~==Introduction==~
The game "SM64DS" is extremely glitchy. Now don't get me wrong, these glitches
are far from bad things! They aren't the bad type of glitch, which will mess
up your game, but the good kind, which you can use to your advantage. They
will provide you with a lot of fun, and will keep you playing the game for a
long time after you collect all 150 stars.
~==Version information==~
1.0 Started FAQ. Added most of the glitches in the game.
1.1 First update. Added more glitches. Fixed a few spelling errors. Added a
few more things to the "Credits" section.
~==Glitch list==~
*IMPORTANT NOTE*
This game, although not everyone knows it, has more than one version. This
means that in some copies of the game, certain glitches won't work. The reason
for this is because Nintendo caught on to the glitches present in the first
version, and removed A LOT of them from the other versions.
This is the simplest way to determine your version:
Go to Shifting Sand Land, choose any star except stars 1 and 5, as in star 1,
Klepto the evil flying Condor is holding a star, and in star 5, he doesn't
seem to be in the level... Anyway, pick up the hat of another character. (It
doesn't matter which hat you take, as long as you do take one). When you have
one, go over to where Klepto is flying around. (At the back of the pyramid
near the little pond) Look at the foot of the nearby pillars, and you'll see a
small "cork" box. Pick it up, and with it in your hands, run over to Klepto.
Stand still (it's extremely important that you're stationary) and let him hit
you. If the game freezes, then you have version 1. In the FAQ, it'll be
refered to as "V1". If it doesn't freeze, you either have version 2, which
will be called "V2", the European version, which will be called "EUR", or
the Australian version, which will be called "AUS"
To tell whether you have V2, EUR, or AUS, all you have to do is know where
you got it from. If it's a US copy, but the game doesn't freeze after that
glitch, it's V2. If it's a copy bought in Europe, it's EUR, and if you bought
it in Australia or New Zealand, it's AUS.
*ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTE*
A few of the glitches in the FAQ will consist of your character falling
through a box. These glitches are all done by the same method. Jump onto the
box (which must be against a wall) and stand against the wall, and go into
First Person Mode. Turn the camera so that it's behind the wall, and exit
First Person Mode. If the glitch has worked, you will fall through the box.
Anyway, on with the glitches!
NOTE: Any glitches which have been discovered between the last version and
the current one will have a "*NEW*" next to them (without the quotation
marks of course) so just use "Ctrl F" and type in *NEW* to find the newest
discoveries.
==Bob-omb Batlefield==
Heavens portal 1.
Version: Any.
Go to the cannon near the little Koopa, who appears after star 2. Jump in the
cannon, and aim so that the top arrow of the aimer is in line with the bottom
of the floating island. Shoot and hold up, and you will get shot far into the
sky. If you move fast enough in the sky, you can go over the levels
boundaries, and will eventually fall to your death. Discovered by
Nintendofands96 & Bisnicks.
Heavens portal 2.
Version: Any.
Go to the cannon which is over the bridge, and past Chain Chomps gate. Get in
it, and aim it as far to the right as the game will allow. Now, slowly aim
downwards until you can see just a few pixels of a tree in the bottom of the
aimer. When you can. Stop aiming. Shoot, and hold up, and you'll crash into
the fence, and get shot into the sky, You can easily go over the boundary
here. Discovered by Metroidprime2714.
Heavens portal 3.
Version: V1.
Get to the cannon which is in the area, part of the way up the mountain, which
has a Goomba, an orange block, two trees, and a sign explaining how to grab
onto the edge of a cliff nearby. Jump in the cannon, and hold up and left
until it can't move anymore. Now shoot and hold up, and you'll be in the sky,
already past the boundary. Discovered by Icecube.
Heavens portal 4. *NEW*
Version: Any.
Go to the slope near the foot of the mountain which has a red coin on it. Get
to the top of this slope. Long Jump onto the very steep hill to the right,
then slide kick, aiming a little to the left. You'll slide down the hill a
little, then bounce up, still in the slide kick position, and hit the wall.
You'll now be launched into the sky, and after a few seconds will hit the
ground. Discovered by Swordless Link.
Wear a hat around your feet in BoB.
Version: V1.
Go to BoB as Yohsi. Make it so that a Goomba at the bridge at the start of the
level is wearing Marios hat. Chase him over to the red ? block, and stand on
him. Now, break the block, and stand where the Power Flower will land. Just
before it touches you, lick the hat. He won't transform, but will now have a
hat around his feet until you either get another hat, or leave the level.
Discovered by Swordless Link.
Keep Yoshi's tongue stuck out in BoB.
Version: V1.
As Yoshi, choose a star past star 2, so the little koopa is there. Run over to
him, and eat him, and spit him out again, and at the same time move towards
the opposite side of the nearby cannon. The reason you need to do it like this
is because if you keep him in your mouth for too long, he'll turn into an egg.
Once he's at the other side, chase him. He'll try to run up the cannon, but
won't move, s jump on him to get him out of his shell. He'll now be in his
shell, but out it at the same time, so move back a little, and lick him.
Yoshi'll try to lick him, but lick the shell, and will now be riding around
with his tongue stuck out. Crashing will cause the game to freeze.
Mini-Mega Yoshi in BoB.
Version: V1, V2, AUS.
Choose any star which will cause there to be Super Mushrooms present in the
level. Run over to the cannon used in "Heavens portal 2", and you'll see two
orange blocks nearby. One of the contains a Super Mushroom. Eat a Bob-Omb, and
spit him out at the blocks. He'll explode, leaving a coin, and the boxes will
break, leaving a Super Mushroom. Now, jump, and flutter into the mushroom, but
before you touch it, lick up the coin the Bob-Omb left behind. Yoshi will get
the Super Mushroom, but not grow, so you are now little, but will act like
you're big, so you can't double jump, and you can kick instead of lick, etc.
Discovered by peteyboo.
Slide through a wall.
Version: Any.
Go to the area under the floating island, and go near the corner created by
the grass hill and the wall in the side of the mountain, which has a fence on
top of it. Face away from the fence, and do a double jump up onto the grassy
hill, and as soon as you land, do a slide kick. Your character should slide
down the hill, and fall through the wall to his death. Discovered by
Sephiroth_2004.
Get the big characters in the cannon.
Version: Any.
Go to BoB and choose a star which'll have the Super Mushrooms present. Get the
one near the bridge which is near Chain Chomp, and run through the gate, and
under where the cannon is. Jump, and you might go through the floor above you
if you're lucky, and end up in the cannon, even although you're big. This
glitch is extremely hard and needs precise aiming of the jump. Discovered by
Icecube.
Walk around with your tongue out in BoB.
Version: V1.
Perform the "Keep Yoshi's tongue stuck out in BoB" glitch. Normally, when you
crash after doing that glitch, the game freezes. But if you travel, on the
shell, to the cannon balls which are rolling down the mountain, and get hit
by one, for some reason, the game won't freeze, and you can now run around
with your tongue out. Pressing A will cause him to put it back in his mouth.
Discovered by Swordess Link.
Hells Portal in BoB. *NEW*
Version: V1.
Get into the cannon in which you have to be in to perform "Heavens portal 3",
and aim all the way down and left, as if you were going to perform that
glitch. Instead, however, tap right a tiny little bit, then shoot and hold
up. You will now have done a Hells Portal, and will be endlessly falling in
the sky. Pressing A or B will cause you to die. Discovered by Swordless Link.
Create an invisible box. *NEW*
Version: V2, EUR, AUS.
As Yoshi, create an egg. Now jump onto any Goomba, and just before you land
on it, fire the egg. Yoshi will now be carrying an invisible item. Getting
hit by any enemy will cause you to drop the item, as will pressing A or
jumping on the Koopa Shell. This can lead to some strange things, such as
items from the level disappearing, like signs, bridges, etc. It can also
the icons on the top screen (health, coins, etc) to disappear, and for the
touch screen to be wiped of everything but the actual map. (no camera, hats,
etc) Once these things start to happen, the game will randomly freeze,
though things like producing eggs or getting hurt can cause the freeze to
occur sooner. This glitch can be done in any level with Goombas. Also, after
everything starts disappearing, if you pause and exit the level, and enter
another one, the game will freeze when it's loading the level. Discovered
by yodelerty, the information about the enter-level-freeze by cheatmaster30.
Power Flower freeze.
Version: V1.
As Yoshi break open a Power Flower Box. Stand next to it, and just as it's
about to disappear, jump up and lick it up. If you're timing was right,
you'll lick it up, but it will disappear before it gets to your mouth,
resulting in the game freezing. This can be done anywhere with a Power Flower
box, as long as Yoshi can access it of course. Discovered by Icecube.
Phantom Box. *NEW*
Version: Any.
On Star 4, run over to the gate at the foot of the mountain. There are two
orange blocks in front of it. Run into the corner where the right block meets
the gate, and you'll just run through it. Discovered by LinksDarkArrows.
=~=~=~=~=
==Whomp's Fortress==
An easy 100 lives.
Version: V1.
Go to WF as Mario or Luigi (or Yoshi with either of their hats on) and choose
a star past star 2, so you have access to the Super Mushrooms. From the start
of the level, jump onto the grey wall, and follow it until te end of it, then
jump down, past the stair with the Thwomps, and you'll see a red ? box, and
two orange blocks. Break the block, and one of them will contain a Super
Mushroom. Pick it up, and when you're big, go and stand in the nearby corner
where the fence and the wall meet. You'll teleport. When you re-appear, jump
over the fence, then jump and hold the jump button, and aim for the higher
ledge with the tower thing on it. He should grab onto it and pull himself up.
When you're up there, walk left to the large wooden plank. Touch one of the
thinner sides of it, and it will fall. Now, as long as you keep touching it of
standing on it, your lives will continue to go up EXTREMELY fast, but
unfortunately, the counter stops at 100. A very cool glitch. Discovered by
aznbob.
Swim in Whomp's Fortrees.
Version: Any.
Go to WP and choose the first star. Get up to the Whomp King, and start the
battle. Now, have him follow you over to an edge of the platform, and let him
atempt to crush you, but before he does, jump for where it looks like his
crown will land when he hits the floor. If you've done it perfectly (insanely
hard) you'll fall through the floor, and will land in water, inside the level.
Discovered by Nintendofan100 & Icecube.
Silent Super Mushrooms.
Version: ???
I got a Super Mushroom, and just as it was wearing off, I walked very slowly
(by tapping the button, not holding it) to the left. When I shrunk, there was
no music, but every other sound was normal. I had done it in BoB too, where I
got the same result. I tried it in TTM also, and instead of the music turning
off, it changed to that of RR.
NOTE: I have only gotten this to work once. After I turned my DS off after
doing the glitch, it never worked again.
Discovered by Swordless Link.
Mini-Mega Yoshi in WF.
Version: V1, V2, AUS.
As Yoshi, go to WF, and choose a star past star 2. Also, take either Mario or
Luigis hats. When you have, get to the Super Mushroom, which is in an orange
block on a grassy floor near a Pirahna Plant. Now, you have to do this next
part pretty quickly. Break the block to release the Super Mushroom, and then
get hit by the plant to loose the hat. Then run away from it so it goes back
to sleep, then flutter jump over to it, and pound it, killing it. It'll leave
a blue coin behind. If you were quick enough, the Super Mushroom and the coin
will both be there, so you have to fluttre jump into the Super Mushroom, but
lick the coin before you touch it. This'll cause Yoshi to act big, but still
be small. Discovered by Swordless Link.
Through a fence in WF.
Version: Any.
Go to WF as Mario or Luigi, or someone with their hats. Get to the area with
the Super Mushroom needed for the 100 lives glitch, then jump to the grassy
area below. If you are Luigi, simply face away from the fence, and backflip.
He'll pull himself up through the fence. If you're Mario, face the fence, and
do a triple jump, and he'll do the same thing. Discovered by Riyuu.
Backwards slide kick In Whomp's fortress. *NEW*
Version: Any.
Walk up to the first pillar that comes out of the wall. Do a crouch kick, as
youre sliding down the slope, you can do a slide kick while going backwards.
Discovered by Sheadog369.
Fall through a box in WF. *NEW*
Version: Any.
Go into Whomp's Fortress and go into any star. Get to the box which, when
broken, reveals the switch for the switch star. Jump on it, and go into one
of the corners. Go into first person mode, and turn the camera behind the box.
Go out of First Person Mode, and you should fall through the box. Discovered
by GenericMan121.
Shrink without fully growing. *NEW*
Version: Any.
As Yoshi on a star past star 2, get to the two orange blocks near the ? Box.
Break open the ? Box and a Bob-omb will come out. Lick it up and spit it out
at the orange block to release the Super Mushroom. Now, stand under the
nearby Thwomp. Eat the 'shroom before the thwomp starts falling and you will
start growing when he starts to fall. You will start growing, destroy the
thwomp, and shrink without fully growing. Discovered by yodelerty.
WF Hells Portal. *NEW*
Version: Any.
As Yoshi on a star past star 2, get to the two orange blocks near the ? Box.
Break open the ? Box and a Bob-omb will come out. Lick it up and spit it out
at the orange block to release the Super Mushroom. Now, stand under the
nearby Thwomp. Eat the 'shroom so that the thwomp will crush before you grow.
When the thwomp gets off you, you will grow, fall through the ground, and
die. Discovered by yodelerty.
Temporary Mini-Mega Yoshi. *NEW*
Version: V1, V2, AUS.
As Yoshi on a star past star 2, get to the two orange blocks near the ? Box.
Break open the ? Box and a Bob-omb will come out. Lick it up and spit it out
at the orange block to release the Super Mushroom. Now, stand under the
nearby Thwomp. This requires precise timing. Eat the 'shroom so that you
start growing as it crushes you. You will then get hurt while you are giant
and the mini-mega yoshi glitch will happen temporarily. Discovered by
yodelerty.
NOTE: If you don't jump out from underneath the thwomp in time, you will
fall through and die.
Keep Yoshi's tongue stuck out in WF for a few seconds. *NEW*
Version: V1.
Just before the Thwomp crushes
you, lick up the mushroom. If you're timing was correct (which is actually
pretty hard to do) you'll lick up the Mushroom but get crushed before he
brings it to his mouth. This will result in his tongue being stufck out,
until he recovers from the crush, at which point he'll turn big. Discovered
by yodelerty.
Get the Healing Heart without revealing it. *NEW*
Version: Any.
Go to the orange block near the flagpole which has a healing heart in it,
but don't break the block. From the left of it (while facing the tower), jump
and grab onto the side of it. You'll get healed by the heart even although
it's still in the box. Discovered by Swordless Link.
Permanently stuck under the Whomp King. *NEW*
Version: Any.
Sometimes, when you're going to jump on his head before the battle in order
to get the coins from him, if you hit it at the right angle, you'll fall right
through him, and will land on he ground under him in the "flattened" position.
You're now stuck, as he won't move from on top of you, so you're stuck in that
position, and the battle hasn't started, so all you can do is exit the level
or turn off. Discovered by LinksDarkArrows.
Rise through the Whomp King. *NEW*
Version: Any.
As any character, go to Star 1 of Whomp's Fortress. Go to the place with
Whomp King and talk to him to start the battle. Lure him over to the edge of
the platform where the platforms are moving up and down. Jump down and go
onto a platform going up. Whomp King will fall over. When the platform gets
high enough for you to touch him, you'll get hurt and as it goes higher,
you'll go through him and end up standing on his back. Discovered by
rom_maniac.
Frozen in Mid-air in Whomp's Fortress.
Version: Any.
As any character, go to Star 1 of Whomp's Fortress. Go to the place with
Whomp King, but don't talk to him. Triple jump so that you will just land on
his head but fall off before you can grab on. Before you land on the ground,
Whomp King should talk to you. You will be frozen in mid-air as if you are
on the ground until he stops talking. Discovered by rom_maniac.

