Kirby Squeak Squad
Review by ninjamanuever
"Kirby's back, and although it's watered down, it's still great!"
O.K., this game was way over hyped on my part. I had expected a much more thorough copy mixing scheme, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it. For those of you who didn't know, there are only 5 mixes, and the rest are random, however there are some rare copies tucked here and there that make up for the loss. I'm not giving anything away, so let's jump into the review.
Game Play (8/10)
This game was almost perfect in this area. It sticks to Kirby's routes, but added some other goodies. The only problem I had was that there was no perfect puzzle. They were all either too easy or too difficult. Nintendo couldn't get it just right.
Story (5/10)
There was none, but the fact that Kirby desperately wants his cake sort of delves into his personality and tells you what he's like.
Audio (10/10)
It was beautiful, but not as good as CC. The sounds were nicely ungraded and really go with things. I especially liked the ominous sound the ghosts make. Oh, if you're wondering, I would have given CC (11/10) because it really went beyond the limit, but that's beside the point.
Graphics (9/10)
It was good for a Kirby game, as Kirby has always been known for housing childish graphics. Once again, CC went beyond. I have no idea why they downed the graphics, but I honestly don't mind.
Replay (7/10)
If by replay, you mean each and every level, then this game had it good. All the levels could get 100% in only a few rounds, but the Ghost ability makes it worth it to go back through the levels for its... special properties.
Mini-Games (10/10)
There was something for everybody. A game of reflex, a game of accuracy, and a game of speed. They will satisfy for mini-game needs.
So there you have it. If I were to suggest rent or buy, I would say rent as you will complete it easy and return it.
