'Assassin's Creed: Altair's Chronicles' is a Nintendo DS prequal to 'Assassin's
Creed' for the PS3, Xbox 360 and (Not yet released) PC. The game follows the
story of the protagonist from the previous game, Altair in the events that
lead up to him becoming an Assassin. After discovering that his home village
has been attacked by the Templars, Altair is sent off to find the Chalice which
has the potential to bring together the Templars and the Saracens.

C) Hints and Tips
=================
- Make good use of the R button especially when on ground level.
Holding R when you move will allow you to walk. This will prevent
you from drawing too much attention to yourself.
- Break all the vases you see. Not only do they contain red orbs
(health) but many of them also contain blue orbs which will allow
you to upgrade you health and sword.
- Block when fighting multiple enemies. Belive me, it will save your
life. Block by simply holding the R button whilst your sword is
drawn. You can also counter by pressing Y or X whilst blocking.
- The arrow and markers are your friends. You shouldn't ever be stuck
as to where to go next as these guys will always point you in the
right direction.

3. Game Walkthrough [ACGW33]

Coming Home 1-1 [ACGW3A1]
O---------------O
As soon as you take control of Altair, climb up onto the building
where the green arrow is pointing by simply running into it using the D-Pad.
Once on top, touch the blue marker. The arrow along with these markers will
guide you through the entire game. Climb up to your right to collect your
first blue orb. These orbs can be used to upgrade your health and sword and
is explained in the small tutorial that follows. Continue to follow the green
arrow, collecting orbs as you go.
Head up the ladder. As the game instructs you, run towards to arrow
and press B to jump into the blue marker on the next building. Continue to
go right collecting the orbs. Hold R and cross the beam. Once across, walk
south and across the next beam to your right. Follow the arrow into the next
checkpoint.
Follow the arrow to your right and head down to ground level.
Follow the orbs east untill you reach the blue marker. The game will tell you
to hold R again. This will enable you to walk, preventing you from attracting
unwanted attention. Follow the arrow whilst hold R untill you reach the next
marker. You will find that the gate is locked so head over to the merchant
indicated by the blue marker above his head and press A to interact with him.
Pickpocket Minigame
-------------------
Talking to the merchant triggers a minigame. You will be asked
whether or not you are left-handed and a tutorial will be given on how to
play the minigame. Using the touch-screen, you must first clear away the
darkness. This is done by simply touching it with the stylus. Next you must
drag the key out of the bag (again using the touch-screen) without touching
the edges of the bag or the other items. As this is merely a tutorial, there
will be no penalty for messing up but in the real thing, the red bar at the
top of the touch screen will be drained each time you make a mistake.
Now it's time to play the minigame for real. This time it is timed.
As your time runs out, the red bar will slowly be drained. You should,
however, have plenty of time and you should focus more on avoiding the edges
and other items in the bag rather than trying to be quick. If your bar runs
down completely, you will fail. If this happens, don't worry, you can simply
try again. You will win by successfully dragging the key out of the bag.
Once you have done this, you can follow the arrow east and open the gate.
There is a vase containing a red orb on the way to the gate. Red orbs
replenish your health so grab it if you need it by approaching the vase
and pressing A.
Coming Home 1-2 [ACGW3A2]
O---------------O
Once through the gate, Altair finds that the village is under attack.
Follow the arrow east where you will find the path is blocked. Follow the
arrow back to the blue marker and head south into the checkpoint.
Head east untill you reach a stone structure. Use the steps to climb
on top of it. Wait for the metal spikes to move and then quickly run off of
the other side of the building. Go across the beam (remember to hold R) and
past the spikes into the checkpoint.
Run and jump (B button) across the broken bridge and follow the arrow
east across another bridge into a blue marker. Navigate through the spikes
but don't touch them. Although they aren't moving, they will still kill you
in one hit so I suggest you walk around them by holding R. Once you have
passed through the spikes, follow the arrow down the slope. Head east into
the checkpoint and drop onto the wooden ledge.
Whilst holding R, go across the beam and jump onto the small platform.
Jump again onto the wooden ledge in front of you and pull yourself up by
hitting up on the D-Pad. Jump up onto the next ledge and then up onto the
grass and into the blue marker. Follow the arrow down into the checkpoint.
Follow the arrow east for a short cutscene.

