# OPENING #
###########
In the days of Gold & Silver I would inform a great many people
about the latest antics of the Pokemon Center New York. I
provided details on the rare Pokemon that the store was
distributing. The store didnt give away quite as many special
Pokemon during the Advance generation of Pokemon, but it gave
away a few.
Today, almost all of the event Pokemon are up for trade on the
global Pokemon wireless network. There seem to be more event
Pokemon then any person dares to list. People are posting about
what they have to offer and what theyre looking for. Many of
what is being posted are fakes. Gathering information from all
sectors of the web and my collection of NYC Pokemon, Ive
compiled this guide. It primarily serves as a guide to help
check the legitimacy of Pokemon being offered in trades. It also
serves as a checklist of sorts for those who aspire to collect
all of the event Pokemon.
HAPPY HUNTING!

# VISUAL GUIDE #
################
The dedicated team at a website has made a visual guide, which
has been given my full blessing.
Theyve done a lot of work making that page and the rest of the
site is very promising.
Its been having some issues but it should be up soon.

# UPCOMING EVENTS #
###################
There has been some amount of demand that I inform people as to
when events will occur. Im not always available to inform
people, but I will try to use this section, as a newflash of
sorts for major upcoming events.
Australia
- No schedule events, check local websites to learn of any
possible events.
North America
- No scheduled events, check www.pokemon.com to learn of any
possible events.
- Darkrai probably coming soon.
Europe
- No scheduled events, check local websites to learn of any
possible events.
Japan
- Birthday event in Tokyo.
- Strongest events.

~ 2.0 Terminology/FAQ ~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
--------==-----------
- 2.1 Terminology -
----------==---------
Some terms to keep in mind. They mainly arise to trades from
Pokemon given by people in the event community. This list is
organized alphabetically.
Action Replay Cheat device that can create new Pokemon.
Clone Pokemon has been cloned, meaning there is an identical
copy of this Pokemon around. Almost all Pokemon distributed in
the event community are cloned.
Glitch Pokemon obtained via glitch. Darkrai and Shaymin are
commonly used examples. The use of such a glitch is the reason
Nintendo opted for a different means of distributing Darkrai.
Pokesav Cheat program used to generate Pokemon.
Semi-Legit A Pokemon that is not legit, but not a full hack.
This is used often to describe Pokemon who are on special islands
that can only be accessed by either hacking or using a glitch.
With the exceptions of glitch Pokemon a cheat device had to be
used to obtain the Pokemon, so they could be considered as good
as cheated. The use of such a glitch is the reason Nintendo
opted for a different means of distributing Darkrai.
Touched Pokemon has been used since being received. Might bear
some experience, be subject to the Pokerus or other such
condition.
Untouched Pokemon has not had any training or vitamins since it
was received. There are no EVs, status effects, Pokerus or EXP.
This also includes ideally the original movesets.
Wondercard
(1) Means of distribution for events. A Wondercard is a bit of
data that is retrieved at the event. A Diamond/Pearl game can
hold 3 Wondercards of data. Some Wondercards can be distributed
to friends, but this is usually only the case if it doesnt
provide a Pokemon.
(2) A condition given to Pokemon if the source was a hacked
Wondercard. This is not always the case, as sometimes people opt
to use methods (used often by traders to clone Pokemon), to clone
the Wondercards, instead of the Pokemon. This behavior is not
considered appropriate by many in the event community (even
amongst those who opt to clone Pokemon).
- 2.2 FAQ -
-------------
READ THESE BEFORE EMAILING ME.
These questions are based off of emails that I have received.
They are not however, a copy and paste job. I value my sanity
too much, so Ive improved some of these by utilizing all that a
kindergarten education has afforded me. I have changed the
grammar and spelling. This has the artificial effect of making
the words appear to have come from a more intelligent source. As
a consequence you, my reader, seem smarter! So it works out both
ways!
Q: How do you get Arceus? How do you get Shaymin?
A: Nintendo has not revealed the means to obtain them yet, so Im
not going to go and second guess them. If you ask about these
Pokemon I will ignore you.
Q: I love your guide. How do you get to obtain <insert Pokemon
here>?
