SBK: Snowboard Kids

Review by snowboarder9

"The Snowboard Kids are back, this time it's on portable!"

You remember snowboard kids on the N64? Of course you do, those cute little kids with their snowboards riding the...well the snow. These kids are back; teenage style in this great sequel to the snowboard kids two.

Graphics:

The graphics are excellent and beautiful. It really makes you go into the game. It's flawless. The graphics may be the best thing about the game in my opinion. The graphics don't exactly interact with the name of the snowboard track in my opinion, but it is great, nonetheless.

Music/Sound Effects:

The music is great and really catchy. When I first started playing, the music caught my eyes, and tried to save some of them in my mind. It really makes you love the game. The sound effects aren't as great even though I wish it were. Didn't like it so much, so I focused while playing mostly on the music rather than the sound effects.

Game play:

The game play is normal and kind of easy to learn. This version features new special tricks for each character after jumping of a big ramp. You just grab the stylus and you'll find how many taps you have to make on the touch screen to make the trick successful. Even though, you have to be fast, even if you made the trick successful, if you do it late, you may hit the ground and the points of the special trick won't be recorded. Unfortunately, Damien isn't included in this game, but they replaced him with another unlockable character.

Storyline:

Surprisingly enough, this version actually has more than one storyline. There are different storylines and endings (after you finish the championship) for each character.

Replay Value:

The replayability of this game is high. There's a lot of unlockables which is great if you ask me, Also, for each character, there are three classes, Class C, Class B, and Class A. And of course, you can upgrade the boards when you have enough points. Also, there are more characters to be unlocked too. I only gave this a nine is because of the replay value. This is how high it is.

Overall:

This game is great. It would have been better if there were better sound effects. I would highly recommend you to buy this game if you liked Snowboard Kids one or two or you like games made by Racdym. If it will be your first racing-related game, then maybe you would rent it or buy it; it's your choice anyway.
