Mr. Driller Drill Spirits
Review by JF7X
"Same thing except for some minor detail."
What do you do when all the drills in the world have gone on vacation? You call a guy in a pick suit and helmet called Mr. Driller and drill drill drill. Seriously I think all the games in this series is the same. I mean like identical except for this one. Example the Wonder Swan one and the Dreamcast version.
Game play 7/10: As the name implies, you are Mr. Driller and you must use your drill once again to save earth some how because all the other drills are too lazy. So off you go as you try to drill toward your goal. In the game you will also need to collect oxygen tanks to live, as that is your hp refiller since you are constantly losing oxygen. You can die by either lack of oxygen or being squashed to death. Most likely you will be squashed to death for most deaths. Note: do not drill the brown boxes with an X through them, they will drain your oxygen like crazy.
Controls 8/10: All you use is 3 different buttons in the game. The D-pad is for moving, the A button is for drilling, and the start button is for starting the game.
Length 6/10: Since this is a puzzle game it has no ending. You can replay each stage as much as you like until you get a record you are pleased with. However to do each stage, well that might take days or weeks since it is kind of is a pain to stay alive when ou have to drill 2000 M.
Extras: In the game there is store options where you can buy more stuff to make the game easier. For example you could have 5 lives instead of the normal 3 that you start with or that oxygen tanks give you + 1.5 more oxygen then normal.
The game is not really worth buying however if you like puzzle games or Mr. Driller then get it. Other then hose reasons it is not worth your money since you could easily find a cheaper copy of the game on an older system for a lot less then the Ds copy.
