What is the best strategy for growing tomatoes (or anything) in the summer?

I've restarted the game a few times just to try and grown tomatoes during the summer.

I keep the minimum water (3/2/2/2) and I've had no luck at all producing pickable produce... And this is with continuous days of Sunny to Hot.

What am I doing wrong?

If your Tomatoes are failing in harvest, they may be receiving too much sunlight or water. YOU CANNOT HELP HOW MUCH WATER OR SUN THEY RECEIVE! That is the weathers job. Jsut water them each day and hope for the best. Your not doing anything wrong at all, maybe you could try tilling in a different spot in the field, or simply try another crop.
