Spectrobes

"Could've been better..."

If disney just went the extra mile they could've had something good, great even, But sadly spectrobes seems to be made of little problems that the creators probably overlooked and just said "oh it's no big deal if the sprites are a little too small" and "it doesn't matter if a few parts in the background of the landscape is 2D" which is fine once or twice but when the whole game is like that you can't help but think "why didn't you fix that?!" it's not a bad game though, in fact the graphics are fairly good and the gameplay is pretty fun, although the programing is VERY sloppy which is this games worst point, the battle system is repetitive, bad graphic and it doesn't flow like oh say, pokemon's, if they just had better programing this game would be amazing, they had the good ideas they just executed them poorly (well, some of them)

Graphics: 6.8/10

If they took out the 2D things in the landscape and made them 3D, made the sprites a bit bigger and cleaned up everything a little more the graphics would have been 10/10, but they didn't

Sound: 7/10

Sometimes the music is good, sometimes it's bad but overall it's always pretty good, if not a bit intense, example: When you give a man named Aldous a "cube" the music gets all serious but nothing bad or intense is happening.

Gameplay: 6/10

The gameplay is hard to say, it's fun collecting and excavating spectrobes minerals and cubes(the excavating was the one thing in the game that lived up to my expectations, and that's saying something!) but the battles are sloppy, repetitive and not that fun so excavating and building your spectrobes up with minerals is fun, but if it's not fun to use them when they are older in battle it seems sort of pointless to do all that work with no reward...

Story: 7/10

the story is pretty good but it's missing something to make it less cliché.

Overall I give spectrobes a 7/10, sorry Disney, shoulda went the extra mile...