You will now get your first taste of combat. Draw your sword as
instructed by either touching the sword icon or pressing Y and follow the
arrow east to your first enemy. Attack him by pressing the Y button or X
button. Once he's down, head east towards the gate. Here the game will
teach you two new attack combos.
The Quick Strikes
-----------------

I tend to stick with 'The Quick Strikes' but it's a matter of
personal preference. I would suggest that you play around with both combos.
Coming Home 1-3 [ACGW3A3]
O---------------O
After the combo tutorial you will find yourself on the other side of
the gate in the buring village. Follow the arrow east and you will come across
two enemies that you must defeat. Remember the combos from the tutorial and
use them to help you. The enemies shouldn't pose too much of a threat. Once
you have dealt with them, carry on east untill you come to a support beam.
The game will instruct you to destroy it by pressing A.
Head up the collapsed roof and down the otherside where you will
confront more enemies. The game will give you another small tutorial on
blocking and counter-attacking. To block and enemies attack, press the R
button and to counter, press either Y or X whilst blocking. Countering an
enemies attack will temporarily stun them.
Once you have defeated these enemies, continue east where you will
fight another enemy. After he is down, follow the arrow to the next enemy and
then onto the ladder. Before you climb the ladder, kill the red enemy to your
right who is firing arrows at you and grab the blue orb behind him. Climb the
ladder and walk into the checkpoint.
Follow the arrow west across the rooftops, collecting the blue orbs
as you go. You will come to a blue marker where you will find another enemy
in red. Approch him and press A.
Interrogation Minigame
----------------------
Touch the screen and you will be shown a tutorial on the minigame.
The concept is simple enough. All you have to do is touch the numbers as
ring closes in on it and turns from red to green. Anybody who has played
'Elite Beat Agents' or 'Ouendan' will be very familiar with it. You do
not have to be very precise at all which makes it much easier.
As with the pickpocketing minigame, you will be timed and you time is
represented in the red bar at the top of the touch-screen. The bar will also
decrease with each mistake you make.
Once you finish the minigame you will get a checkpoint. From here,
head south-west around the fire and into the marker. Then head south across
the bridge. Don't hang around as it will collapse if you take too long. Run
and jump west onto the platform where you will be given a checkpoint.
Continue west across the platforms untill you reach the next
checkpoint. From there, run and jump onto the platform to the north where the
arrow is pointing. Here you will face some more enemies. Mashing on the Y
button should do the trick. Once they are down, follow the arrow down off the
building to the blue marker. Kill the enemy in red who is shooting at you.
Go down the ladder and kill the enemies at the bottom. I suggest you
take out the guy in red who is shooting at you first (he should only take one
hit). Continue to follow the arrow west untill you get to a beam with an enemy
(the leader) at the end. Walk across the beam and continue to hold R to walk
up behind him undetected. Press A to perform a stealth kill which will take
him out instantly.
Contine west and you'll bump into a guy who is dress exactly like you
are. After a small bit of dialogue, walk into the marker to trigger a
cutscene.
Coming Home 1-4 [ACGW3A4]
O---------------O
Follow the markers down the stairs to the west. Once at the bottom,
continue west to the next marker. Slide down the slope and head through the
door on the north-west side of the courtyard. As you go through the door you
will pick up 2 new skills: Hidden Blade and Wall Climbing. A tutorial will
be give on these a little later in the game. You will also pick up a new
combo.
Face Backhand