==Jolly Roger Bay==
Walk on water in JRB.
Version: Any.
Go to JRB as someone who isn't Luigi. Find Luigi's hat, and go to the start of
the level, where there are two Goombas. Lure one over to the waters edge, and
have him hit you, so you loose the hat. When you loose the hat, IMMEDIATEYL
punch the Goomba, and IMMEDIATLY run onto the water after punching him. You
can now run on the water for as long as you want, but stopping on the water,
jumping, and crouching will cause you to start swimming again. Discovered by
pokeboy1000.
Walk underwater in JRB.
Version: Any.
Go to JRB as anyone, but choose star 1. Go into the cave at the bottom of the
bay, and get the Wario hat (if you aren't Wario that is), then get the power
flower from the nearby ? box. You'll be metal, so quickly run into the water,
and down to the ship. Run up the ship as far as you can go, and walk over the
top if it. Your character will fall onto the steep hill behind the ship, and
will slide down to the sea floor. Your power flower will run out about now,
and when you are back to normal, you can still walk underwater for as long as
you want, and you won't drown. Discovered by Mackdaddytoad.
Keeping Yoshi's tongue out in JRB.
Version: EUR.
Go to JRB as Yoshi, and don't take anyones hats. Swim intothe cave at the
bottom of the bay, and run over to the Goomba wearing Warios hat. He'll be
under a pillar, which when you walk under, will fall on you. Walk under it,
and just before it touches you, try to lick the hat from the Goomba. Yoshi
will try to do it, but will be interupted by the pillar hitting him, and will
have his tongue stuck out. Pressing A will cause him to put it back in his
mouth.
NOTE: I can't imagine why this won't work in the other versions, but I've only
been able to get it to work in my EUR copy, and neither of my others...
Discovered by Swordless Link.
JRB Glitcharoo. *NEW*
Version: Any.
Go onto the boat, and jump up to the place with the two red coins from
directly below it. If it works, you will fall through the boat and can swim
around inside it. Discovered by GenericMan121.
Freeze the game in JRB using a Goomba. *NEW*
Version: V1.
As Yoshi, go to JRB, but don't take any hats. There will be two Goombas
nearby. Lure one of them near the waters edge, but make sure he doesn't touch
the water. Backwards flutter jump into the water, but try to lick up the
Goomba on your descent, but make sure you time it so that you hit the water
before Yoshi brings the Goomba into his mouth. The game will now freeze.
Discovered by Swordless Link.
Wall's Revenge. *NEW*
Version: Any.
First, perform the "Walk underwater in JRB" glitch, then you jump and
forward dive into the rock to the left of the front of the boat. Sometimes
you'll get the glitch. sometimes you won't. If you do, you'll be in the wall
and will be slowly sliding up it. When you reach a different part of the
wall, or a rock, etc, you'll come out of te diving position and fall back to
the ground. Discovered by LinksDarkArrows.
Get permanently stuck in a rock. *NEW*
Version: Any.
Now at the start of JRB, when you've just entered it, in front of you there
is a sign. To the left of this, and forward a bit is another sign. Go to that
other sign, and next to it is a rock in the wall. Now, at the left of the
rock where it meets the wall, run against the corner, and while running turn
a bit to the left so you're mostly facing the wall, but still facing the
rock a little bit too. Keep running into it, and dive. One of three things
will happen. Either you'll slide up the wall, and when you hit the top of
the rock, come back out, or you'll slide down to the bottom of the rock very
slowly, and when you hit the ground you'll come back out, or you'll get
stuck somewhere around the middle section of the rock, and you'll now have
to turn off the DS to get out of this, as pausing the game doesn't bring up
the start menu, because you're above the ground. Discovered by Swordless Link.