A: So you love my guide, but you havent checked out the list of
the Pokemon. Section 7.0 is where you want to go. I called it
the Full List because it has all the Pokemon in it. Use that as
a resource. I wrote this guide to help people; it is not a
beacon that you can send me any message about even Pokemon
because you dont want to read a lot of text. I value emails,
especially more so if it helps the guide. I do not like to
answer questions Ive already answered, especially one that can
be found with the find function of your internet browser.
Q: How do I clone?
A: That is not my responsibility, this guide does not serve to
inform you how you can clone a Pokemon and will serve no such
purpose.
Q: How do I use the find function of my browser?
A: Ctrl + F should bring a magical box. Inside of this box you
put the name of a Pokemon and you will see where the name
appears. However, to get to the Pokemon of the full list in a
rather rapid manner put in the 3 digit correlation to it in the
National Dex. If the Pokemon has a number below 100, put ZERO
(0) as a placeholder in front of the number. For instance,
Bulbasaur becomes 001.
Q: Im worried Im going to miss an event. May you tell me when
events will occur?
A: No. Not because Im mean, which I may seem to be from writing
this section of the guide, but because I do not know when every
event will occur. I am not in contact with Nintendo; it is
possible for me to miss an event. Your best bet is to keep
watching Pokemon websites. Your local official Pokemon site is a
good bet. Certain Pokemon fan sites tend to relay event
information better then others. I recommend pokemonelite2000 and
filb.de for information on upcoming events, in the past theyve
done an extraordinary job of informing people about their events.
Q: I got <Insert Pokemon>! Is it real?
A: I cant tell. There are techniques and such to examine to
check the authenticity, but ultimately one can hack a great many
Pokemon and there are few ways to be 100% sure. You can however,
make sure the Pokemon matches proper descriptions, which should
eliminate the bad hacks. You can also check into the traders
reputation and other Pokemon.
Please remember, Im not an email service to constantly ask
questions from. I do not serve as a middleman or a private
investigator into another persons background. If its a Pokemon
I dont have mentioned, please tell me, but it would be great if
you could give me more information about the alleged event.
Where do people say the Pokemon is from and such information,
that helps out a lot.
Q: What Pokeball should the event Pokemon be in?
A: Almost always theyll be found in a normal Pokeball (white
bottom, red top). If the Pokemon is caught using a ticket, then
it can come from any Pokeball. If it has specific trainer
information or is hatched from an egg it will only come in a
Pokeball (or Cherish Ball). So far only Japanese Pokemon have
been distributed in the Cherish ball.
Q: Can I use your FAQ in my site?
A: It depends. Im far more willing to let smaller or Pokemon
related sites use this FAQ. I feel GameFAQs/Gamespot is an
appropriate medium. I dont particularly feel like informing
more then one site about each update, especially given how simple
it is to update on GameFAQs. Im a little reluctant to spend a
great deal of effort to make sure all the big sites have it, when
it seems to take more effort on my part then its worth. That
being said, I like Pokemon sites and smaller sites and am willing
to make a deal.
Q: Where do you catch Feebas?
A: This guide is not supposed to serve the purpose of answering
that question. I dont intend to make a subsection for a Pokemon
like Feebas. The purpose of this guide is to discuss the event
Pokemon that Nintendo has distributed outside of the course of a
normal game run.
Q: Are you talking about me in the next section?
A: No, Im simply informing people as to the flaws of relying
upon HEX verification services.
Q: Can you help me funnel millions of dollars out of Nigeria? I
simply need your bank account information.
Q: Your brother died in a crash many years ago. He was very
wealthy. If you want his money give me your bank account
information.
Q: Can I get your bank account information?
Q: Would you like to add 3 inches and impress the ladies?
A: NO. *&)#* NO! I dont tolerate spam mail. I hate it, and
yet I notice that its increased since Ive written this guide.
--------------------------
- 2.3 Hex Verification
--------------------------
Ultimately all Pokemon are simply small bits of data that is
stored in the memory banks of the DS Game Card and at times its
RAM. Because of this, it is possible to look into the core data
of a Pokemon, or its HEX.
