Electroplankton
Review by DaWhiteMage
"Being under the sea has never been so fun!"
You may think this peculiar game called Electroplankton is just a tech demo. Well, your right and wrong. It may have the qualities of a tech demo, but it also has some innovative and new features that makes it a whole!
Graphics: 9/10
These are very different and new. Something you've never seen if you haven't looked at things under a microscope. They may be simple, but offer a lot of things for all to enjoy. Welcoming colors and happy faces make it a very light hearted game.
Sound: 10/10
In a game all about making music, sound is a must. Electroplankton offers a variety of sounds as well as peculiar music. Some of this music may sound familiar to casual Nintendo players and also hard-core Nintendo fans. Some of these noises may sound weird, but it is oddly compelling. The opportunity to use your own voice to make sounds and music is also a plus. Young gamers will love hearing their own voice in the music, as well as some older gamers too! If you like music, this might be your game.
Gameplay: 7/10
Electroplankton has very different things to offer. The idea of touching little underwater plankton is something not imagined by human minds until this game. I know, it may sound absurd. But its actually quite fun! Touching little things and making them move about and make little sounds will get the even the cold hearted gamers out there to giggle with joy. Young and old alike can enjoy the idea of smiley faces making music.
Appealing Qualities:
Many ages will think making music is fun! Why, when you were a young child, didn't you enjoy the idea of, say Barney, dancing and singing happily with a great big smile? Admit it, you did. This is like that. Smiling minuscule plankton making little noises is like that. The fact you can make your own music with your voice is also quite nice. Recording something, then playing it at 2 times the speed or backwards is something different. It also brings opportunity to make your own backwards messages. *laughs*
Bottom Line:
This is a game for all music fans. Its a pick up and play game. No skill required! Show your younger child their first piece of music in a kind, friendly way. Soon, they'll be making their own music in the game, and then in real life! You adults can also enjoy making music. Its very relaxing and calms the mind. Especially if your no good at singing or playing instruments in real life. Its a love it or hate it game. Pick it up if your interested in making your own symphony.