==Cool, Cool Mountain==
Keep the Penguin in Yoshi's mouth permanently.
Version: Any.
Take the penguin from the start of the level over to the edge of the mountain.
You can do this by jumping and licking him up, then spitting him out when you
land, and you do that until he's at the edge. When he is, run at him, and lick
him as you pass by him. Yoshi will fall off the ledge with him in his mouth,
and he'll now stay in his mouth. Pressing A will cause Yoshi to spit out
nothing, and re-entering the area where you found him will cause him to appear
out of nowhere and give his speech. This also works with the penguin at the
bottom of the level, but to do it with him, you have to chase him over to the
cannon, and run at him, lick him, fall in the cannon, and shoot yourself out
of the area. Discovered by MattyXB.
Zooming out camera in CCM.
Version: Any.
Get to the bottom of the level, where the little lift thing is. Jump on it,
and ride it to the top, then get off it ,and back on, so it'll go back down
to the bottom. While it's descending, go into first person mode by pressing X
twice. Now don't press anything else, and the camera will zoom way out behind
your character on it's own, and you can rotate it to see under the level, and
behind things, and other cool things like that. Unfortunately, if you stay on
the lift for too long, it will start to up again, at which point the camera
will return to normal. Discovered by yodelerty.
Infinite coins in CCM.
Version: Any.
Make sure you at least have one character other than Yoshi. Go to CCM as
Yoshi, and get to the bottom of the level. There will be a Goomba (or Goombas,
depending on how many characters you've unlocked) wearing a hat. Kill him to
get his coin, but don't take the hat. Now, go to the top of the level, and go
into the house via the chimney. Slide down the slide, and exit the house at
the botom of the level. You'll notice that the hat wearing Goombas have
respawned, and you can kill them again t get ther coins again! You can do
this as many times as you like, but the counter stops at 255 due to memory
restrictions. Discovered by The Real Qwade.
Keep Yoshi's tongue out in CCM.
Version: V1.
As Yoshi, bring the Penguin from the start of the level over to the nearby
flame. Let him run into the wall, so he stops moving away from you. Now,
backwards flutter jump into the flame, but lick him before you touch it. Your
tongue will now be stuck out until you press A. Discovered by Swordless Link.
Floating Penguin.
Version: Any.
Simply eat the penguin at the start of the level, and spit him down the
chimney. He'll now be standing on thin air. Dicovered by MattyXB.
Go through a wall.
Version: Any.
Go into the house at the start of the level as Luigi. Go right next to where
the icy slide starts, but don't go on it. Backflip, and fly around to the side
of the house. Fly into the wall, and you'll go right through it. Discovered by
Eclipsed Echo.
Fall through the house at the bottom of the level.
Version: Any.
Go to the house at the bottom of the level (near Momma Penguin) and run into
the corner where it meets the wall, at the left of the house. While running
into it, slide kick, holding up and right, and you'll fall through the corner
to your death.
Trapped 100 Coin Star in Cool Cool Mountain.
Version: Any.
In Cool Cool Mountain, with Yoshi, get 98 coins, but don't get the red coin
that's trapped in an ice block that's under another ice block. Once you have
98 coins, go to the place with that red coin. Use the nearby fire to melt the
bottom ice block, but leave the top one frozen. Get the coin by walking into
it (don't use your tongue) and the 100 Coin Star will appear above your head.
Most of the star should be free, but even though only a small amount of it is
in the top ice block, you can't get it, not by touching it or licking it. If
you melt the top ice block, the animation that plays when you get a star will
play again. You can now get the star. Discovered by rom_maniac.

==Big Boo's Haunt==
Camera Zooming in BBH.
Version: Any.
Go into the little shed to the left of where yo ustart when you enter the
level. Jump on the lift, and press X twice to go into first person mode. As
the lift descends, the camera will zoom out, far beyond the levels boundaries.
It'll stay like this until you press X again.
Walk through the lift.
Version: Any.
Go into the shed to your left at the start of the level, and jump on the lift.

character will get crushed, but not loose any health, then they'll get up and
you'll be able to walk around inside the lift.

