Yoshi's Island DS
Review by YerFired
"Short, but awesome. Need I say more?"
Presenting Yoshi's Island DS. A game with all the glamour of the old one, and twice the baby fun! However, it lacks the old six worlds replacing it with five. Oh well. You have most of the fun.
Gameplay
Awesome. At first sight, you see an easy defeat-the-level-to-progress type game. But as you go on, you see that the game delves into many different challenges. Also, there are now more babies to r ely on- Baby Peach and Baby DK are a few. Each has its own unique ability that replies to a different situation. Sometimes, you have to go out of your way to get a good score. To sum it up, you won't go wrong with the gameplay.
Sound
This is the single thing that could have been better. The original sound was more fitting, although admittedly the battle with Bowser has uber music. The music just lacked sense. For example, the miniboss music. The original had a fun little jumpy tune, while this one doesn't really go with the 'miniboss' concept.
Graphics
Vastly improved from the original. Kamek and Bowser, and all the enemies for that matter, seem to be more realistic. Graphics are a key factor in the game, and things just turned out better here. When Kamek sprinkles his magic dust, the transformation seems real. You all get the picture.
Replay Value
Um, it's a Yoshi's Island game. After you beat the game, you can go back and attempt to get a perfect 100 on each level, collect all the special Character Coins, rework strategies, and just go back to have fun killing off bosses. You know you want to.
Conclusion
This game in general is awesome. I would have given it the 10/10 awesome score, but you need the sound and the extra challenges that aren't here. Not that it ruins the fun. No, not with extra babies, new bosses and enemies, and a cool Time Trial mode. From killing bosses to racing around scrolling levels, Yoshi's in for the time of his life.
