"Leave Us With More"

Left 4 Dead 2 is the next installment to of course Left 4 Dead 1. To the amazement of many the Left 4 Dead 1 has only been released for about nearly a year. Valve, surprised by the high percentage sales began developing Left 4 Dead 2 immediately. Many new content have been added to Left 4 Dead 2 such as new campaigns, new weapons, new survivors, five new special infected, and a new AI Director which makes the game seem much more realistic.

Recently Valve has just released two additional programs for Left 4 Dead 2, the Left 4 Dead 2 Authoring Tools and Left 4 Dead 2 Add-on Support. Going more in-depth, the Left 4 Dead 2 Authoring Tools allows users to customize and create their own playable Campaigns, Survival maps, Versus maps, and Scavenge maps online. The Left 4 Dead 2 Add-on Support allows users to play both Left 4 Dead 1 and Left 4 Dead 2 custom maps. Aside from this Valve also plans to release in there Download Center (DLC) Left 4 Dead 2 : The Passing, a campaign set after the events of Left 4 Dead 2 and features the collision between the characters of Left 4 Dead 1 and Left 4 Dead 2 bringing the grand total of survivors to eight. The download will bring a new campaign, a new special infected, new weapons, new cooperative game play, and a new unannounced mode. The promotion of Left 4 Dead 2 content will be immense in future updates.

Now getting into the real deal of the game. There is pretty much no storyline besides the fact that you have to kill zombies and get to the end to escape from them. In each campaign they present a Finale in which the cast must be able to survive by reaching their destination vehicle such as a car, or helicopter, or boat. The game is a first person shooter of course but you have the chance to change the view of the screen to either third person. Teamwork is the main key in this game, if you run without your team there is a high chance that you will die. Going into more information about the new special infected. There is the Jockey who rides the survivor and controls there movements. Then there is the Spitter which just practically spits acid and releases acid on its death. Lastly is the Charger which with great forces charges its target and slams them into the ground until it has been killed. The game also gives you the chance to play the roles of the special infected in the modes Versus or Scavenge.

All the weapons return from the previous Left 4 Dead as well as new additional weapons have been added. Most of the new weapons are melee weapons which require close quarters combat. The weapons include a chainsaw, a katana, a frying pan for some reason, a guitar, a baton (Club), an axe, a cricket bat, a crow bar, and a machete. There are also new items as well such as the defibrillator which allows the revival of a dead survivor, and also Adrenaline Shots which allows faster movements of the user.

There are as well various achievements ranging up to fifty accomplishments, some ranging from easy to quite difficult. Some of the achievements force you to experience the other modes which are Versus, Survival, Scavenge, and Realism. The two new modes presented in Left 4 Dead 2 are Scavenge in which players team up in a 4 versus 4 match, one side being the survivors and one side being the infected. The survivors are required to collect gasoline cans and fill up there main objective, and the infected are required to stop them. The mode will swap the teams so each team can have the experience to play as both in a match. In Realism mode the game is displayed in a more realistic view. There are no more outlines of your teammates making communication ESSENTIAL. There are also no more outline of items which can make your arsenal smaller. There are no more revival closets which allow the revival of teammates and many more major and minor changes in game play.

There are five campaigns in this installment. First campaign is Dead Center, which brings you all the way from a hotel to a mall teaming with zombies. The second campaign is Dark Carnival, you start off at a highway leading you to Whispering Oaks, a theme park. The third campaign is Swamp Fever which is pretty self-explanatory, you are stuck at a swamp. The fourth campaign is Hard Rain, you must retrieve gasoline for your vehicle to move, the path leads you through a neighborhood all the way to a factory and then to a gas station. The fifth campaign is Parish, one of the most urban campaigns, you will basically be fending through a city to park to a burial ground and for the Finale a really long bridge. You have the option of picking the difficulty from Easy, Normal, Advanced, and Expert. Roughly playing through all the campaigns on Easy you would probably come across each campaign in one hour, now perhaps increasing the difficulty to Expert the duration of the campaigns may increase over to five to seven hours depending on the skill of all four players.

Leading into one of the two addition programs Valve released the Left 4 Dead 2 Authoring Tools allows you to create any map on how the developers made the levels. You may find many many familiar series such as the Resident Evil Series, the Silent Hill series, even 1993s Doom series. The developing kit presents to you utilities and applications to create almost anything that you desire including your home. The level of creativity spans enormously.

There are loads of replay-ability options in Left 4 Dead 2, you can even create your own models if you feel as if you do not like the current survivors or current infected or create your own campaigns, maps, levels to your liking and distribute it to the community. Many dramatic changes have been made to Left 4 Dead 2 engine such as the graphics have improved to become more crisp and the sound is superb which has improved is mostly the AI Director which drives the Left 4 Dead series into its unique game play, it also customizes the enemy population, effects, environment, lighting, and music. Though the game may not be frightening at all the action makes up for it, you almost will never have a break from killing zombies.

In conclusion, I highly recommend you to buy Left 4 Dead 2, it has lead as one of the top fives in every gamer chart ,Left 4 Dead 2 will keep you playing for months and months even if you have completed all the campaigns or achievements there is always survival mode to master and creating your own teams to dominate in either Versus or Scavenge. In my opinion you will not regret buying Left 4 Dead 2 at all. The $49.99 or whatever price that you buy Left 4 Dead 2 at is definitely worth it.