==Hazy Maze Cave==
Camera Zooming in HMC.
Version: Any.
Go to any of the lifts in this level, and ride them to the top. (or if they're
already at the top, just get on them) Get on the when they're at the top, and
as they descend, press X twice to go into first person mode. The camera will
zoom out way beyond the levels boundaries, and rotating it will allow you to
see most, if not all of the level.
Get a hat on your feet in HMC.
Version: V1.
Choose the first star so that the monster in the cavern area has a Wario hat
on. Go down to it, and climb on it's back. Now here's the hard part: you have
to jump t the SIDE of the hat, so you're barely touching it. If you touch the
correct part, you'll get the hat, and fall into the water without landing on
the monsters head. If you do exactly that, you'll have Wario's hat around your
feet until you get another hat or exit the level. Discovered by Swordless
Link.
Keep Yoshi's tongue out in HMC.
Version: V1.
As Yoshi, go to the hole which when dropped through, takes you into the Toxic
Maze. Don't fall into it though. You'll see two flames on the wall. You have
to backward flutter jump into one, but try to eat the other one at the same
time. If you do it right, Yoshi's tongue will be stuck out until you press A,
which will cause him to breath fire once. Discovered by Swordless Link.
Fall through a box in HMC. *NEW*
Version: Any.
Go to hazy maze cave and go to the poison cave. You should be able to navigate
your way to a lone box in the poison (it's against a wall). Jump on it, then
perform the method to fall through it. Discovered by GenericMan121.

==Lethal Lava Land==
Fly out of bounds in LLL.
Version: Any.
As Mario, or someone with his hat, get the wings, and fly up into an invisibe
wall which stops you from going out of bounds. Hold up for about half a second
so he gets a trail of smoke behind him, and let go of it, but keep tapping up
when necessary to stop him from going "Yahoo!". If you do it correctly, he
will go up the wall pretty fast. If he does go "Yahoo!" don't panic. Just
continue to do it more, until you get to the top. When you do get to the top,
just keep doing the same thing until he flies over the top of the level. From
there, you can fly under the level.
Keep Yoshi's tongue out in LLL using a Power Flower.
Version: V1.
Get to the 8 red coin puzzle as Yoshi. Open the red ? box, and backwards
flutter jump into the lava, but before you hit it, lick up the power flower.
Yoshi will hit the lava while licking it, and will bounce up with his tongue
stuck out. Land on the nearby platforms, and the power flower music will
start. His tongue will be stuck out until you press A. Discovered by Swordless
Link.
Freeze the game with Yoshi's tongue in LLL.
Version: V1.
Perform the "Keep Yoshi's tongue out in LLL using a Power Flower" glitch. but
when you bounce up from the lava, land in the power flower. The game will
freeze, as it's trying to give you two power flowers at the exact same time.
Discovered by Swordless Link.
Breath fire and stick your tongue out at the same time.
Version: V1.
Perform the "Keep Yoshi's tongue out in LLL using a Power Flower" glitch, and
when you land on the land, after the power flower music has started, press A.
Yoshi will stick his tongue out and breath fire at the same time, and he will
do this every time you press A while the power flower music is still playing.

Keep Yoshi's tongue out using the Koopa Shell.
Version: V1.
Choose any star which will cause the koopa shell to be in the level. Go and
break the box it's in, and when it comes out, backwards flutter jump into the
lava, but lick the shell up before you hit the lava. If you did it correctly,
his tongue will be stuck out, but make sure that when you bounce up from the
lava that you kand on the shell. Otherwise he game will freeze. It'll also
freeze when you crash the shell. Discovered by Swordless Link.
Ride around dead on a shell.
Version: Any.
This glitch requires a little bit of luck, but it's not that hard. Get your
health down to three, two or one pieces left, then perform the "Keep Yoshi's
tongue out using the Koopa Shell" glitch, but if you're lucky, the shell will
be sitting on te edge of the platform once you attempt to lick it up. If it
is, then when you hit the lava, you'll loose your remaining health, but hit
the shell immediately afterwards. You can now ride around on the shell while
dead, and crashing will cause you to die. You can, however, collect coins
while on the shell, to bring yourself back to life. Discovered by Swordless
Link.

Version: Any.
Go to LLL, or any level that when you hold L, the arrows will stay on the
screen. Now hold L and while still holding it go into first-person view.
You will notice that even when you let go of L, the arrows will stay on the
screen without making a sound. When you go back to normal, so will the
screen. Discovered by yodelerty.

==Shifting Sand Land==
Keep a hat on your feet in SSL.
Version: V1.
As Yoshi, go to SSL, and go over to where the Goomba with the Wario hat is
located. Stand on him, and then jump up at the nearby red ? box. Stand where
the power flower will land, but before it touches you, lick up the Wario hat.
You won't transform, but it'll be stuck around your feet until you get another
hat or exit the level. Discovered by peteyboo.
Get stuck in a Tox Box.
Version: Any.
As Wario, or someone with his hat on, go to the maze which has the Tox Boxes
in it. Go to the one which is the third furthest away from your startig area.
When it gets to the edge nearest to the levels boundary, punch it. It'll land
in the sand outside of the maze. Now simply jump in it, and you will be unable
to get out of it, as you'll be sliding permanently. You'll have to pause the
game and exit the level, or turn off your DS. Discovered by Icecube.
Fly out of bounds in SSL.
Version: Any.
As Mario, or someone with his hat on, get the wings near the cannon. Then jump
into the cannon, and hold down and left until the aimer won't move anymore.
Shoot, and move into the corner of the level while flying. Now, hold up for
about one second, then let go of it. Mario will sort of stutter against the
wall for a very short time, then he'll shoot through it. From there, you can
get into a Black Room of Death, by flying into the back of the entrance to the
pyramid. Discovered by Nicholas471.
Klepto Freeze glitch.
Version: V1.
Go to SSL as anyone, and get the hat of any other character. Pick up a
non-bouncing cork box, and run over to Klepto, the evil fliyng condor. Stand
still and let him crash into you. The game will freeze, and will also produce
a loud screech-like noise. Discovered by AnimeRPGFan.
SSL Heavens Portal and Hells Portal.
Version: Any.
As anyone other than Yoshi go to any of the four pillars in the level. Run up
t, and when you're near the otp, dive into it. If all went well, you'll go
through it, and your screen will be all blue, and in a few seconds, you'll
appear really, really high up. That was the heavens portal. The hells portal
comes next if you went flying out of bounds after doing the glitch, which
happens with the two pillars near the pond. You'll Appear in the diving
posiiton, and it'll seem that you're not falling or moving at all. At the
bottom of the screen, when the camera is zoomed out, you can see a tiny
little bit of the level. Pressing A or B will cause you to die. Discovered by
Firegalaxy and Icecube.

Walk on water in DDD.
Version: Any.
Go to DDD as someone who isn't Luigi. Bowsers sub MUST still be there for the
glitch to be done, as it involves the Bullet Bills. When you're in the level,
swim through to the area with the sub, and get a Luigi hat. When you have it,
swim over to the land with the thing that shoots Bullet Bills at you. Swim
onto the land, and allow one of them to hit you. You'll loose the cap, and as
you're transforming, run onto the water. You'll be running on top of the
water, as someone who isn't Luigi, for as long as you want. Completely
stopping, jumping, or crouching will cause everything to return to normal.
Discovered by shortdude.
Walk underwater in DDD.
Version: Any, though it's MUCH easier in V1.
V1 strategy: While Bowsers sub is still in the level, swim under one of the
little fins at the back end of it. When you're under one of them, jump, and
ground pound. Youll fall underwater, and will be able to walk around normally
there. Discovered by Raijin52 and MarioSuperFan.
V2/EUR strategy: This is very similar to the V1 strategy, but V2/EUR owners
will know that the V1 one doesn't work in their game. The glitch can still be
done though. To do it, you have to angle yourself so that you aren't exactly
under the fin, but you're at the side of it, sort of halfway under it. Turn
around to face it, and jump. If your angle is correct, you'll get pushed under
it, and then all oyu have to do it ground pound. V2/EUR method discovered by
Swordless Link.

