The Incredibles: Rise of the Underminer

Review by Crazymaori

"Wow... not worth the money...."

I picked this game up beginning of last year for $80 dollars. Took it home to my grandparents, played it for two - two and a half hours and I had clocked it completely. I was quite, uh, lets say "annoyed" when I found that I had clocked the short game. I could have spent that money on a way better, more longer game.

The game starts off where the movie "The Incredibles" left off: Rise of The Underminer." You even start at the carpark where Dash has just won his running cup. Its up to you to go after the Underminer, and playing as Mr Incredible and Frozone, regarded as the best Super dou still alive, you gonna get to him without breaking a sweat.

Gameplay

Well, the game play in this is quite hard to pick up. Playing as Mr. Incredible is more to do with strength, endurance and throwing the little attacking machines. Frozone is more to do with speed, agility and reaction time, so you know what enviroments you need the Super for.

With just over 9 levels to clock, its really not that hard to make your way through little robots that you can defeat with two of Frozone's ice balls, and he has very low attack stats. The levels are pretty straight forward, there is usually only one way to take, so you have no choice of which way to take, except for the obvious one. So you aren't going to get lost anytime soon, which adds boredom to it.

Graphics

Well, with 2 Dimensional graphics for a new-generation console, they aren't very good. And with Frozone's ice spray, it can also hurt your eyes with the brightness of the sleet. I think with the technology nowadays, they could have did better with this game's graphics.

Sound

With the ever-so-boring "background" music, and the common "ugh" when you character gets injured, they quite blatently suck. The background music sucks and it gets annoying after ten minutes of listening to it, every minute you are destined to hear a "ugh" by someone you injured or someone you have injured, so its not that interesting to listen to.

Overall

Overall, this gets a two out of ten. It gets the award of "The Worst Game at that Price" ever. I wish I could have refunded my money, it was not worth the $80 dollars that I payed. To be honest, don't pay anything over $10 dollars for it. YOu will clock it in 2 hours tops.
