Review by DarthWindow

"Bet 'er up. Bet 'er then any average poker game. (Ha Ha pun)"

This is my review for the DS game, World Championship Poker. I have given it a seven, but notice that a seven is GOOD for a $10 poker game for the DS. With all the poker game out there, most of them probably as good as a 3, 7 is good. Just not the best.

Price:

8/10

$10 will buy you that dvd you sort of wanted from a year or two ago. Or it good buy you a pretty good poker game. The price isn't expensive, and $10 pretty much fits this game.

Controls

5/10

Pretty basic controls. Not the best I have seen with controls, and I have played puzzle games. It uses the touch screen well. Simple nevertheless. It's just the average controls, yet not hard to master. Not hard at all.

Game Modes

8/10

Nice amounts of game modes, with not just one form of poker. It has Texas Hold 'Em, like it should, and Pineapple, Seven Card Stud, Baseball, Double Flop, Omaha Hold 'Em, Omaha Hi-Lo, Seven Card Hi-Lo, Five Card Draw, Black Jack, and my favorite of them all, my money-maker, Deuces Wild! The minigames are always fun.

Multiplayer

8/10

Fun to play on multiplayer mode. It's nearly just as good as player poker in real life, but easier and quicker to manage. Almost a good substitute. Almost Still, you grab some friends and play the poker games of your choice. What more is there to say?

Career

7/10

Sure, it's just playing random tournaments. But there is are things more in there then just random tournaments and poker games. There is the ability to grab some cool WCP gear, raise your character's rank, unlocking other casinos, and playing minigames. What more can someone ask for? For it to be more realistic, more harder, and not allowing to bet all the money you can in a simple game, turn off the game if you get a bad hand, turn it on again, and play again. They should count games you quit in the middle of them as a loss and lose all the money you bet just then. Just the possibility of this being able to happen lowers the fun and score for this mode. Still good though. Just some minor and almost-major flaws.

Replaying

7/10

Replaying the poker games can be fun, but you win to easily. Even though they may be boring after awhile, and table after table can tire you, replaying isn't all that bad.

Overall Score: 7/10 Great Game

Not a bad game, far from it actually, and a good game for the DS. The price is cheap ($10) and the quality of the game is good. Probably the best poker game you could get for the DS, and the DS has a fine amount of poker games!
