Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan

Review by Flame060

"I need to write a review? OUENDAAAAAN!"

Now a trio of dancers shall show up from out of nowwhere and lend me a hand by dancing for me. And if you havn't yet guessed, that is the permise of this game. You simply keep the beat in order to help out someing in need. Of course, there is probably a LOT more to the story, but I cannot read japanese, and at the time of writing this, the english version has not come out yet. So please think of this review as the game in it's simplest form.

If you were thinking of importing, by all means do, the menus are not hard to figure out, and the small storylines for each chapter are quite easy to fuigure out as the manga-style scenes show the characters emotions quite boldy and vividly. From what I make out, there are people in trouble and it's up to you to help them out, by oddly enough dancing. I guess it's somehow motivation to do homework, work harder or be able to throw a ball and win a girl over.

If you didn't know already, it's a music genre of a game. J-pop, J-Rock, J-whatever, it's great, it's enjoyable, and it's fun. The game is played by tapping small numbers on the touch screen to keep with the beat in order to keep a health bar alive at the top of the bottom screen. This health is constantly going down, and the more accurate you are, the more you gain back. Meanwhile the story is progressed on the top screen. THat part can be sort of distracting as you will wanna know what's going on, but it's ever anything important. For the songs story to actually take a leap forward, it will take a small break from the gameplay to see if you pass or not.

It's quite an addictive gameplay, and a game well worth it's price. It's one of the games out there that your whole family would enjoy playing. I highly reccomend the purchace of it. The only downside is, you wish it would last longer. The upside is, the english release is supposed to have added songs. I may have to pick that version up along with my Japanese version.
