Beginner's Cup Finals flaw?

I have encountered a possible glitch in this game. I am over level 8 (the level needed to reach the Beginner's Cup) and defeated Dox to save Serenity, which is the other requirement. I leveled up to lv8 on completing this duel. However, even with both requirements (I am now lv9) Mokuba has flatly refused to appear to invite me to the Beginner's Cup, or whatever event lets you get there has not occurred. Why? Is Mokuba sore because I thrash him all the time, or is it a flaw in the game? It drives me nuts! Help me get to the Finals!

you first have to beat Para in a shdow duel at night to qualify for the beginners cup.

I'm not sure, it's probably a glitch. I've been there till I began closing and copying the save file elsewhere whenever I save. If you're using an emulator I suggest you do the same. Anyway it's advisable to duel a lot before any event.
