Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors 2

Review by Trex

"This is the sequel to one of the best DBZ games for the GBA. How does it stack up?"

Introduction-This is Dragon Ball Z:Supersonic Warriors 2 for the Nintendo DS ,and is a sequel to Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors for the Game Boy Advance. However if you have not played the one on the GBA, it will not affect your enjoyment of this DS sequel. Although I am a fan of the DBZ anime and manga, I will try to make this review as unbiased as possible for those of you who want to try this game and have not necessarily seen the show.

Control-It is extremely simple. None of the attacks are hard to pull off. It is easy to learn , and the game has a tutorial mode to help. The control easily gets a ten out of ten.

Graphics-The graphics are pretty good ,but I would define them as high GBA quality graphics. However the characters and their animations look great. The stages look fine. Therefore I give the graphics an 8 out of 10.

Sound/Music- The music in this game is decent ,but it is nothing you will remember for days to come. Each stage does have its own track though. The sound is great though. The sound of ki blasts and other kinds of physical combat sound great. I give the music a 7 out of 10 , and I give the sound a 9 out of 10.

Life Span- This story mode itself is not very long ,but the fights are pretty addictive. There is much replay value in this game throughout the epic battles of the game. There are several modes on this game as well such as Story mode and Z battles. I give the life span an 8 out of 10.

Difficulty-This game is not very hard. It is not easy however. Although this game could be a little harder, it is not easy. I think if this game was a bit harder however it would last a little longer. Therefore I give the difficulty a seven out of ten.

Gameplay-The gameplay definitely lives to expectation. The control is easy. The fights are awesome with your arsenal of ki blasts and special attacks as well as the physical combat such as punching, kicking, and your grabbing attacks. Although the combat seems linear, it is a blast. You can set up a perfect combo of punches and blasts. I give this gameplay a ten out of ten because the fights are all just such a blast!

Overall- This game is a must-have for any DBZ fan ,and is really an enjoyable fighter for those of you who do not like the show or have not seen it. Therefore I give this game a nine out of ten because this game does have a few problems. However there are not enough problems to be an enjoyable fighting game for all.
