It means you've beaten all cups in all modes with a 1 star rating or better.

The star means that the person has a rank of 1 star or higher on every cup in every mode of the game. You can get these by doing your best in all the cups placing 1st, not falling off, and having fast times. Hope this helps!

If you beat all the cups with all 1 star rating, you will have 1 star next to your name on wi-fi. The same goes for when you have 2 star rating-you will have 2 stars next to your name on wi-fi, 3 star rating-3 stars on wi-fi next to your name.

I have one, yeah just get a 1-star rating in every grand prix race, including mirror, you get one star, 2 stars, you get 2, 3 you get three. Mission stars have no effect on wi-fi
