter is easy, just soot it from cover and you can drop it in 2 clips of 
any assault rifle.

You'll hear footsteps if you've hidden away as more enemies come looking for 
you.  Take them out.  Head up to the second floor and follow the balcony to 
the right.  In the far right hand corner you'll find a room with a hole in the 
floor.  Drop trough the hole.  Go forward and down the stairs and out through 
the doorway into another hallway.

This hallway has a machine gunner over the mound and enemies walking around 
the upper balconies.  You need to trigger the machine gunner to shoot at you 
then run back to entrance you came in.  The door will lock behind you and some 
stalkers will come after you.  Kill any that try.  The friendly stalkers will 
come to your aid sealing off entrances to the room to stop more enemies.  Kill 
any remaining enemies and the machine gunner.  Eventually you'll be told to 
go into the catacombs and the door where you come in will be open again.

Chernobyl NPP
================================================================================

Lebedev will talk to you before you appear up on a walkway.  

Note: You can't seem to shoot the enemies at ground level but everyone else 
      seems fair game.

Incapacitate Strelocks Psy Protection
-------------------------------------
You will be given a gauss rifle and FT 200M which will increase your weight 
by around 20 KG so you need to make sure you can handle the weight.  I would 
get rid of stuff you don't want because you will be trapped on a high ridge 
when you get control of your character and will probably be shot if you can't 
move.  Now, head along the platform to the teleporter and go through it.  


Find The Teleport That Leads To The Pipeline
--------------------------------------------
Kill the three guys and go through the telporter at the end.  Make your way to 
the end quickly because more enemies will teleport in.


Incapacitate Strelocks Psy Protection
-------------------------------------
You'll be on the walkway again closer to Strelock. The objective will be 
completed.  Follow the walkway again to the next teleporter and use it.


Find The Teleport That Leads To The Pipeline
--------------------------------------------
Shot the enemies and head to the next teleporter.  You'll be on the roof which 
Strelock climbed down at the start of the level.  Your objective for the next 
jump is in the corner of the building.  You need to kill the enemies and make 
your way there.  Before you get there more enemies will materialise, kill them 
and go through the teleporter.  When you get closer still more enemies will 
materialise, kill them too.  Go into teleporter.


Incapacitate Strelocks Psy Protection
-------------------------------------
Go along the walkway killing the enemies that appear.  At the fork go right.
Climb over the obstacles and kill two more enemies that appear.  Climb over 
some more boxes.  Go ahead further and kill another 2 enemies that appear.
Instead of going up the ladder, jump up on the wall to the left.  Crawl along 
the wall and drop down onto the pipes then onto the ground.  Head to the 
position marked on the map and you'll see Strelock.  Get your Gauss gun out 
and shoot him until the health bar hits 0.  He won't retaliate and thatís the 
end of the game.  I am not sure if this is how you're supposed to complete the 
game but it seems to work.

12.01 - SWAMP

The swamp is fairly linear in missions you are offered.  I would complete all 
the missions first and then do your searching later in the swamp.  I found that 
it is impossible to complete all the missions for taking areas so don't worry 
too much about cancelled missions.  

Some missions I have listed I wasn't able to complete in the time allowed 
(you'll find this a lot when you join a faction).  I have listed the mission 
but not the reward.  Usually around 500 RU for defend missions and 600 RU for 
attacking missions.

As you approach the embankment you'll get a call for help off the Stalkers at 
the bus stop. head over and kill the military for a reward.  On harder levels 
this is very difficult.  I avoided it on master level because I didn't have 
any decent guns.  You can avoid it by leaving to the swamp by the southern 
entrance.  Then come in at the top entrance from the swamp.


Eliminate The Bandits From Farmstead Ruin

You get this from Shilov the trader.  Basically head east out the camp and over 
the road.  Their are 5 bandits holed up in the building you need to kill.  
Return for your reward.

You get this from any stalker on the map.  The anomaly is to the north west of 
the Stalker base.  Its hidden in the bush behind the anomaly return to stalker 
then claim your reward. 