I would advise against HEX Verification, because unlike other
methods of examining Pokemon, there are no available guides. It
comes from personal research by individuals capable of running
such a service. There in lays the first flaw, there are limited
means of verifying that individuals are actually researching the
HEX code.
This brings us to the next point. Many (the majority) of these
HEX verification services are one of two things (or a combination
thereof).
Scams They claim to be taking your Pokemon to verify its
legitimacy, when in actuality the individuals are creating large
personal collections of Pokemon obtained under false premises.
Elitist Preservation This happens when a certain group has the
authority in a community. To maintain their exclusive control,
the group will run all sorts of verification services, with the
primary intent of declaring (possibly falsely) certain Pokemon to
be hacks. When other methods are exhausted, they resort to
declaring the HEX code false. This is done with little research,
for the intention of keeping out competition from those groups.
As new event Pokemon come along, until a member of the group
discovers the Pokemon, the others are declared to be fakes. If
competion emerges, this is a means of keeping it down.
It is difficult to say what exactly HEX code examination can
verify. Cheat Devices and Pokesav both can leave marks on
Pokemon if the user is not careful, which would change the nature
of the code.
Wonder Card Saves however, cannot be examined from a HEX level.
The nature is that one attends the event and makes a copy of the
save, preserving the Wonder Card, allowing them to later generate
the Pokemon. Any person claiming to be able to tell a Pokemon
that is generated from a Wonder Card Save is not knowledgeable
into the programming aspects of the Nintendo DS or any electronic
devices in general.
Ive received a lot of questions upon HEX verification, my stance
is that unless you can do it yourself, do not rely upon others to
do it for you, as often times they will be self-motivated in
running a HEX verification service.
------------------------------
- 2.4 Date of Events Issue -
------------------------------
GBA Pokemon
This corresponds to the date during which they were brought over
through Pal Park. No date should be too suspicious as Emerald
has the easiest available cloning method and can also be used to
carry over items, so incentive exists.
DS Pokemon
Most events will have the date during which the event took place.
Others will not. The date should generally be in the ball park
of the event there are factors that could change the date on the
Pokemon.
The Clock Is Wrong It happens, if your DS internal clock is
wrong the date on the Pokemon will be wrong.
Soft Resetting The big one. Most of the actual experts in
Pokemon, will soft reset in an effort to generate the best
Pokemon. If the Pokemon is competitive (any Legendary or well
moved Pokemon) expect some to have been Soft Reset. There are
times when it takes days to produce the perfect version of a
Pokemon, so the date could be off.
DO NOT BELIEVE IN RARER DATES. If an individual claims certain
dates are rarer then others, it generally isnt worth pursuing.
Since the date relies upon the DS and not the actual date of the
event there is no simple verification means. Certain events will
have dates that are rarer or more common, but that doesnt mean
that the Pokemon was picked up on that day. Some opportunistic
traders may wait until a rare day emerges and change their DS
clock to have a rare day Pokemon.
instance, the first Pokemon would be 00001. The number therefore
| EUROPE TOP 10 POKEMON |
\-----------------------/
In early 2006, an online poll was conducted to determine what the
Europeans viewed as their 10 favorite Pokemon. This was similar
to the Top 20 that the US had.
The results indicated that the following 10 Pokemon had won the
poll and would be distributed throughout events in Europe.
Charizard
Pikachu (Light Ball Attached)
Articuno
Raikou
Entei
Suicune
Lugia
Ho-oh
Latias
Latios
Events took place in various European countries (France, Germany,
Italy, Netherlands, Spain and the United Kingdom)
The information on the Pokemon is very symbolic. The ID # on all
European distributions is 06227. This represents February 27 of
the year 2006, which was the actual date of the tenth anniversary
of the Japanese release of the Red & Green versions. The OT
corresponds to something that indicates these are indeed special
10th Anniversary Pokemon.
Some of the Pokemon have different names then the English
Versions. The German & French names of Pokemon are different.
The Italian and Spanish names correspond entirely to the English
System.
