Asked on: 10/5 2:11PMFrom what I've read you keep everything from your previous playthrough but what exactly is everything?
You keep all your Chao, but get the option to collect more, and some more then once. You keep all your rings, but whatever rings you've collected in the overworld do not come back. You keep all your items, excluding quest items. When you encounter the characters though, they actually are all back to LV 1, excluding Sonic himself. However, (usually) you get the option to re-put up their stats, in a different order if you wish, and re-do all their POW moves. The only exception to this is when you encounter tails: you will immediately be forced into a battle with a LV 1 Tails, and a whatever LV Sonic and Amy. After the battle, you can LV him up though.

statusYou keep your Chao, items and rings, but you have to regain all characters. But when you get the characters, they will be at higher levels/the level they were when you completed the game.
Items, chao, rings (they don't give you new rings to collect, so get selling to make money now), levels and your abilities. too bad you can't use characters from the start