Find the PDA

Under the bridge between the depot and novice stalker base you'll find a 
military guy called Semyon Lambee.  He was Khaletsky's driver and wants you to 
find a PDA. It's in a tunnel at the end of the train track only you can't get 
it because of some telporter.  To get past the teleporter go to the bridge in 
the centre of the map.  You'll see an anomaly in mid air.  You need to climb 
to the top of the bridge and jump in it.  I would save because I died several 
times trying to achieve this!  Grab all the stuff inside the tunnel, including 
the PDA.  return for your reward.


Rescue Wolfs Brother
--------------------
Reward: 1500 RU

His location is marked on the map, he's in the tunnel at the end of a road 
from the depot.  Kill the 5 bandits guarding him then talk to him in the tunnel.
They won't kill him so take your time.  Give him a gun if you want to but he 
won't need one.  Escort him back to the base and get your reward.


Retrieve Medikit NPR-21p
------------------------
Reward: 2500 RU

This is found in the military base on the south of the map.  Its hard to get, 
this is the way I got it.  Follow the eastern most fence to the bottom of the 
map.  Climb over a tree to get over the fence.  The east wall of the barracks 
can be climbed over.  Take out the guard patrolling the eastern wall.  Then 
kill the guard looking at the building where the sniper is.  Then kill the 
sniper and go up into the room on the second floor.  The item you want is in 
the store box on the top shelf.  Exit the room and drop down over the wall 
outside the base.  Return the same way you came along the eastern fence.  The 
enemies will respawn so be careful.  Return to the stalker with your reward.

2) The bandits can lose their camp but as no one seems to want to take over 
   the Depot they just respawn.  If you join the stalkers this secondary 
   mission stays with you the entire game.

3) Garin, the technician, has loads of information on flash drive stashes.  

4) Tooth also has information on flash drive locations.

5) Inside the bandit base there are two artifacts in a chest, Moonlight and 
   Night Star.  The chest is in a hallway on the right hand side as you enter 
   the building.  You have to open a gate to get inside.  Near to where the 
   trader is.  Only open if you attack the bandits!

6) Bandits at exits will rob you if you let them.  Just run past them.

Talk to Wild Napr in the flea pit and he'll give you this mission.  Go to the

will get a scientific medikit and it will cost you nothing.  Head west to the 
destination to meet Stringov.  They'll open fire on you and you'll need to 
kill them all (changes mission to kill the traitor).  


Kill the Traitor

When he's dead the task will change to get the items from the body.  Search 
the body to get a PDA and head back to speak to Wild Napr.


Take the concentration camp

Once you have completed the buy medikit quest Wild Napr will offer you another 
task to take the concentration camp from the bandits.  The first part of this 
task is to meet the diggers in the south just outside the camp.  When you get 
there the task will change to kill the guards at the concentration camp.  You 
will have 5 stalkers assisting you and you won't have any time to prepare.  
There are 8 bandits at the camp you need to kill.  When you kill them the 
stalkers will take give you a location of a stash as a reward.

Capture: Shore Of Small Swamp

Reward: 600 RU

Speak to the Freedom guys on the east of the garbage and they'll ask you to 
help and take the small shore.  Go with them and kill the few bandits there.  
Then kill the party that comes looking for them.  You need to go to the dark 
valley to pick up your reward.

The best thing about this mission is that the bandits will always come and take 
the shore back when you leave so you can keep repeating this for lots of cash.

12.07 - Red Forest

Information
-----------
1) The Red Forest is very dangerous because there are invisible mutants lurking 
   along with pseudo dogs.  Invisible mutants are very quick and can do a lot 
   of damage.

2) Mutants will respawn

3) The anomaly bumble above the tank will teleport you into a sealed area in 
   the north west of the map.

4) When you have talked to Forester the gates to the camp are opened and Duty 
   usually try and clear the mine nearby.

5) The Compass artifact is in the mine.

6) The mine has a second level which you can fall down if you're not careful.  
   You need to go here to complete a side mission.


SOS Signal- Help The Witch Circle

when you complete the ambush mission and Strelock blows the bridge will trigger 
this mission.  You need to get to the spot marked on the map and kill the 
mutants.  Mainly dogs and pseudo dogs.  Hold the position as this mission may 
play twice before the area becomes safe.


Return Item: Tank Machine Gun
-----------------------------
Reward: 7500

Get this from one of the stalkers in the Witch Circle or one of the Duty 
Stalkers.  This is a very difficult task purely because half way through the 
which camp can be attacked and the stalker who gave you the mission dies.  
There are also a lot of mutants on the way and guarding the tank with the 
machine gun.  The other thing of note is it weights 33.5 KG so you need to be 
able to carry it.

