The Sims 2

Review by Leon101

"SIMS 2 FOR THE DS! Yes!... but how will it compare to the pc one?"

The Sims 2, yeah I own that on pc and game-cube and now...DS oh yeah! And it is sweet. Anyway on to the review.

Graphics- 7/10- They are pretty good, I mean they are 3-D this time, unlike The Urbz for DS which was in 2-D. Still they can be blocky when looked at, but overall everything has a nice look especially the objects.

Sound- 7/10- Well, the sound isn't that great, it's good but not great. There are a few catchy tunes here and there but mostly just average. Hey though you could always turn down the sound *wink*.

Customize- 10/10- Yes this time they got it right for the hand held. In the previous The Sims games for hand held all you could do was change the color of the clothes and change the hair style or so. This time however, you can change the face, the clothes (and not just colors either) the pants the shoes, the style of the clothes and even have hats. As far as it goes for a hand held game, the options here are fantastic.

Game-play- 8/10- The game play is pretty good in this one, while it's not like the original Sims games for the GBA and DS, it is pretty good. The town is really small but there is plenty to do I assure you. There are lot's of objects to collect and decorate or use for your sanity meter (sanity meter? you say, just one sec) and bunches more including errands for other Sims and main missions which are cool. This time the TIME runs in real-time, no more fake Sims time this is cool as it is bad, for you see it takes 8 real hours for rooms in your hotel to be built which means waiting awhile to get through the game, but on the other hand. Stores never close so time is not of the essence. Overall the time factor is good. Now about the whole sanity meter, you see most motives were taking out except for: Hunger, Thirst (a new one), bladder, sleep, and hygiene. So when one of these five needs goes down all the way, a thought bubble will tell you right above your Sims head, then your sanity meter will start to go down, so you need to hurry and fulfill this need then your sanity meter will stop depleting. Once that is done you can use various objects to bring it back up. Now the social in this game is a little weird at first, but you get used to it. Basically you start talking to someone (in different ways) then you have to wait for them to do a animation (like bringing there hand in the air for a hi-five) then you have to quickly press from three buttons on the bottom and get it right, they your relationship will rise and their sanity meter will drop, but if you do it wrong, it has the opposite effects. So chat correctly. That is about it.

Overall it's not anything like the superb PC version, but it is great and fun to play none the less. So give it a try in someway, or even better...BUY IT!
