The Sims 2: Pets

"Not Worth Sniffing"
The cover of the game sure looked inviting. T hat was the worst $30 I've ever spent! I fell in love with The Sims 2 for the DS platform so I figured the next game would be even better. I thought it would be thrilling and have a plot to it! Aside from the graphics, these Sims games gradually downgrade- they just don't put in the effort. So, I present to you the second submission I have created.
Graphics 9/10- As honest as I am the graphics are incredible! They help me pick up the game and play it. This will be the only positive note I plot down, but they are amazing for a portable platform. The hair has such texture, and looks very realistic. The people and animals have the correct movements, and aren't so boxy. I give a big thumbs-up to that!
Gameplay 3/10- Sorry to say this, but it sucks! Let me start with the basics. You can't control your Sims with the--this thing +! The control pad. You can do that on the Sims 2 and Urbz, but not on this game. You tap the shower, and they do all the work. I hope in the next game, which will probably be Bustin' Out, won't do that. Well anyhoo, the game is too repetitive. It is the same thing the whole time. Either you treat the pet for fleas, worms, broken bones, lodged items, feed it, or bathe it. That will last about 3 days before you're bored of the game. And as for patients, there is a limit for holding pets-guess what that is? Two. That's right, two. So if I have four patients arrive at the same day, I have to decide for whatever amount I can. And the game itself is just far too simple. Teaching them tricks is very fast- you think teaching 7 tricks will last for some time , but it doesn't. It will only take about 3 minutes. You might as well save your energy because the park (which you can walk your pet to) has everthing there is at home. There's a bench, and a little play area. That's all there is to do with this game. They could've added some mini-games or anything like that. There isn't enough to this game. The Create-a-Sim was dissapointing. There was not layout to clothing styles-all you did was tap the pattern and it would choose at complete ramdom. It took me 5 minutes to get the leopard design. The was a lot less to the create-a-sim. On the flipside, I was pretty impressed with the animal creations. The only other Sims pet game I've played is Unleashed, and those are pre-made with only about 3-4 breeds. These breeds have names, like beagle or Siamese, and there are 6-8 to select from. You can choose their head size, tail size, etc., and even what there parents looked like. They can also be fat if you wish.
Sound 2/10
What happened?! There's only two songs the whole game! The intro, and the gameplay song. The crew put no effort into the song. It is annoying, and too repetitve! On the Sims 2, the selection of music was impressive. On this game it is just a joke! I don't know if they're short on ideas, but man they bombed that area! You know what I mean. I've never seen games downgrade like that!
If you want a good game, this would definately NOT be the one. I'll tell you a good game-Nintendogs. That's right don't get this cheap imitation. But, if you are itching to play it, buy it used or better yet rent it. It's totally up to you.