The Hunt Begins 2-1 [ACGW3B1]
O-------------------O
After a short dialogue use the wall climb skill to climb the wall in
front of you where the arrow is pointed. Climb up onto the wooden platform and
grab the orbs. Run and jump onto the roof just west of your posistion. Head
through the tar (tap A repeatedly to sprint) and into the checkpoint.
Jump across the gap onto the rooftop and grab another checkpoint. Walk
across the left beam, collecting the orbs as you go. Once across, follow the
arrow west to the marker. From there, head north across the beam and grab the
orbs. There are another 2 orbs on the beam to your right however I, personally
found it quite tricky to land on. If you fall, you can always load your last
checkpoint from the pause menu. I managed to clear the gap by doing a
diagonal jump.
Once across the beam, follow the arrow west and quickly run and jump
across the platforms. Be quick as they will collapse. From here you can see
your target but first you must take out the guard in front of you. Hold R as
instructed to sneak up behind up. Press A to grab him and A again to kill him.
When he's taken care of, walk across the beam and into the checkpoint.
Following the arrow, jump across to the next checkpoint on the rooftop
west of you. Jump again onto the next rooftop. You should be right above your
target now. Drop down to ground level and sneak up behind him holding R. Press
A to assassinate him. This will automatically alert the guards.
Run straight up the wall onto the rooftop you just dropped from. There
should be a blue marker here. Following the arrow, climb up the north wall and
up onto the platform. Take a right down the slope and collect the orbs as you
slide down. At the bottom of the slope, jump up onto the roof to the west.
Here there will be a short diaglogue. Once it's over, follow him west
and drop down into the building. From here, follow the arrow east into the
room where you will trigger another dialogue. You will gain the grappling hook
skill here which will come in handy soon.
Head west back where you came from and climb the ladder. Walk south
around the edge of the building and drop down to ground level. Follow the
arrow into the marker.
The Hunt Begins 2-2 [ACGW3B2]
O-------------------O
Follow the arrow east and climb the ladder with the blue marker at the
bottom. Climb up onto the rooftop to your left and from here, jump onto the
roof top on the right. It's time to put the grappling hook skill into good use.
Walk to the edge of the roof and when prompted, hit the A button. Altair should
shoot his grappling hook at the glowing point and swing to the platform. At the
end of your swing, hit B to jump onto the next platform.
Continue east through the tar (break the vases if you need some health).
Move the crate out of your way with the A button and run down the plank of
wood. Again, use the A button to grapple and jump onto the eastern platform.
Jump over the spikes and continue a little to the east. You will be instructed
to push the crate off the roof onto the guard below. Do this by pressing the A
button and hitting right on the D-Pad.
Once you've pushed the crate onto the guard, drop down from the roof
top and follow the arrow south-east into the blue marker. Grab the crate and
throw it into the blue marker that should appear by the eastern wall. Jump
on top of the crate and climb the wall to reach a checkpoint.
Climb onto the roof to your right and break the vase for some orbs.
Head north and jump over the spikes and up onto the platform for yet another
checkpoint.
Walk across the beam into the marker. Head south and you should see
a couple of scorpion looking creatures. You can either attack them with your
sword or jump over them. From here, grapple and jump onto the easter platform
and grab the checkpoint.
Head south and be quick to avoid falling when the roof collapses. Here
you will have to do 2 grapples to reach the next platform. To do this, stand at
the ledge and hit A to do the first grapple. At the end of your swing, hit B to
jump like you normally would do but this time hit A again straight after to
perform another grapple. At the end of your second grapple press B again to
jump onto the platform and reach a checkpoint.
From here, climb up onto the ledge to your right and then, following
the arrow, use to platforms to drop down to ground level. Head into the marker
and you will find that the door is locked. The guard in the tower has the key.
Jump onto the platform behind you and make your way east up the slope jumping
over the spikes. You will reach a checkpoint once at the top.
Once you are in the tower, hold R to sneak up on the guard. Press A
behind him to trigger another pickpocket minigame. This one is much harder
than the last once. Remember, do not rush. Be very careful whilst dragging the
key especially when trying to get it around the knife. Don't worry if you lose,
you can simply try again untill you win.

