I love Sam & Max. I have ever since Hit the Road shaped, broke then reshaped
my young mind. It came to me as part of the LucasArts Adventure Pack way back
when my psyche was still pure. Sam & Max fixed that right quick.

I was, of course, overjoyed when Telltale and GameTap announced that the dog
and lagomorph would be returning. Subsequently, I was slightly disappointed
that they seemed clean-cut and wholesome compared to their early days.

Finally, toward the end of Season 2, TTG seems to be getting the hang of the
franchise. Things are truly getting interesting.

This also seemed a quick and easy project to accomplish. I'm lazy.

The reason it is so long in coming is that I was gone for several months when
the last episode of Season 2 came out. I always wanted to see this guide
appear, but it never did, despite the ease of its creation. So I took it upon
myself.

The "Terms and Guidelines" section, as always, gives some common things you
should keep in mind while using the guide. Nothing special.

Each section of "PimpleCar" tells what you can earn for your DeSoto in each
episode and how to get it. It's as simple as that.

1. Find Function - This guide is based on a series of semi-unique text strings.
These are found in pairs inside square brackets []. The
strings are all five alphanumerics long and come in pairs.
Using your browser's Find Function (almost always Ctrl+F)
will allow you to use a text string to jump to the data you
                   are looking for.

2. Lake Titicaca - It lies between Bolivia and Peru. It's for real!

To pimp your DeSoto, visit the C.O.P.S. who hang out in the garage all the way
to the right on Straight Street (the area outside Sam & Max's Office). The
driving game they offer is usually available at or near the start of each
episode.

Episodes 1-3 and 5 each have five decals you can ear for your DeSoto
(technically seven, but two are overidden by other decals).

In addition, 1-3 have two upgrades for your DeSoto (one is mission oriented and
the other a cosmetic upgrade). Episode 5 has a mission oriented upgrade that
is NOT given by the C.O.P.S. and two cosmetic upgrades.

Episode 4 has no driving sequences or car upgrades in it.

It should be noted that you only need to play the C.O.P.S. driving game to get
the mission oriented upgrades (except Episode 5) and the Bronze/Silver/Gold
decals.

The game is running over and/or shooting stray Torture-Me-Elmers on the street.
You have a set time limit to take out a certain number. The task is not hard
at all, and you should have no problem getting all the upgrades.

Mission Upgrade: Horseman of Death
     Beat the driving game once.
Usage Hint - Santa needs an exorcism.

Bronze/Silver/Gold Decal: Torture-Me-Elmer
Beat the driving game one/two/three more time(s) after earning the
Horseman of Death to earn this decal.

Cheese Wheel Decal
The wheel of cheese will be rolling along a crossing street, rolling to
the right and should almost be off the right side when you reach it.

Bowling Pin Decal
There are ten pins set up in the middle of the road. Your car is just
slightly too narrow to hit them all at once, so move at a slight angle
while passing through them to knock them all down.

Piano Decal
The piano hangs over the right sidewalk, shoot it down.

Blimp Decal
The blimp will be flying high in the sky slowly from the left side of the
     screen. Shoot it.

Cosmetic Upgrade: Engine Air Intakes
Earn all the decals available in Episode 1.

| B) Episode 2: Moai Better Blues [EP200] |
| |
+=============================================================================+

It's never been done before! A game based off of rhythm and music! You must
hit the bagpipes as they come at you to play the song and avoid the accordians
as they will cause a sour note. You have a meter to the right on the screen
that shows how you are doing. Missing a bagpipe or hitting an accordian will
cause it to go down. Hitting bagpipes in without missing will slowly fill it.

The game is not very hard. The best advice is to hit the bagpipes without
regard for the accordians. You will lose a lot more from your meter from
missing a bagpipe than hitting an accordian, and continuous hits on the
bagpipes will fill your meter up anyways.

Mission Upgrade: Horn
     Beat the driving game once.
Usage Hint - Baby Glenn Miller is looking for that hot, new sound.
Note - Once used, you can reattach the Horn to your DeSoto, but it will
not be there in subsequent Episodes like the cosmetic upgrades.

Bronze/Silver/Gold Decal: Bagpipes
Beat the driving game one/two/three more time(s) after earning the Horn to
     earn this decal.

Tire Decal
The tire will be rolling along a crossing street, coming in from the right
side. It should still be towards the right side of the screen as you come
     up to it.

Safe Decal
The safe is dangling over the left sidewalk. Shoot it down.

