Bomberman Land Touch!

Review by Mykas0

"Play it on Wi-fi, and forget about all the other modes."

There's a single point in this game, and it seems to be the ability to play bomberman online with other people, using the Wi-fi features of this game. Apart from this single detail, the game indeed contains some interesting features, but at the end it turns out being nothing special.

First, the game contains a small RPG-like mode, where you need to find 100 cards, split into 4 different colors. Such acquisition is done by completing some of the 36 mini-games available in this mode, or talking to certain characters while having certain stuff equipped. Seems logical, as this kind of things happens in most games of this type, right? Well, it isn't. Mostly, the game puts you to wander around 5 small different areas, where you should simply roam aimlessly while. No, your problem will not be the language, but bad way that this mode was designed: you're hardly ever told what you need to do next or where you need to go, so you'll find yourself simply hanging around, most of the times.

Therefore, the mode will have a big play time, not because of it being difficult but since you'll never know what to do next, or where to find a specific item, or what you need to equip in order to successfully achieve an important answer from a certain character.

Oh, and I gotta state that none of those mini-games are related to the bomberman series, they seem to be randomly created stuff in which the characters from the game were inserted. Not even the pseudo story created for this mode is interesting in any way, and it turns out not being appealing to anybody.

Then, there are 2 other modes. One, enables you to play previously completed mini-games, the ones you may have faced in the RPG mode. Other, allows you to play the classical version of Bomberman, with lots of small tune-ups to chose from and battling with up to 8 characters, either if it is offline, by wi-fi or against other people who have the game and are placed near you.

The graphics are not perfect, personally I think that they resemble the ones of the final bomberman games for the SNES console, with nothing special added. When it comes to sound, it is just plain boring and annoying, you'll probably turn it off after a while.

So, who should get this game? Well, only hardcore Bomberman fans who have a wi-fi connection available should go for this game.
