I am NEARLY finished with the game. I just need to escape in the last level of all. How do I do it?
P.S.: You could answer me, Michael. You beat the game, so how do I escape?

After you fired the torpedoes, RUN! Escape before you will get caught in the blast.

When you open the Red Barrier you shoot at all the tank like things and you need to find torpedos. After that you need to get out of that room becuz it will explode (YOU HAVE A TIMER FOR THIS) and then after that you will have a minigame where you go back the way you came in. YOu can't shoot ships in here so dodge them! Hope this helps!