==Snowman's Land==
Multiply hats and freeze the game.
Version: All for multiplying the hats, V1 and EUR for the freeze.
As someone who isn't Yoshi, get up to the otp of the mountain on any star, and
have the snowman blow your hat off. Go down and kill the snowman who is now
wearing your hat. If you're Wario (recommended for this glitch) all you have
to do is punch the snowman. If you're Mario or Luigi, running around him won't
cause the glitch to work, so you have to find a nearby cork box, and throw
that at him to kill him. Once you have your hat back on, go back up the
mountain, and have him blow it off again. This time, when you get back down to
the snowman, you'll find that there are two hats! Pick them both up, and go
back up to the top again, and repeat the procedure. This time you'll have four
hats. Again, you have to pick them all up. Every time you do this procedure,
the number of hats doubles. Eventually, when you get to about thirty-two hats,
they game will slow down and freeze if you try to hit the snowman, that is if
you have V1 or EUR. If you have V2, it won't freeze, but this allows you to
get more and more hats. Discovered by defender08.
Freeze everything but yourself.
Version: EUR.
Choose the "Snowmans Silver Stars" star, and collect all of the silver stars
to make the Power Star appear. Don't collect it though. Instead, enter the
igloo, and then exit again. You'll notice that all of the stars have
reappeared in the level, even although you already have all five. So now, you
have to collect a sixth one, and when you do, the little tune which plays when
you loose a silver star will play, and the whole level will freeze, except for
your character. You will now have a frozen silver star permanently above your
head, and you can't enter the igloo or cannon, and all of the enemies and a
lot of the objects can now be walked through. Also, the levels music still
continues, but it's quieter than it usually is. Discovered by iamthemaxhailme.
Freeze everything, including yourself.
Version: EUR.
Perform the "Freeze everything but yourself" glitch, but when you go to

Disappearing Silver Star.
Version: Any.

around the level, enter, then exit the igloo. When you come back out, you'll
notice that the star you lost when hit is completely gone. You can do this
with any amount of Silver Stars at any one time, but it makes the star
impossible to complete. Discovered by rom_maniac.
Keep Yoshi's tongue stuck out inside the igloo.
Version: V1.
As Yoshi, go inside the igloo, and break open the red ? box. Backwards flutter
jump into the water, but before you hit it, lick up the poewr flower, Your
tongue will now be stuck out until you press A, which will cause him to breath

you took. Discovered by Swordless Link.
Take the Big Bully anywhere.
Version: Any.
As Wario, or someone with his hat on, get the power flower to become metal. Go

ice, and you can now push him around most of the level. Discovered by

have to jump and dive at where the bottom of the ledge meets the wall. If you

quite a while. Although this can be done as both Mario and Luigi, it seems a
little easier as Luigi. Discovered by LinksDarkArrows.

Version: V1.
Put the water level to it's highest, and go over to the Goomba wearing a Wario
hat. Chase him over to the edge of the platform, and jump on him, to leave the

the town. When you're there, drain the water, and get the poewr flower. Float
into the pipe which is now dry. (it can sometimes be a challenge to get him
into it, but it's not really that hard) When you're in it, walk through it
until you get to the end, at which time you have to wall jump up to the first
part of the level. Once you're there, you'll be swimming. Now turn around, and

Keep Ukiki the monkey in your mouth permanently.
Version: V1. V2 and EUR through another method.
V1 strategy: Get up to Ukiki as Yoshi, and backwards flutter jump into the
water, but lick him before you hit the water. You'll now be swimming with your
mouth full, and if you swim down the waterfall, and get onto land, you can
walk around with him in your mouth permanently. Going into the area in which
you found him will cause him to give his speech and appear out of nowhere.
Also spitting him out after swimming down the waterfall in V1 will cause Yoshi
to spit out nothing. Discovered by laser kirby 007.
V2/EUR method: Jump into the water with Ukiki in your mouth, as you would in
V1. Swim down the waterfall. Normally, in V2/EUR, when you touch land,
regardless of where it is, you'll spit him out. But I found a way to prevent
this. Swim right into the area where you started, and opposite the land there
is a very steep grey slope. Slowly swim into it, and when he touches it, he'll
try ti spit Ukiki out, but'll fall into the water before he has a chance. Now,
when you go on land, you can run around with him in your mouth. It's quite
different from V1 though, as if you go into the area in which you found him,
he won't spit him out automatically, and pressing A anywhere will cause him to
spit out the monkey, instead of nothing. V2/EUR method discovered by Swordless
Link.

you're big. Discovered by peteyboo.
Keep Yoshi's tongue out via the Super Mushoom.
Version: V1.

out when you shrink again. When you are small, pressing A wil cause it to go
back in his mouth. Discovered by peteyboo.

Go to TTM as someone who isn't Yoshi. Preferably Wario, but it can be done as
the Mario brothers too. Get the power flower/wings and drop down to Ukiki, and
pick him up, and get to the Super Mushroom. Put him down so he's right next to
the stake. Now, wait for the power flower/wings to wear off, then pound the
stake, and move away from the mushroom. Ukiki should almost be touching the
mushroom, so attempt to grab him. You'll grab him, but touch the mushroom at
the same time, and he'll take your hat, but you'll now be small but act like
you're big as anyone! Discovered by Swordless Link.
Get a hat on your feet in TTM.
Version: V1.
Go to TTM as someone who isn't Yoshi. Get the hat of another character, and
get to Ukiki. Pick him up so he takes the hat. Now, slowly and carefully,
chase him over to the water edge. He should keep running against the edge, and
as long as you don't make any sudden movements (sprinting, jumping), he'll
stay there. Stand behind him, and wait for the fly guy to shoot fire at you.
You have to pick Ukiki up as the flame touches you, not before, not after.
When you're on fire, quickly run into the water. When you get there, Ukiki
will give his speech, and you'll get your hat back while you're in the water,
so it will be on your feet. If you get the super mushroom while it's on your
feet, then you will grow, but the hat on your feet will stay the same size.

movements, so he won't jump away. Now, wat for the fly guy to shot fire at
you, and AS it touches you, pick Ukiki up. If your timing was correct, you'll
try to get your hat back, but your ass will catch fire before you get a
chance. Now simply swim/jump down to the owl, and fly back up to Ukiki. The
hat of yours he once wore is gone, and it isn't on your head either. Because
of this, you can pick him up, and travel around with him as anyone. Discovered