The item is in the far north east of the forest marked on the map.  You have to 
follow the ridge around the centre of the forest and north through a tunnel.  
There are a lot of snork mutants here so snipe them from a distance.  You'll 
also meet a pseudo giant that waddles and attacks with melee and a chemical 
punch the ground type attack.  This mutant takes a lot of damage to put down 
(five or so assault rifle clips!).  Continue on your way.  The tank is guarded 
by several more snorks kill them and get the machine gun from the top of the 
tank.  Return the gun to the stalker to complete the task.

An easy way of killing the mutant is to climb on the big rock by the camp and 
it can't get to you.  Shoot it at your leisure.


Capture The Deadly Encampment

Then you find the stalkers in the south east of the map one of them will give 
you a mission to guard them whilst they hunt for artifacts.  They say they will 
reward you with an artifact for you trouble.  If you accept they will secure 
the camp on the way to the camp making the tank machine gun quest a hell of a 
lot easier.  Talk to the guy who gave you the quest for your reward.


Return Item: A PDA With The Map Of The Red Forest

Reward: 1500 RU

Get this from a stalker in the Duty camp.  You already have one but you can 
pick up another one in the marked location in the forest.  Its on a body near 
electrical anomalies.  Return for your reward.


Return Item: Experimental Device
--------------------------------
Reward: 3500 RU

Get this mission from a stalker in the duty camp.  He wants an experimental 
item returning from the mine.  Go to the mine and you'll find a ladder to use 
it you need to shoot the planks blocking it.  When you descend the ladder two 
moving electrical anomalies will start moving around and throwing stuff at you.
I took cover at the top of the tunnel and kept shooting them.  After a while 
they disappeared and a member of duty opened up the hole in the wall next to me.
I then picked up the item off the dead body and returned it for my reward.


Return Item - "Meat Chunks"

Reward: 

Get this from a Stalker in the north of the map.  He'll ask you return an 
artifact in the swamp in the east of the map.  This is very tough because 
you'll have to deal with chemical poison and two psy mutants who appear after 
you get the item.

When you rescue the mercenaries and secure the bridge talk to Leshy and he'll 
give you an artifact as a reward.

You get this mission from one of the Freedom stalkers.  A pack of Pseudo Dogs 
can be found to the east with some bodies, one of which has the PDA.  Kill The 
dogs and search the body for the PDA.  Return it for your reward.  The bonus 
here is you get the money directly, no need to go all the way back to the 
Freedom base!


Return Item: Accumulators

Reward: 2000 RU

Get this mission from one of the Freedom Stalkers.  You'll find it guarded by a 
group of Monolith stalkers east of the Duty camp.  It's between two stalker 
camps on the map.  When you've killed them all take the accumulators from the 
box near the helicopter.


Return Item: 7.62x54mm Rounds

You get this from a Freedom stalker near the exit to garbage.  You need to 
retrieve the ammunition from the dead sniper inside the military base.  Fight 
your way past the mutant dogs at the entrance.  find the body, get the ammo and 
return for your reward.


Return Item: Flame
------------------
Reward: GP 37 and 5.56x45 AP Rounds x120

Get this from Freedom stalker.  He'll ask you to kill some mutants and get the 
flame artifcat then return it to him.  The artifact is to the east in a house.
Go inside and pick up the artifact from a body.  You'll get attacked by an 
invisible mutant, so kill him.  Then return the object for a reward.


Return Item: Meat Chunk
-----------------------
Reward: 4000 RU

You get this task from a stalker in the camp in the north of the map.  He wants 
you to retrieve an artifact called "meat chunk" from a hut by the lake in the 
east.  The hut is surrounded by chemical anomalies and you'll also need some 
telepathy defence here too.  Inside the hut pick up the item off the body then 
run.  Outside 2 telepathic mutants will try and kill you.  Running is the best 
option to get away from the effects of the anomalies.  Return the item for a 
reward.


Kill The Bloodsucker
--------------------
Reward: Nothing

This mission will kick off when you meet the mercenaries in the village.  Its 
standing just outside the tower.  Kill it.
