SNK vs. Capcom Card Fighters DS
Review by JF7X
"Plays like Magic and Naruto"
Snk vs. Capcom Card Fighter Ds is the sequel to the Neo Geo pocket Card Fighter's games except with more characters, better graphics, and a different battle style. Now I have never played the original two copies so I don't know how they work however according to other people it is a lot better then this game. Personally I think the is pretty fun because of all characters who you thought was going to be in and those who you didn't think could be in. Anyways the story line is about how your friend's (Kaito) dad is abducted by the Card Fighter's main computer in the card fighter tower. Now you must go rescue him along with Kaito and Rico (your other friend).
Game play 7/10: For some reason, I'm assuming SNK Playmore decided to take ideas from every kid card game and mash them into one, under the Capcom/ SNK name. Anyways you start out with 2000 life point's. Obviously if you reach 0 you lose. Next is how to play out the cards. You start out with 3 white balls in your "mana pool". Now you look trough your hand for a card that requires wither 1,2 or 3 white balls and play them out. Once you play a card they have summoning sickness. After that you end your turn. Your opponent does the same and ends his/her turn. Now when it comes back to you you will get a white ball back and a different color ball depending on what color you played out (example: you played out a Q Bee who is a yellow orbed card for 1 white ball. On your next turn you get a white ball and a yellow ball because of that). If you played no creatures then you just get a white ball and you draw normally. In the game you can also discard for different colored balls to play other spells or character cards. For attacking, it requires you to "tap" the creature. So then you would have to plan out when and who to attack with. You can also attack with as many creatures as you wish. As for the hand size, I think its either 8 or 7 be fore you have to forcefully discard. Though out the game you just walk around the room defeating each playing and a boss to gain money to buy new cards and to advance to the next floor. As for music/ sound there isn't much.
Length 6/10: The game has 7 floors with in the tower however each dual can vary.
Controls 8/10: You don't really use the stylus in the game. You mostly use The A button to confirm tings and the B button to go back. You only use the stylus to end your turn, attack, and defend.
So is it worth? I think so if you like card games in general. Many people however say it's crap just because it's not like the old versions.