Now press A and Yoshi will stick his tongue out, but his body will be reduced
to only his head, his feet, and his tail. Discovered by peteyboo.
White screen.
Version: Any.
Get a Super Mushroom, and jump down to the teleporting mushroom. Stand on it,
and while teleporting, rapidly press B. When you re-appear, the whole top
screen will be white. Discovered by Icecube.
Invisible character.
Version: Any.
Perform the "White Screen" glitch, and simply pause, then un-pause the game.
You'll now be invisible, though everything else will be completely normal.
Discovered by Icecube.
Fly out of bounds in TTM.
Version: Any.
Fly out towards te invisible boundary wall, and old up until you have a white
smoke trail behind you. Let go of up then, but tap it regularly so as not to
let him go "Wahoo". Keep doing this for a short time, and you'll be at the top
of the level. Do it again, and you'll fly over the top, and you will be out of
bounds.
Merge yourself with a monkey.
Version: V1 (definatly). V2, EUR (possibly)
Choose the second star as Yoshi, and get to the top of the mountain. Eat the
monkey, but don't spit him out. Jump down to Ukiki's area, and jump over to
the little island opposite Ukiki. Spit out the monley form the top of the
level just at the waters edge. Now, backwards fluter jump into the water, but
lick him up before oyu touch it. Your tongue will now be stuck out, but more
importantly, you will be merged with the monkey, who is frozen in place! You
can run around with him merged with you, and pressing A will cause Yoshi to
do the spitting out animaiton, and he'll act like he was in Yoshi's mouth.
Discovered by Swordless Link.
Death Star. *NEW*
Version: Any.
Collect 100 coins, but make sure your last one is in the sky, so that the
star appears in an area that if you grabbed it, you'd fall to your death.
Grab the star, and you'll fall to your death while he's doing the "just got
a star" animation. You will be thrown out of the painting as if you didn't
get the star, but if you look at your status in the pause menu or file
screen, it will show your old record with the star next to it. So it's almost
like you got the star but didn't get the star at the same time. Discovered
by numberonesbfan.
WTF did he go? *NEW*
Version: Any.
Grab the bouncing box, and bounce down into the area with the circle of
coins. If you land perfectly in the corner, you'll fall through the level to
your death. Discovered by LinksDarkArrows.
TTM Hat Factory. *NEW*
Version: V2, EUR, AUS.
Perforn the "Take Ukiki anywhere as any character. An easier method." glitch,
up until the point where you're in the water, after diving at Ukiki who
should be wearing your hat. When you're in the water, face the waterfall
which is farthest away from the starting area, and jump, very carefully,
onto the land. You want it so that you're just barely touching the land. When
you're there, Ukiki will give his speech, and while he is, hold in Y so that
when he's done, you'll be ready to start running. When the s[eech is done,
quickly, before your character puts on the hat, move into the water. (this is
why you have to be RIGHT at the edge) You'll land in the water without putting
the hat on, and the hat will stay in the water. Now swim down the waterfall,
and get back up to Ukiki, using the owl. Pick him up then put him down again,
then jump in the water and pick up the hat, then [ick up Ukiki again, and when
he takes your hat, another one will appear nearby. Do this over and over
again to get lots of hats. Discovred by yodelerty.
Freeze the game by grabbing Ukiki. *NEW*
Version: Any.
As Yoshi with anyones hat on, get to Ukiki. Pick him pu so he takes your hat.
Now that you're Yoshi again, lick him up to get the hat back. While you're
transforming, dive at Ukiki. If you catch him while you're Yoshi, and not
the person you're transforming into, the game will freeze, because it's trying
to get Ukiki to take a hat from Yoshi, but he doesn't have one. Discovered
by yodelerty.
Possessed Egg in Tall Tall Mountain. *NEW*
Version: Any.
In Tall Tall Mountain, with Yoshi, go to the grassy area with the Goombas
where you can't jump high. Kill all of them except for one and turn the last
one into an egg. Jump onto the ledge with the fence to the left of the grassy
area and face towards the grassy area. Jump and shoot an egg and Yoshi will
turn towards the fence and shoot an egg far into the distance. Discovered by
rom_maniac.

==Tiny-Huge Island==
Infinite coins in THI.
Version: Any.
Go over to the Lakitu on Huge Island, on the beach area. He will throw spiney
enemies at you. As Yoshi, lick them up, and turn them into eggs. Now run away
from Lakitu (so the egg doesn't kill him), and fire the egg at a wall. You'll
get one coin. Go back to him, and he'll throw another spiney enemy at you. Do
the same thing over and over again, until you reach the maximum of 255 coins.
Keep Yoshi's tongue stuck out using the Koopa.
Version: V1.
Get to the Koopa on the beach in Huge Island. Chase him into the steep wall
which is to the right, if you're facing the land. Once he's there, he'll try
to run up it, but won't move. Jump on him, go back a bit, and lick him. You'll
try to lick the Koopa, but lik the shell first, so you'll be riding around on
a shell with your tongue stuck out. Crashing will cause the game to freeze, or
will cause him to put his tongue back in his mouth and produce an egg.
Discovered by nintendofan100.
Walk around with Yoshi's tongue stuck out in THI.
Version: V1.
Perform the "Keep Yoshi's tongue stuck out using the Koopa" glitch. Normally,
when you crash, the game'll freeze or you'll prodce an egg, but if you travel
up to the large Cannon Balls rolling down the mountain, and let one of them
hit you, you can walk around with your tongue stuck out. Discovered by
Swordless Link.
Wear a hat on your feet in THI.
Version: V1.
Go into the painting on the left so you're in Tiny Island. Take the nearby
Mario hat, then jump up to te next platform with the Pirahna Plant. Face the
wall behind him, and run into him, to loose the hat. It'll bounce off the
wall, then head for the edge of the ledge you're on. So you have to follow it,
but jump on it just as it tips over the edge. If you do it correctly, you'll
be swimming with a hat around your feet, and it'll stay like that until you
either get another hat, or exit the level.
Keep Yoshi's tongue stuck out using Lakitu, or freeze the game in the process.
Version: V1.
Go into Huge Island, and get to Lakitu. Stand near the waters edge, and let
him throw a spiney enemy at you. Backwards flutterjump into the water, but on
your descent, lick up the spiney enemy. Now, one of three things will happen.
1. You'll take damage, and once he has, he'll produce an egg.
2. You'll take damage but your tongue will be stuck out. It'll stay like this
until you press A.
3. You'll take damage, and the game will freeze.
The freeze only happens if the spiney enemy is deep enough in the water while
you take damage, as it will disappear while he's taking damage, and when Yoshi
tries to swallow him, he can't, as the enemy has disappeared. This causes the
game to freeze. Discovered by Swordless Link.
Get stuck inside the cannon.
Version: Any.
If the fly guy goes into the cannon before you do, and when you go in you
don't kill him, you'll be stuck inside the cannon, and will have to exit the
level to get out. Discovered by Shurekien.
Koopa Freeze. *NEW*
Version: Any.
As Yoshi, jump on the Koopa to get him out of his shell. Now stand back, and
let him dive for his shell. Just as he touches it, lick him/the shell up. The
game will freeze. Discovered by yodelerty.

==Tick Tock Clock==
Fall through a corner.
Version: Any.
Get up to the very top of the level, where the star near the thwomp is. Go to
the floor below the star (this is where te Thwomp is when he's on the ground)
and run into the left corner of that area. It's a "soft" corner, meaning that
you can just keep running into it. So do so, then slide kick into it, and aim
towards the lef as you slide kick. You'll fall through the wall to your death.
Discovered by pictoshat.
Fall through anoother corner. *NEW*
Version: Any.
Get up to the star near the Thwomp, but this time, instead of staying on the
platform where the thwomp is when he's on the ground, jump up to where the
star is, and run and slide kick into the left corner. You'll fall through to
your death. Discovered by godamit.
Through a fence in TTC. *NEW*
Version: Any.
At the start when you enter the level, go around the pit and face the wall
that is made up of small squares, now you just do a triple jump. Most of the
time, though, you will end up jumping through the fence instead of climbing
through it so you will have to be careful with how you jump. Discovered by
godamit.

==Rainbow Ride==
Infinite coins in RR.
Version: Any.
Get to either of the two Lakitus in the level as Yoshi. Wait for him to throw
a spiney enemy at you, then lick it up, turn it into an egg, and fire it at a
wall to get a coin. Do this again, and you'll notice that you still get a
coin. You can do this as many times as you like, but the counter stops at 255
due to memory restrictions.
RR Camera Zoom. *NEW*
Version: Any.
On the final carpet (the one that brings you to the top of the house) when it
is at the top go into first-person view. When it falls, the camera will zoom
out far enough that you can see the whole level. Discovered by yodelerty.
RR Mini-Camera Zoom. *NEW*
Version: Any.
Go to where the bob-omb buddy is and go past it, there is an elevator there.
As soon as you get on the elevator go into first-person view. The camera
will then zoom out, but only far enough that the platform will disappear.
Discovered by yodelerty.
Yet another RR Camera Zoom. *NEW*
Version: Any.
Go onto one of the platforms that when you step on them they fall. When you
step on one go into first-person view, the camera will start zooming out
until you hit the ground. Discovered by yodelerty.