Now that you have the key, head back down the slope (remember to avoid
the spikes) and open the door to get a checkpoint.
Pick up the crate and place it in front of the tower of crates just in
front of you. Climb on top of the crate and then run up onto the tower. Jump
and grab onto the red rope to your right. Build up a powerful swing by
alternating between the left and right buttons on the D-Pad to avoid the
scorpions and grab the next rope above them. From here, jump onto the wooden
platform and then jump to your right onto the ledge and exit through the door.
Head east (don't miss the vase) down the slope onto the roof top. Drop
down to ground level for a short dialogue. Approach him and press A to trigger
another Interrorgation minigame. This shouldn't be too hard at all.
Once you've beaten the minigame you will be attack by three guards.
Take them out and follow the arrow east. Climb up onto the market stall then
then climb again up onto the rooftop for a checkpoint.
At this point in the game I had 100 blue orbs which is enough to buy
an upgrade. You may have 100 orbs already or you may not quite have reach that
many yet. It doesn't matter if you don't have enough just yet but if you do,
you can now press the blue button at the top right corner of the touch screen
to purchase an upgrade. You can either upgrade your lifebar or your sword. I
chose to upgrade my lifebar but neither upgrade is a bad decision
From the checkpoint head east across the beam. Climb up onto the roof
top to your right with the vase on top and continue east through the tar.
Carry on east up through some more tar and jump the gap for a short dialogue.
The Hunt Begins 2-3 [ACGW3B3]
O-------------------O
Follow the arrow north-west and climb onto the platform into the
marker. Climb your rooftop to your left and grab the 2 orbs. From here, jump
onto the eastern rooftop. Collect the orb and walk across the beam. Break the
vase in front of you and walk east across another beam. Head down onto another
beam (be careful, part of the ledge collapses) and grab the checkpoint.
Drop down and get the orb. Jump and grab the rope and then jump onto
the platform to your right. Continue east and kill the scorpion on the ledge
leading south. Jump onto the rooftop to the south where the arrow is pointing
to get a checkpoint.
From here, follow the arrow east across the ledge and into the marker.
Here there will be 2 scorpions. Kill them with your sword or, if you want, you
can grab the crate and throw it on top of them. Follow the arrow up onto the
rooftop with the tar running down it. Climb up onto the next rooftop with the
scorpions. Kill them and head east down the slopes grabbing the orbs as you
go. You should land on a blue marker. From here, head east into the checkpoint
at the bottom of the ladder.
Climb the ladder and then onto the rooftop to your right. Grab the 2
orbs whilst you're there. Continue east and quickly jump across the collapsing
buildings with the blue markers on top of them. On the second building,
quickly drop down onto the southern ledge with the orbs on it. Collect the
orbs and jump across the gap where the ledge will collapse. From there, head
south into the checkpoint.
Continue east across the ledge being careful not to fall when it
collapses. Jump across the beams and continue across the ledge untill you
reach a rooftop with another checkpoint on it.
Follow the arrow north across the ledges and climb up onto the rooftop
for yet another checkpoint.
Head west from here and jump into the open room with the oil barrels.
Grab a torch from the box in front of you by pressing A. Stand back and press
A again to throw it into the oil barrels in the north-west corner of the room.
This will trigger a dialogue.
Follow the arrow south and drop down to ground level into the marker
to trigger another short dialogue. After the dialogue, press A to assassinate
him. This will alert the guards. Don't bother taking them on. Instead climb
the wall that you just dropped from and run up the ladder in front of your.
Head east across the ledge and up onto the rooftop with the marker on top.
Press A to kick down the bridge in front of you and continue east
through the markers. Go across the ledge and down the slope. You'll find
yourself back on ground level. You will also pick up a new skill: Wall to
Wall. Head south east into the marker. Here you'll learn a new combo.
The Light Sting