If you receive a Pikachu from these promotions, assuming youve
unlocked the ability for foreign Pokedex entries but have not yet
received a Pikachu from that country, the foreign entry must now
be available. If it is not, you have been traded a fake. The
exception is the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, which do not
unlock special Pokedex entries.
Yes, this is the same information as the British distribution.
Only 7 of the Pokemon will overlap. French and British Pikachu
are different in the national dex entry that they unlock.
Charizard and Articuno must bear the French names to be
distributed in the French promotion.
There are NO RESTRICTIONS on the nature of this Pokemon. There
are some who will tell you that the only known Pokemon are of a
certain nature, this is only true amongst those restricted within
certain communities. The event itself placed no restrictions
upon the Pokemon.
There were also certain individuals compelled to lie about the
OT/ID #. The information stating that the ID is 71407 is
absolutely fabricated and anybody who maintains such a position
is of questionable reliability.
- 6.1 Pokemon Colosseum -
----------------------------
Games Eligible: Pokemon Colosseum
Release Date:
November 21, 2003 (Japan)
March 22, 2004 (North America)
May 15, 2004 (North America)
While technically not an event the Ho-oh from Colosseum is very
unusual and warrants a mention in the pages of this guide.
Upon completing Battle Mountain under certain circumstances (the
details of which are listed in any good Colosseum FAQ), one is
rewarded a Ho-oh. The Ho-oh gives its location as being a
faithful encounter, like so many other event Pokemon.
The Ho-oh, unlike what some other sources may state, do not take
the OT & ID of the trainer. For all English releases the
following information is given. The IVs and Nature are
determined randomly when the Pokemon is awarded to the user.
However, they cant be soft reset and as such one must settle
with whatever Ho-oh one receives.
OT: Mattle
ID: 10048
Level - 70
The information is symbolic.
- 6.2 Pokemon Box -
----------------------
Games Eligible Ruby, Sapphire, Fire Red, Leaf Green & Emerald
Release Date:
May 30, 2003 (Japan)
July 12, 2004 (North America)
2004 (Europe)
Pokemon Box was a Pokemon storage system for the Gamecube. It
allowed up to 1500 Pokemon to be stored. As you stored more
Pokemon, you would receive bonus eggs with special moves!
Swablu with False Swipe
Zigzagoon with Extremespeed
Skitty with Pay Day
Pichu with Surf*
*HM moves must be deleted in order to transfer to Pokemon Diamond
or Pearl, so the Pichu with Surf would become an ordinary Pichu,
which is rather limited in trade value.
While False Swipe has since become a TM, neither Swablu or
Altaria can learn the move through such means, requiring the use
of Pokemon Box to obtain the move on the Pokemon.
-------------------------------------
- 6.3 Pokemon Emerald Eon Ticket -
-------------------------------------
The Eon Ticket cannot directly be distributed to Pokemon Emerald.
However, any Eon Ticket originating from an event (including the
E Card) can be transferred by use of the MIX RECORDS function.
This allows for players in Pokemon Emerald to use the Eon Ticket.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
^ 7.0 Full List ^
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
This is a list, in numerical order, with all Pokemon listed. All
known distributions (if any) are listed. If the Pokemon has no
listed promotion, then one should be skeptical of anybody
claiming that is the opposite is true.
Any Pokemon can be traded for by using wireless friend codes.
HOW TO USE THIS LIST
This list is organized by the National Dex numbering of Pokemon.
If you want to find any particular Pokemon, simply search for its
number and name with a space between, and you should find it. To
maintain order, all numbers below 100 have place holder 0s
before them.
Below each Pokemon, first should appear event information (if
any). If the Pokemon says Not distributed as an Event Pokemon
then no event is known for the Pokemon.
If it lists events, it should list all of them. Events are
listed in chronological order. Quickly find the Pokemon.
It will give the lowest level it was distributed at and OT and ID
information. Those must match for the Pokemon to be legitimate.
### ATTENTION ###
Almost every Advance Generation promotion will have the following
traits.
Ball: Pokeball (Nintendo only distributed Pokemon in Pokeballs)
Location: HOENN
For some reason, Nintendo decided to map out the faithful
encounter to Hoenn, with the exception of eggs that are hatched.
