Bad Egg issue, traded for pokemon from Action Replay?

My 7 year old son traded for a pokemon from a friend, a Nuzleaf. The friend was using an Action Replay and when the trade was completed, instead of a Nuzleaf, my son received a "Bad Egg". Now he cannot remove it from his party, and cannot trade. The egg has not hatched after over 15,000 steps. He has all of his well earned pokemon from all of his DS and GBA versions on this save. Does anyone have any ideas?

Well, you definitely don't want to hatch the egg, since it will make the game freeze or mess it up further. It sounds like the egg has a capsule attached to it, which is why it can't be deposited. As far as getting rid of it, the only available option at this point would be to use an Action Replay code to replace the Bad Egg, placed in the first slot of the party, with a normal Pokemon so you could release it afterward.

Will the egg be deleted when replaced in slot 1?

Answer

It would replace the Pokemon, or egg in this case, with whatever Pokemon you have selected for the code, like a Magikarp, for example. So yeah, I guess it would be considered deleted, since it wouldn't be the egg anymore. Basically, I went and looked up whatever information I could about getting rid of a bad egg, and that was the only thing I could find that actually removed it based on what was said. There was an option to use a code to empty a box of its contents, but it wouldn't apply here since the egg can't be deposited for that to work. So any answers I have are just based on looking into this, not first-hand experience, unfortunately. I don't know if any of that helps or not.

Yes a replacement code works. Just make sure the egg is in slot 1 or 2 and another pokemon you don't want or need is in the other. Example: bad egg & a wild shinx.

My suggestion is to trade all the pokemon he wants to keep to one of his friend's games (not the one w/ the AR) for safekeeping & restart the game.

Not perfect, but AR can really screw up a game.

Answer

A replacement code should do the trick. Try to get your hands on a friend's action replay, instead of wasting money to buy one.