A finishing move that works on a stunned opponent, dealing heavy
damage.
The Dancer 3-1 [ACGW3C1]
O--------------O
After finding what he wanted from Tamir, Altair returns to the keeper
to ask where he can find a dancer named Fajera. The keeper tells Altair that
she can be found at a circus on Market Street...
The Dancer 3-2 [ACGW3C2]
O--------------O
After a bit of dialogue you will find yourself in a battle
with a big ugly axe-wielding fella'. This boss may be a little confusing at
first but is actually very easy to beat. The idea is to let him swing and miss.
His axe should get stuck in the floor. Whilst he is try to pull it out, you
must hit the X button as prompted, to perform a strong attack. However the
timing window is very small. Once his axe is stuck in the ground, approach him
and an X button icon should appear above his head. You must press the X button
in time with the icon. You can only deal damage to him by pressing the X button
whilst standing in front of him. It may take a few tries but you should be able
to get it. After you have done this, just repeat it a couple more times and
he'll be defeated.
From here, follow the arrow west for a checkpoint. Here you must use
your wall to wall skill. To do this, simply jump between the walls by pressing
the B button repeatedly. Once you reach the top, follow the arrow through the
marker and across the beam.
Here you will face an enemy dress in red. You should be able to take
him out in one hit. Once he's down, head west and drop down. Then continue
left into the checkpoint.
Follow the arrow south across the ledge. Jump to the next ledge and
go onto the rooftop into the marker. Follow the arrow west from here. The
wooden planks will collapse if you tread on them so you must use your grapple
get across. Continue west into the marker, then head north by jumping onto the
platform in front of you. Jump again to the northern rooftop to reach a
checkpoint.
Jump onto the western rooftop. Continue to follow the arrow west
collecting orbs as you go. Drop down and walk into the checkpoint.
Follow the arrow west and jump across the fire into the marker.
Continue south across the ledge and jump onto the western platform. From here
head north across the ledge. Watch out for the people throwing rocks at you
from below. Grab the rope and swing over the collapsing bridge. Follow the
arrow south into the marker and continue west across the ledge. Jump onto the
wall with the scorpions to reach a checkpoint.
Kill the scorpion and follow the arrow up the wall into the marker.
Step onto the ledge to your left and jump across the western platform. You
will reach a bridge. Do not step onto it as it will collapse. Instead, jump
onto the wooden ledges above the bridge and use them to get across. At the end
of the bridge you should land on a platform. From here, jump west onto a
wooden platform and then up onto the wall into a checkpoint.
The guard hasn't seen you yet so hold R to sneak up behind (be careful
of the rocks being thrown at you) and Press A to get him in a hold and A again
to kill him. Head west across the beam and then up onto the rooftop into the
marker. Jump over the fire and into the next marker collecting the orbs as
you go. Jump again onto the rooftop west of you to find another unfortunate
guard. As before, hold R to sneak up on him and use the A button to take him
out.
From here, drop down onto the rooftop south of you. Grab the orb to your
left and drop down to ground level for a cutscene.
Climb back up to rooftop you just dropped down from and step onto the
wooden platform to your left. From here, jump towards the grapple point and
press A in mid-air to grapple. At the end of your swing, jump onto the rooftop
at the other end and kill the guy dressed in red.
Follow the arrow west up onto the rooftops into the marker. Drop
down into the tar and then down again to ground level where you will bump
ionto Fajera and trigger a dialogue.

After the dialogue, follow Fajera out through the gate.
The Dancer 3-3 [ACGW3C3]

After the short dialogue, follow the blue orbs down into the sewers.
Head down the stairs and jump over the gap. Press L to crouch and move through
the space. Continue east and jump over the gap the jump again to the checkpoint
south of your position.
Head east down the stairs and jump the gap at the bottom. Wait for the
water to stop spraying from the vent and then continue east. As instructed,
press B to jump across the two beams and onto the other side. Follow the arrow
east and jump onto the platform where you will face an enemy. Be careful not to
fall of while fighting him. Once he's down, jump onto the northern platform and
then again onto the platform to your right being careful not to be killed by the
water being sprayed from the vent. Here you will find a checkpoint.
Jump onto the big platform eastwards where you will fight two more
enemies. When you have defeated them, go south across the beam. At the end of
the beam, jump off onto the ledge and continue east. Climb up onto the big
stone step, then again up onto the beam and collect the orb. Go north up the
beam onto ledge. Be careful to avoid the water from the vents and grab the
checkpoint.
Follow the arrow east across the beam. Avoid the water from the vents
and jump onto the next beam. Head east onto the platform where you will face
more enemies. Once they are down, walk over to the shiny chest. The game will
instruct you to blow into the mic in order to move the sand and open the chest.
Once you have done this, you will be prompted to press the A button. This will
open the chest and you will recieve some blue orbs.
Continue to follow the arrow east. Jump onto the platform with the
marker on it and head north across the platforms to reach a checkpoint.
From here, jump across the beam whilst again avoiding the water. You
will have to be quick for the final beam in order to make it onto the platform
on the other side. On the platform you will confront another enemy. Take him
out and follow the arrow south across the beam and onto the platform. Head east
up the stairs and grab the checkpoint.
Head south and then east across the beams whilst avoiding the water
vents. At the end you will land on switch which will open a metal gate. You
will have to be quick to get there or the gate will close so hurry back the
way you came and quickly run through the gate to get a checkpoint.
Follow the arrow east across the platforms untill you reach some
stairs head south. Take these stairs down to a checkpoint.
Go east across the collapsing platforms. You want to get to the north
east platform where there is a checkpoint and a ladder so head there collecting
the orbs as you go.
Climb the ladder and you will reach the baths where you will trigger
some more dialogue. Approach your target and hit A to drown him. The guards
will arrive so quickly head east out of the baths. Once outside, continue east
past some more guards and up onto the rooftop and directed by the green arrow.
Continue east across the rooftops untill you reach the other side. Drop down
here and you will find Fajera and trigger another dialogue. You will learn a
new combo.
The Heavy Sting

