Introduction

I'm a big fan of bomberman games. I have a few for my super nintendo and I thought it would be nice to have one for my DS. I was actually pretty disappointed when I got this game for the fact that they took away some things that I enjoyed in the old bomberman games.

Single Player - 4/10

Now this was not how i expected it at all. I thought it would be just like the multiplayer, where your a stubby little bomberman that tries to blow up the enemy. Actually, it isnt even the least bit like that. You play as a "pirate" bomberman named Cheerful White. All there is to the multiplayer is that you walk around, talk to NPCs, and play attractions/minigames. As you play the attractions, you unlock them and you get to play them in attraction mode. I found this extremely boring, and I diddn't even bother playing it.

Multiplayer - 9/10

Now this is pretty much the only reason I kept this game. The multiplayer is the classic bomberman, where you blow up blocks, collect items, and blow your enemies up. I especially liked the fact that there can be up to 8 players (human/cpu) and that you can play up to 7 other friends on 1 DS card. There are also a few new features, such as revenge, where you can get a second chance and try to kill your enemies even when your dead. Also, there is a large variety of stages to play in. There is more than a dozen stages to play in, making this multiplayer mode a true bomberman fan's dream.

Sound - 6/10

Ok, this part was the first thing I noticed about this game. You may think differently about the music, but I thought it was TERRIBLE. I thought my ears were going to bleed, and I just couldn't stand it. I really enjoyed the music in the older Bomberman games, but I don't know why they even ALLOW this music to be in the game!! It really go to me, and it was hard to get used to. Later on, I got a little used to it, and grew to like it a tiny bit more. Still, there is A LOT of space for improvement here!

Graphics - 8/10

I could get used to this. It was quite an improvement from the other Bomberman games. It is a little more colorful, and the "bombermen" changed for the better. I dont have much to say for this. All I could say is that it certainly improved, and they did a good job with it :)

Replayability - 8/10

It won't take you long to get bored of it if you play alone. However, if you have 2 or more friends to play this with, it will certainly keep you entertained for a long time.

Overall 7/10

I sort of regretted buying this game at first, but playing it with other people certainly made me think twice. This game has tons of new features, but the sound and single player really disappointed me. Just to let you know, you really shouldn't buy this game unless you have friends to share it with. That will really make it worth the money.