==Bowser and side levels==
Hat Pants in the Metal Cave. *NEW*
Version: V1.
Go to the Metal Cave (in HMC) as Yoshi. Get to the very back of it where there
is a Power Flower box and a Mario hat. Face the Mario hat and stand under the
Power Flower box. Jump, and just before the Power Flower touches you, lick up
the Mario hat. It will now be stuck around your feet until you exit the level
or get another hat. Discovered by MegaKnuckles777.
Piercing Bowser.
Version: V1.
Get up to Bowser in "Bowser in the Sky". When you do, grab him, and throw him
off the platform, making sure he doesn't hit a bomb. When he jumps back onto
land, grab him immediately. You'll grab him, but immediately afterwards, get
hit by the shockwaves he produces when he lands. You can now walk around with
Bowser merged to you. His tail will go through your stomach, and you will be
unable to remove him, unless you die or exit the level. Discovered by
lordhuffnpuff.
Disappearing Red Coins.
Version: ?
I don't even think this glitch exists. Apparently, it's possible for the game
to remove the red coins from inside the Boos in the fountain area. No one
seems to know what triggers this, but a common theory is that if you wait too
long to get this star, then it'll be removed. Another theory is that it's said
that the coins only appear at certain times, like a DS Clock/Game sync thing.
I have NEVER EVER NOT EVER NEVER experienced such a glitch, which is why I
don't think it even exists.

==Inside the Castle==
Slide Kick to your death in the JRB room.
Version: Any.
Go to the JRB room as any character. While facing the painting, turn to your
left. Look around on the wall for a little dark inlet. Jump into it, and run
into the left corner of it. While you are running in it, slide kick, and aim
towards he left. You'll fall through it, and appear outside the castle.
Discovered by pictoshat.
Fall to your death in the JRB room. *NEW*
Version: Any.
As Mario, line yourself up with the right eye of the flower on the wall to
the right of the JRB painting. (use the diagonal squares on the ground as a
guideline, as you have to be diagonally facing it) Stand at the other side
of the room, and triple jump and dive towards where the wall meets the ceiling.
If you did it correctly, you will be standing at the top of the room. Now,
just run towards where the ceiling meets the wall and you should fall through
to your death. Discovered by pictoshat.
Get inside the Fish Tanks in the JRB room. *NEW*
Version: Any.
Perform the "Fall to your death in the JRB room" glitch, but when you fall
through, aim to the right, and you should land inside the fish tanks. When
you are in then, you can't get out. Discovered by pictoshat.
Slide Kick to your death in the character change room.
Version: Any.
Next to Luigis door, there is a picture of Peach on the wall (not the one
which leads to the Secret Slide), on a little ledge. Coming from Luigis door,
jump into the little bit of walking space, and run into where the wall meets
the painting. Slide Kick, and aim towards the left, and you'll fall through to
your death and appear outside the castle. Discovered by aznbob.
Long Jump to your death in the character change room.
Version: Any.
As you enter the character change room, coming from the main lobby, turn to
your left. There is a corner where the wall which the door is on meets another
wall. Run into the corner, and you'll be able to keep on running. Now rapidly
dperform the long jump, and if you were angled correctly, you'll shoot up to
the top of the room, bang your head off the right wall, and get pushed through
the left one, where you will fall to your doom, and then re-appear outside the
castle. On your descent, you'll notice a weird graphic... Discovered by Mebi.
*NEW* Another way to do this has been found. You can now, as Mario, triple
jump up to the top of the arch, wall kick, then immediately ground pound. If
you did it correctly, you should fall through the wall to your death.
Alternative method discovered by rougehalo.
Spazm Luigi. *NEW*
Version: Any.
First go to the Character Change room in the castle and go to the corner
between Mario's room and the double doors and quickly slide to it, then try
to run and for a split second, you should look back and forth super fast.
Also, if you slide up to the side of the door it sort of looks like Luigi's
standing straight up. Discovered by numberonesbfan.
Slide backwards up the Secret Slide. *NEW*
Version: Any.
Go to the Secret Slide as Luigi. You can actually slide backwards all the way
to the top. To do it, basically start sliding down, then jump and scuttle
kick so you're going BACKWARDS and if you land right, you'll slide up.
Discovered by Oni Lukos.
Slide Kick to your death in the TTC/RR room.
Version: Any.
In the TTC/RR room (the room with the tree), facing the 50 star door, turn to
your right. There will be large steps leading up to BitS. Climb onto the
second of these steps, and run into the corner to your right. Slide kick while
running into it, and you'll fall to your death, and re-appear outside the
castle. Discovered by Swordless Link.
*NEW* NOTE: Sometimes, especially if oyu're Wario, when you do this, you
won't die, but you'll fall into the rooms on the floor below, like the Mirror
Room. That was discovered by cheatmaster30.
Hells Portal and Heavens Portal in the TTC/RR room. *NEW*
Version: Any.
In the TTC/RR room (the room with the tree), facing the 50 star door, turn to
your right. There will be large steps leading up to BitS. Climb onto the
second of these steps, and run into the corner to your right. Now, line
yourself up with the corner, so you're facing it at about 45 degrees, and
take a few steps back. Now charge up a run, then run right at the corner, but
when you're about two tiles away from it, slide kick into the corner, and
hold up and left. If you did it correctly, you'll either get a Heavens Portal
or a Hells Portal. If you get the Heavens Portal you'll be shot into the
"sky" of the area, and can land at the top of the endless stairs and thusly,
can beat the game with only 50 stars. If you get the Hells Portal, you'll
appear above the room in the slide kick position, and will continue sliding
forever, or until you press A or B at which point you'll die and re-appear
outside the castle. Heavens Portal Discovered by pictoshat. Hells Portal
discovered by peteyboo.
A much easier way to get the Heavens Portal in the TTC/RR room. *NEW*
Version: Any.
It's really the same as the above glitch, only this time, you do it at the
opposite side of the room, but still on the second step. It's much more
likely to produce a Heavens Portal than anything else on that side of the
room. Discovered by yodelerty.
Wall Kick to your death in the TTC/RR room.
Version: Any.
In the TTC/RR room (the room with the tree), you are actually able to wall
kick off of the tree, though it does require some good angling. When you do
wall kick off of it, it's possible to jump over the top of this room, as it
doesn't have a ceiling, and you'll fall to your death, and re-appear outside
the castle. Discovered by Eclipsed Echo.
Keep Yoshi's tongue stuck out in the basement.
Version: V1.
As Yoshi, go to the basement. At one of the wooden doors, there are two flames
quite close to eac hother. You have to jump up, and backwards flutter jump
into one of the flames, and try to lick the other before you touch it. If you
do correctly, your tongue will be stuck out until you press A, which will
cause him to breath fire once, then put it back in his mouth. Discovered by
Swordless Link.
Freeze your character in the basement.
Version: V1.
As Yoshi, jump and eat a rabbit in the basement. Now, as long as you keep
jumping, you won't spit him out. He'll only spit him out when he fully lands.
Anyway, make your way over to a door in the basement, and land right infront
of it. Yoshi'll spit out the rabbit, but walk through the door before he gives
his speech. Yoshi will now be frozen, and all you can do is move the camera.
Discovered by pictoshat.
Swim without any water in the basement.
Version: Any.
As Yoshi, chase your rabbit all the way around to the entrance to Shifting
Sand Land. Just before he turns and runs the other way, jump up and lick him
at the same time. If oyu did it correctly, you should land right up against
the entrance to SSL, and when you spit him out, you'll be merged with him.
Once his speech is given, hold up and rapdly press A or B. If all goes well,
you'll be forced through to the other side of the wall, and when he's done
talking this time, you'll fall into a pool of invisible water. From there, you
can swim around to BitFS with as little as one star! A very cool glitch.
Discovered by Icecube and Liwi.
An easier way to do the glitch is as follows. A lot of people will find that
jumping, eating him, and landing directly infront of SSL can be a tedious
task. But there is a better way to do it. Instead of jumping and licking the
rabbit, simply run alongside him, and JUST as he's turning, lick him up. Yoshi
will slide up to the entrance of SSL with him in his mouth, and then, the rest
is the same. Alternative method discovered by Swordless Link.
Never ending crouch.
Version: Any.
In the main lobby of the castle, go to the door which leads into the character
changing rom. Don't go in though. Instead, jump on top of the door, and
crouch. You will now be crouching, even after you let go of R. To get out,
simply jump. Discovered by rom_maniac.
The Black Floor of Death..
Version: Any.
Run up to the trap door leading to BitDW, and just as it starts to open with
you running on it, slide kick into the left corner, where the wall and the
invisible wall meet. If you are extremely lucky, you'll fall through, and will
bypass the entrance to BitDW, and will be walking in a small black area.
Jumping high enough will result in oyu entering the level. This glitch IS
possible, as I've done it once, but only once. It seems quite random.
Discovered by SnpbladeX.
Trapdoor Hells Portal.
Version: Any.
When attempting the "The Black Floor of Death." glitch, you may bypass not
only the level, but fall through the floor below it. This will result in you
sliding forever, and although it'll apear that you aren't moving, you are,
just really slowly. This happens A LOT more often that the "Black Floor of
Death" glitch. Discovered by peteyboo.
Get Behind the Mirror as any character. *NEW*
Version: Any.
Go to the mirror room on the second floor, now go to the right of the mirror
and start long jumping in the space where the pillar and wall meet. Find the
point where your character will be shot up the wall then keep jumping until
you go through. This can be used to unlock Wario before Luigi. Discovered by
godamit.
Crawl Around on the area above the locked door in the castle lobby. *NEW*
Version: Any.
Triple jump as anyone onto the steep area above the locked door in the castle
lobby. as soon as you land on it, let go of the D-Pad, hold R and press A.
You'll do a slide kick. While you're doing it, release A, and press up on the
D-Pad, still holding R. You can now crawl around up there. Discovered by
yodelerty.
Get Mario stuck on a railing. *NEW*
Version: Any.
Triple jump up from the centre of the star on the floor in the centre of the
castle lobby, up to the right side of the slope above the key door. Once up
there, slide kick and don't press any buttons. If you did it right, Mario
will turn around when he hits the railing, go over, and hit another railing.
Mario should now be stuck on the railing. To get him out, press B or A.