A very powerful finishing move that works on opponents lying on the
ground, killing them instantly

Follow the arrow east to the marker and you will trigger some dialogue.
After the dialogue head back west. The arrow will direct you to a rope ladder.
Climb it by simply walking into it. At the top you will find a checkpoint.
Climb up onto the rooftop to your right and then drop down onto the
small red roof to your south with the marker on top of it. Continue east across
the red rooftops being careful to avoid the swinging rock. At the end you will
reach a checkpoint.
From here head south onto another rooftop where you will be attacked
by a guard. Kill him and then head east across the roof kill the guy in red
at the end. Head north from there across red roof collecting the orbs as you
go. At the end of the roof, use your wall to wall skill to climb on top of
the rooftop to your right by repeatedly pressing the B button. Grab the
checkpoint once you are on top.
Head east across the beam and drop down onto another checkpoint.
Jump onto the platform to your right and be careful as you will fall
off if you stand on it too long. Quickly grapple and jump onto the next
platform and from there, again be quick to get onto the beam south of you.
Follow the arrow across the beams untill you reach the checkpoint.
Here you will face three enemies. Run around the first two and kill
the guy with the crossbow. Then go on to deal with the other two. Once they
have been dealt with, head east across the beam and into the checkpoint.
Carry on east across the beams being careful of the swinging rocks.
At the end, use your grapple to swing and jump into the checkpoint.
Drop down into the sewers. After the short dialogue you will have to
head across the moving wooden platforms in the river, very much like 'Frogger'.
This shouldn't be too difficult as you can always load your checkpoint if you
fall into the water. The last moving platform is actually unneccessary. You
will not be able to make the jump from there onto the final platform with the
checkpoint on it. Instead, jump to it from the second to last moving platform.
Once you have reached the checkpoint, climb up the wall in front of
you and quickly run east in order to avoid the water vents. Climb onto the
small rooftop and jump onto the wooden beam to your right. From here,
continue to go east across the beams and grapple at the end to reach another
checkpoint.
Slide down the slope to trigger a short dialogue. Kill the two guards
who attack you and run south-west to the end of the rooftop. The roof to your
right will collapse. Slide down the collapse roof, avoid the swinging roof and
then head east up onto the other side to get a checkpoint.
Head North and climb up onto the rooftop in front of you. Drop down from
here onto the rootop below you to the right with the guard standing on it. Kill
him and drop down to ground level. Follow the arrow North-East into the
checkpoint and kill the guard who attacks you.
Continue to follow the arrow East into the marker to trigger another
dialogue. After the dialogue, continue East untill you reach a man with a
blue marker over his head. Approach him and press A to trigger the pickpocket
minigame. The best way I found to beat this was to drag the key over the top
of the two moving objects and out of the bag. This one may take a couple of
tries.
Once you have got the key, follow the arrow South-East and drop into
the well.
The Red Hospital 4-2 [ACGW3D2]
O--------------------O
You will find yourself back in the sewers. Head East by crouching (L-
Button) and rolling through the gap. Time you rolls to avoid the spikes. At
the end you will reach a checkpoint.
Here you will see some platforms above you that are repeatedly going
in and out of the wall. Wait for the bottom platform to come out and the run
up the east wall and jump from the wall onto the platform. From here, quickly
do the same by jumping onto the western wall and then onto the platform above
you. Do this once more, this time jumping onto the east wall, to reach the final
platform which will not move. From here jump up and onto the west wall to reach
a checkpoint.
Step onto the large switch to get rid of the spikes to your right. The
spikes will reappear once you step off the switch so wait for the water to stop
spraying from the vent and grab one of the crates on the other side. Drag it
onto the switch and then repeat with the second crate. From here, you can now
grapple and jump onto the Eastern platform where you will find a checkpoint.
Crouch and roll under the gap to your right. Wait for the platform to
move and then drop onto the platform below it. From there, quickly run onto the
platform to your left and then from there, head onto jump onto the long ledge.
Head south to trigger some dialogue. Kill the two guards who attack you and
jump onto the platform to your left. Time your jump to avoid the swinging axe
and land on the checkpoint on the next platform to your left.
Avoid another swinging axe and head south past the scorpions collecting
