I can do the spinning art with alot of trying, mainly it's the timing of pressing y and the last time forward. Anyone know if those 3 spins need to be chained together or if there can be a brief rest in between or any other way that could help me?
There is no need for them to be chained together. If you simply do it three times within the room, you will complete the quest.