==Outside the castle==
Mess up Yoshi's movements in the Castle Grounds.
Version: Any. Easier with V1.
As Yoshi, chase a rabbit over the little bridge above the lake. Jump and lick
him up, and fall into the lake. Now, swim into a nearby steep wall, and Yoshi
should try to spit him out, but fall into the water before he does. Now when
you get back on land, Yoshi's movements will be comletely messed up. If you
keep jumping, you can still move around, but if you stop, Yoshi will move
without moving his legs at all. He'll just slide in the direction he was
facing before he stopped jumping. If you hit a corner, you can't get out of
it, as you can't jump anymore. If you slide off a ledge or into a steep hill,
then you'll have a chance to start jumping again. Discovered by Swordless
Link.
Fly out of bounds in the Castle Grounds.
Version: Any.
As Mario, get to the roof of the castle, Get the wings, and fly out towards
the far end of the lake. As you approach the invisible wall, tap up to
maintain a white smoke trail behind you. When you reach the invisible wall,
you should still have the trail. Now, release up, but continue to tap it
regularly to stop him from going "Wahoo!", as if you do that, you'll loose the
smoke trail, and will have to start this part of the glitch again. Anway
regularly press up to maintain the smoke trail, and you'll go up the wall
fast. When you reach the top (he'll stop going up), hold up again until you
get a smoke trail again, and then release it, and move around a lot at the top
of the wall. If you did it correctly, you should squeeze throuh the wall and
will now be flying out of bounds. This glitch takes a bit of practice, but
you'll get it if you stick at it. Discovered by VinciePie.
Climb down a tree into the water.
Version: Any.
Go to the cannon outside the castle. Near it, there is a tree on a very steep
slope. You have to run at it form belowm and jump and dive into the bottom of
the tree. If you are successful, you will grab the tree, but half of your body
will be underground! From there, all you have to do is climb down the tree
(don't jump) and you'll fall into the water below the ground. Form there, you
can enter the cannon, even if it's still locked, and get to the roof.
Discovered by AnglcDmn.
Walk underwater via the Wings.
Version: Any.
Get to the roof as Mario before draining the moat, but after you have the red
? blocks unlocked. Get his wings, then drop down from the roof. At the land
near the door leading into the basement, there is a slope which descends into
the water. You have to stand up against the grey wall (it can also be done the
the brown wall, but the grey one seems easier),face the water, and triple
jump. As you take off, hold on the D-pad, the direction the top of the lope is
in. If you did it correctly, you will slide underwater, but you must let Mario
get up on his own. Otherwise, you'll end up swimming, You can now walk around
underwater as Mario. Discovered by peteyboo.
Get stuck between the watefall and the hill.
Version: Any.
As Mario, get the wings from the roof. Fly over to the top of the watrefall,
and swoop up, then swoop down into where it touches the grassy hill. If you
hit the right part, you'll be stuck there, even after the wings wear off. The
camera is still moveable though. Discovered by Pinbi7_basic.
Mini Heavens Portal glitch.
Version: Any.
Get to the roof of the castle as anyone, and get to the patch of gras near the
top of the waterfall that you can walk on. Now, you have to run and slide kick
so that when you land from the slide kick, you are already on the hill. If you
do it correctly, you will bounce off the platform at the bottom of the hill,
and bounce up and crash into the grey wall, and will be sent a short distance
in the air. If you do it in VS mode, you'll be shot MUCH higher. Discovered by
peteyboo.
Überglitch.
Version: Any.
This is similar to the Mini Heavins Portal glitch, except this time, when you
land from the slide kick, make sure you land ON THE EDGE of the hill. In other
words, JUST where the hill starts. This'll give you enough speed to shoot off
the hill, bypassing the little platform at the bottom of it, and you'll crash
into the grey wall lower than you would do for the MHP, and you'll be shot to
the botom of the water. You can now walk underwater, and can enter the castle
basement with zero stars. This can be done in Adventure more, or VS, and can
be done wether the moat is drained or not. It can also be done as any
character. Discovered by gstlaivanrules.
Keep Yoshi's tongue out in the fountain area.
Version: V1.
As Yoshi, go to the fountain area with the Boos. Backwards flutter jump into
the water, but lick up a Boo before you hit it. If you done it right, your
tongue will be stuck out. You can no longer leave the area. as he acts like
the door is just a normal piece of wall, and pressing A or getting hit by a
Boo will cause the game to freeze. Discovered by toxbox.
Ghostly Rabbit.
Version: Any.
As Wario, go to the fountain area with the Boos. This requires good timing and
a bit of luck, so be patient. You have t dive at his rabbit, but get hit by a
Boo just afterwards. If you done it right, the rabbit will be fake. You can
walk through it, and if you stand still in it, you'll look like you have
rabbit's ears! Discovered by Legend of Hyrule.
Messed up sound. *NEW*
Version. Any.
Once you've ogtten to the last Bowser as someone other than Mario via the
"Heavens Portal in the TTC/RR room" glitch, make sure you have only two health
remaining at the end of the battle. When you do, you'll find that you die
during the credits and appear outside the castle. The sound will now be messed
up. You can still hear your character, and the music, but no other sounds are
there, like the doors opening, or the enemy sounds. Discovered by peteyboo.

informative site, from which I learned a lot about this games glitches.

Anyone who's ever e-mailed me a glitch or told me a glitch that wasn't in the
FAQ.