the orbs as you go. Kill the guard at the end and head east across the beams,
avoiding more swinging axes. Take care on the last jump as it is trickier than
the rest of them. Once you reach the other side, head North over the bridge
collecting the orbs as you go. You wil reach a checkpoint at the end.
Climb the rope whilst avoiding the spikes. Once at the top, wait for
vents to stop spraying water and climb onto the platform on the far left. From
here, jump across the crates towards your right where you will land on a
checkpoint.
Head across the northern beam which will break. You will fall to the
ground below where you must fight a couple of guards. Once they are down, you
will be attack by 2 more guards. One regular guard and another slightly stronger
guard. Mashing the Y button should take care of him. Wait for the fire to die
down and kill the guy directly east of you. From here, head south across the
tar and kill the guy at the end. Grab the crate and push it back north where
you killed the first guy with the crossbow. Push it onto the switch to get rid
of the fire east of you where you will get a checkpoint.
When the moving platform arrives, step onto it and hold L to crouch in
order to avoid the fire. After you have passed the fire, jump up onto the next
platform above you. At the end, climb onto the rope ladder and climb downwards.
Wait for the next platform to arrive and climb down onto it. Again you will need
to crouch to avoid the flame. At the end, drop down onto the platform with the
orbs on it and grab the checkpoint.
Jump onto the platform south of you and then continue south across the
beam to reach the next platform. Head east across another beam and quickly run
across the tar by tapping A. Kill the two cross-bow wielding enemies at the end
and the gate will open. Two guards will run out and attack you however I suggest
you avoid them and take care of the other two gurads who are shooting at you
with crossbows. Once they are down, kill the two guards in black and grab the
checkpoint in the centre of the room.
Climb up the ladder and quickly kill the guard in red. Then head south
and kill the other two guards. Grab the checkpoint.
You need to activate the switches below you. To do this you must push
crates into the four square-shaped pits. With each crate you push, a guard will
come through the northern door and attack you. The guards will only take one
hit to kill. Be careful to avoid the fire when pushing the crates to your right.
You would be better off pulling them towards you than actually pushing them.
Once you have activated all four switches you will be able to continue by
heading back down the ladder and east up the stairs where you will reach a
checkpoint.
Here you will be attacked by four guards plus a guy with a crossbow.
Instead of fighting off the guards, quickly head north and climb up onto the
platform where the red guard is standing where you will get a checkpoint.
Kill the guard in red. The other guards will likely climb up onto the
platform with you. I found that the easiest way to dispose of them was to mash
the Y button. Once they are down, head to the northern end of the platform and
jump east onto the beam. Continue east untill you reach the checkpoint being
careful to time your jumps as to avoid the spikes.
Head south and grab a torch. Here you can have a little fun by throwing
these torches down onto the tar which will set the guards alight. Drop down and
kill any guards that you may have missed. This will trigger the spikes to make
way for you. Head through the newly opened passage to grab a checkpoint.
Kill the guard and climb the rope ladder in the north-west corner of the
room. Kill the second guard up here and then head east and drop down onto
another rope ladder. Continue to climb east whilst avoiding the spikes. At the
end, climb up and jump onto the ledge behind you. Kill the guard and pull the
lever. From here, drop back down and kill the prisoner. He will take a lot of
hits but shouldn't be too difficult. Once he is finally down, head south-east
into the checkpoint.
Here you will slide down into a secret room. Kill the two guards and
press A on one of the coffins. This will trigger part of the cross to light up.
It may also trigger a guard to appear. If it does, kill him and then push 3
more coffins to completely fill the cross. Then run north into the checkpoint
directly below the cross.
The lift will take you up to the next floor. After the dialogue, kill
the guards and head to the south-east corner of the room onto the lift. Once
the lift stops, jump onto the wooden platform in front of you. From here, jump
across onto the platform to your east where you will meet your target. Simply
press A to kill him.
Drop down and talk to the prisoner to end the level. You will pick up
the dagger skill as well as a new combo:
The Battery

Button Combination: (Y)(Y)(X)
A combination of attacks that ends with a powerful kick in the face,
throwing the opponent to the ground.
