Kirby Squeak Squad
Review by BoosGhost
"My First DS Game...And It Sucks You In!"
I loved this game! It was the first DS game I got, along with a DS, for Christmas, and I was playing it until my DS ran out of battery! I charged the batteries this morning, and played it again! This game is extremely addictive, and is hard to get your eyes off of. It's completely new, and it has fresh ideas in store for you.
Story-10/10
When I read the story, I nearly went to the bathroom...in my pants! It all started when Kirby was about to eat a delicious piece of cake for snack time, when all of a sudden, something zooms past, snatching the pastry right in front of Kirby's eyes! Kirby, thinking it was the work of King De-De-De, decided to investigate, and set out on a journey to retrieve the unfinished delicacy. The story is new, funny, and I just loved it.
Game-play-10/10
Like other Kirby games, this game also has levels, yet it has different levels and a different level selection screen. All you have to do is get into the level, knock down a few enemies, advance through the doors, and get to the finish door, which has a huge star on it. At the end, you will be randomly shot out of a cannon towards either an item or nothing, and will then collect what's inside the treasure chests. Complete all levels in a world, and you will then face the boss of the world, and if the boss is defeated, you continue to the next world. It's so simple, and so fun to do!
Graphics-10/10
The graphics are just as good as all the other Kirby games. The Kirby hasn't changed in looks, and neither have the enemies. Not only that, but there are also new enemies, who also look perfect. The backgrounds are very nicely done, and the copy abilities, bubbles, and other objects are very detailed. The graphics may be similar, but the new items are just awesome!
Control-10/10
The control is simple and easy to use. The control stick us used to move, the A button is used to jump, and the B button is used to suck up enemies. The touch screen is your stomach, and by using the stylus, you can use one of the abilities stored. This game has some unique twists to it, and is a new experience, which is what I like to see.
Sound-10/10
The sound is great in this game. When using an ability, such as Fire or Beam, the sound suits the move being used. The 1-Up sound is the same, and the music heard really gets you into the mood. The Boss music is rowdy, and makes you want to fight to the best of your ability. The sound is not only catchy, but it helps you get through the game.
Difficulty-10/10
Like all other Kirby games, this game is new, and is challenging to any player. There are several levels, unique bosses, and someone is always guarding the final chest. You also have to get 100% in the entire game, which is extremely hard to do on your first try. Kirby Squeak Squad is a difficult game, and is great for people of all ages.
Re-playability-8/10
The re-playability may not be perfect, but it still gets a decent score. It is still hard to get 100%, and the bosses are still just as hard. However, the player may now know where all the chests are, and knows all the techniques needed to beat an enemy or a boss. It's still good, though, because 100% is hard to get, and surviving is just as hard.
Overall-10/10
This game barely slips past the 9, and gets a 10 from me. Kirby Squeak Squad is a new, yet fun game that always makes you want to play it more. I am currently still playing this game as I type, and I will make this short. This game blows you away!
Rent Or Buy?
I highly encourage you to buy this game. Kirby Squeak Squad is new, and is definitely worth the money. If you aren't a Kirby fan, buy it anyways, because you're mind may be changed around a little.
