Pokemon Dash

Review by FunPika

"Enjoy using Pikachu ALL the time..."

Introduction: Don't get me wrong. I like Pikachus but the lack of choice of character in this game doesn't exactly do wonders. Sure there are quite a few races, multiplayer, and the GBA Pokemon RPGs to Pokemon Dash linkup, but it is flawed. I really wish I could choose other Pokemon such as Totodile, Squirtle, Meowth, etc. The races are pretty good though.

Gameplay: 8/10: In Pokemon Dash, you basically use the Stylus to lead Pikachu to victory in a race. Your opponents are all different Pokemon that you probably wish you could control. There are all sorts of terrains that you must get through to reach the checkpoints and finally the goal. Balloons, special pads, etc. will help you navigate these terrains. The controls are pretty easy in the game. So I give gameplay an 8.

Graphics: 6/10 The graphics in this game aren't pretty good in my opinion. Pikachu looks better in the RPGs than he does in this game. Same goes to other Pokemon such as Torchic and Meowth. They just don't look that good to me. When they are being shown on the top screen they are fine though which saved the Graphics. I give graphics a 6.

Sound: 5/10: The sound is okay. But it gets annoying after a bit (such as the main menu music). And Pikachu and the sound effects on the main titles aren't really that good. I can usually tolerate the racing music and the winning music. I give the Sound in this game a 5.

Playtime/Replay Value: 3/10: Okay, this category really isn't that good. You can probably beat this game within 20 hours. If you just want to beat the easy mode and get the GBA RPG linkup it takes little more than 5 hours. I haven't played this game for months until now to write this review. The replay value basically isn't that good either. There isn't really a good reason to play after easy mode in my opinion.

Buy or Rent: RENT: I say rent because there is little replay value and no real reason to play after beating Easy Mode. If you rent you can easily enjoy this game.

Overall/Concluding Statements:
Gameplay: 8/10
Graphics: 6/10
Sound: 5/10
Playtime/Replay Value: 3/10
Buy or Rent: RENT
Overall: 6/10

This game might be good for kids aged 5-10, but boring for teenagers. So you should probably just rent this.
