Asked on: 5/5 4:45AMHow do you get gifts to register as being of the birthday variety? Once I managed to get someone to react lik eit was their birthday, and it's never happened since. Does it only trigger with things they really like? Or is it a time of day thing?

statusI think you need to give the favorite item. You can find this information by looking in the walk-through by ketay (click on FAQs at the top of the page on this board). It's very close to the end of the guide. The marriageable girls are listed first, followed by the other villagers. I suggest you go to the bottom of ketay's guide and then move up just a bit. Anyway, whenever I give a favorite item as a birthday gift, the villager responds, "It's nice to get a <item_name> on your birthday!"
