"Nice game, but..."

--Introduction--

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue is a fun game - up to a point. After the main storyline, there really is no point in playing the game except for recruiting the legendary pokemon, and half of them have a low recruitment rate. So read on if you want to be hit with criticizism and a little emotions speech.

Just having to criticize a Pokemon game is like having my heart ripped out, but somebody has to do it. Read on...if you dare.

--Overall Graphics 5/10--

---Pokemon Graphics 2/5---

Now, some of you might wonder why I gave the graphics a 4 out of 10, and that is bacause, personally, I thought the graphics were good overrall,
but some of the pokemon's body parts were just out of proportion, specifically Jigglypuff's tuft of hair that just seemed to hang down from its head unnaturally. But for the rest, every thing turned out okay. Espacially for the moves, although the might be basic graphics, complication isn't always the best way to go.

---Dungeon/Field Graphics 3/5---

The dungeon graphics were also great and fabulous, but the game designers could've added more detail to items and the dungeon floors. Like putting an "M" on Max Elixir bottles, making Grimy Food look like food, not a rock, and making the berries look like they do on Emerald. The designers also did a great job with Pokemon Square, and allthose maps that they composed (World/Friend Areas). Oh, the Friend Areas are also graphically great, but they could use alittle bit more detail.

--Pizzazz 0/10--

By pizzazz, I mean different things happening all the time, and that was what lacked in this game. The same thing happening every day is just Snoresville - You wake up, go on missions, come back, sleep - over and over!! It just bores me to death.

They can at least add some weather to the square, that would give this category at least a point or two for unpredictability.

--Overall Difficulty 6/10--

---Difficulty During Storyline 3/3---

I gave this category a 5 out of 10 because during the main storyline, this game's not too easy nor too hard - with the right staters. Also, Tiny Woods is a little bit too easy.

---Difficulty After Storyline -1/3---

After the main storyline, the game gets hard. With Wish Cave, Purity Forest, and Joyous Tower wiping me out before the 15th Floor, you can see why its a 9 out of 10. Some other tough dungeons include Silver Trench, Meteor Cave, Buried Relic, Northern Range, and Pitfall Valley.

--Sound 10/10--

To me, the sound is the best feature the game has to offer, even though the songs loop at short intervals, I've grown used to game songs looping forever. I could listen to the tunes all day if you ask me.

--Originality 10/10--

This is what stands out for me, those producers, designers, and programmers really went and twisted and experimented with the world of pokemon, but I'd say this attempt ended in failure.

--Item Variety 7/10--

There are a ton of different items in this game that the GBA games don't have, but the item distribution is like the game wants all the items for itself, I mean the only item that you're guaranteed to find in every dungeon is Poke - Zzzzz.... - but if you're lucky, you could find a very rare item such as a Tight Belt. Also, there are items put there just to irritate you like Plain Ribbons, Gold Ribbons, Plain Seeds, etc. What's up with those??

--Pokemon Distribution 7/10--

Even though all 386 pokemon may be found on this game, the distribution is quite surprising, actually. At any given time, there are usually four to five different species of pokemon on a particular floor giving it an opinionated seven.

--Conclusion--

Having to criticize a Pokemon game is almost unbearable to this Pokefan and self-proclaimed Pokemaniac, but I have to get this news out to some one...right?

PMD: Blue Rescue Team was a bold, new step away from those trainers in dashing uniforms, and proved that Pokemon weren't just there to be caught and trained, but also to be let free to roam in their own world. Just for their exploration into unknown territory, I gave the game the score I gave it - an okay 6/10.

But the staff could've done better job at this game for all those millions of saddened pokefans and self-proclaimed pokemaniacs out there in the giant globe of Earth (Sorry for the speech).

So weather you take these points to heart, or just rudely ignore them, I fell glad that you choose to read my first review ever. Also, if you search around there aught to be positive reviews of this game lying around the site, so search on!!
