Dragon Age: Origins - Warden's Keep

Soldier's Peak-door to 'shrine' area remains locked, what do I do?

The door I am supposed to go through to get to the area marked 'shrine' on the map and eventually leads to the bridge, remains locked. Is there a key I missed, something I forgot to do, or is this a bug?Please help!
