Yu-Gi-Oh! Nightmare Troubadour

Review by WingedSage

"If you like the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG then you are going to LOVE this game!"

If you are a Yu-Gi-Oh! fan like me then this game is a must for your DS collection.

GAMEPLAY: 10/10
This game supports the official Yu-Gi-Oh-! TCG rules so if you are a Yu-Gi-Oh! veteran you already know how to play it (for the most part). The gameplay of this game is excellent. You have your monster, magic(spells) and trap cards. Both you and your opponents start off with 8000 life points your goal is to drop your opponents life points completely before he does. The AI in this game is a little more aggressive than usual but it still makes the same annoying mistakes that make the duels a bit more easier. One cool feature that this game has is that it has over 1000 cards to choose from. This allows the player to have endless possibilities for creating a deck. But the problem is that a lot of important cards are missing. Example: I tried to put together a Gravekeeper deck but guess what there were only two of them. Whats up with that? I'm a lazy guy so I love that you can use your stylus for everything in this game.

STORY: 3/10
Not much to say here. It has very little to do with the actual anime. It seems someone has hacked into Kaiba Corps Computer System then you get your own starter deck and start dueling people in mediocre duels that are going to whoop yor ass. Until you get better cards.

GRAPHICS: 6/10
What I hate about this game is the monster cards animation. Some of them come with some sort of mini intro. But they get old and on your nerves pretty fast. This graphics are an embarrassment to the DS capabilities.

SOUNDS: 7/10
Everything from card drawing to summoning monsters the sounds are excellent but when it comes to music this game is a let down. Whenever Im playing it I always turn down the volume because its shameful.

PLAY TIME: 10/10
It will probably take you at least a week to complete the story mode but if you are trying to get every card in the game it will take you at least a few months without using cheat codes. You have a long summer ahead of you.

REPLAYABILITY: 10/10
You'll never stop playing this game. Yes it is that addictive! Especially if you got a friend to play multiplayer with.

FINAL RECOMMENDATION:
If you like Yu-Gi-Oh! you should definitely buy it. But if you are new to the game then I suggest you rent it before buying either way you will not be disappointed.

FINAL SCORE: 8/10
