Yu-Gi-Oh! GX: Spirit Caller
Review by Crazymaori
"A-double-eee-some!! (Awesome)"
This game is awesome! Quite alot of the newest cards released (Cyber Dragons!!) and most of the storylines main characters from the anime. The main reason why I bought this was because I had previously owned Nightmare Troubadour and tried this out. It had to be worth $70 NZ dollars, and believe me, it is!
AI?
The Ai is one of the best in-game competitors I have played against. Good combos made by them, along with some superb moves that I have had to counter.
Difficulty?
No, this isnt one of those games that anyone who has never played can clock in the one night. This is one of the hardest games that I have played, with storyline characters being some of the hardest I have played since Noah in Nightmare Troubadour. With 10+ Five star duelists to defeat before you can finish the game, it is difficult and worth it.
Graphics?
They are excellent when you have your cursor over the monster, and a few of the monsters have "Dramatic Entrances" when they have their own little cutscene when they are summoned. But besides that, they are pretty mediocre in duel. Outside of the duel they are alright, not the best, but not the worst.
Gameplay?
This is excellent. Addictive, makes you work for levels, and having fun all in one? What else can I say? Its awesome. The puzzles are hard, even some of the beginner puzzles I struggled with, but I overcame them.
Up to date Ban list, Limited list, and Semi-limited list to work around makes the game that much harder and enjoyable to play.
This game, unlike Nightmare Troubadour, now keeps track of what day it is, and like Nightmare Troubadour, it still has the Day/Night feature. Now on Monday through to Friday, you will have to go to "School" (But you dont learn anything) except Mondays, where you have to sit a examination, based on actual Yu-Gi-Oh! cards and effects. Then there is the weekends, relax, duel, and best of all, no school!!
Overall, it is a very good game and worth however much you have to pay for it.
A final word: Good on ya Konami, for making such an excellent game!