Hot Air Balloon Decal
The hot air balloon hangs high in the sky in the center of the screen.
     Shoot it.

Kitchen Sink Decal
Probably the hardest decal to get. The kitchen sink is flying over the
street, and the direction it is travelling seems to be random. It,
frankly, looks like a pigeon flying over the street, and you will pass
under it very quickly unless you are driving slowly (use the down arrow
key). It also may take a while to get it to appear. You could try just
shooting in the air above your car to try and hit it, but it may take a
     while to hit it.

Cosmetic Upgrade: Hula Doll
Earn all the decals available in Episode 2.

You're proselytizing online service to zombies. It's really a Paperboy clone.
As you travel down the road, use the right mouse button to fire trial software
discs at unsuspecting zombies (do they really suspect anything, ever?). You
must distribute the CD's to a certain number of zombies in a certain amount of
time. No points are scored for running zombies over, but it is fun.

The only trick to this game is firing early, based on how far away the zombie
is, since the discs will curve slightly once fired. If zombies are sparse on
your side of the street, you can move over until the other side becomes
visible, but this is never necessary to complete the challenges.

Mission Upgrade: Car Antenna
     Beat the driving game once.
Usage Hints - 1. Getting it off the DeSoto will require some major cutting
                      power.
                   2. Those Nev-R-Die Batteries sure run out of juice fast.

Bronze/Silver/Gold Decal: Zombie Head
Beat the driving game one/two/three more time(s) after earning the Car
     Antenna to get this decal.

Ball Decal
The ball will be rolling along a crossing street, coming in from the left.
You need to be facing the left side of the street to get it.

Keg Decal
The keg is on the lawns on the left side of the street. Some zombies are
     standing around it.

Kite Decal
The kite is blowing in from the right side along a crossing street. You
must be facing the right side to see it.

Satellite Dish Decal
The satellite dish is on the lawns on the right side of the street.

Cosmetic Upgrade: Flame Paint Job
Earn all the decals available in Episode 3.

It will be a long time before you see this driving game. Once you return from
Hell after destroying its efficiency, you can play it.

This game is tricky. You must shoot hellspawned rats before your DeSoto runs
them down. You must score a certain number of points before time runs out.
Shooting a rat is worth a point, running it over loses one point.

The best way to do this is to lead your DeSoto with your crosshairs, firing
constantly. The car will always try to hit the next rat it will come to (least
driving distance between it and the rat). So you can try to take out that rat
before your DeSoto reaches it to avoid losing a point. Also, try to work as
far ahead as possible (you can hit the rats shortly after they appear on your
screen). The rats are easy to see from a great distance.

Mission Upgrade: Nitrous Oxide
This upgrade is NOT earned through the driving game. You find it in Hell
     inside the Theater Diorama.
Usage Hint - There must be some way to speed up your Hellbound DeSoto.

Bronze/Silver/Gold Decal: Rat
Beat the driving game one/two/three time(s) once it becomes available.

Doughnut Decal
The doughnut will be rolling in from the right along a crossing street.
It should still be by the right side of the screen when you get to it.
Unless you're lucky, you'll need to shoot it since you can't control your
     DeSoto.

Soccer Ball Decal
The soccer ball is flying slightly above the right side of the street,
moving left as it falls. Shoot the damn thing.

Flying Car Decal
The flying car will hover in the sky over the middle of the street for
short periods of time. Shoot it in your jealous rage since your DeSoto
     doesn't kiss the sky.

Rubber Ducky Decal
The rubber ducky is hard to miss. It's a giant, yellow mass that fills up
the left side of the screen. Gamera's not there to fight, so shoot it.

Cosmetic Upgrade 1: Custom Grill
Earn all the decals available in Episode 5.

Cosmetic Upgrade 2: Siren & Lights
Earn every decal and upgrade available in Season 2.

01: Can I keep the mission oriented upgrades between Episodes?
No, the only one that doesn't disappear after use is the Horn in
Episode 2, and even putting it back on your car doesn't keep it there
          for Episodes 3-5.

02: Will my car keep the upgrades for Season 3?
The answer is unknown right now. We'll have to wait and see.

03: How do I do blah blah blah?
This is not a walkthrough, and I won't be answering questions based
on how to get through the game. If you are having problems, there
are a number of FAQ's ready for any Episode on GameFAQs.com.

04: I found something wrong with your information or I am confused.
Yes. Send me an e-mail and I'll look into your problem/solution. I
wrote this entire thing from memory, so some of the information might
be wrong (which direction some objects move in come to mind).
