The Sims 2
Review by kookykitti33
"This is the best- *FREEZES*"
This was a great looking game. Make a hotel? Yay! Design hotel rooms, paint pictures, make songs, fight crime? Double Yay! Then, only 7 minutes into the game, it froze on me. I had to re-start the entire game, I lost all my data, and I had to watch the starting dialogue all over again. That's a bad omen.
Story- 5/10
Totally random, unrelevent to any other Sims game. You are driving in an old western town, complete with cacti, old store fronts and an old man in overalls and a straw hat. Your car breaks down, the man tells you he can fix it but you will have to wait. You walk over to the hotel, which is convienently about 3 feet away, and enter, seeing another man with an incredibly ugly hat on asleep on his desk. Not a good sign. He wakes up to tell you that his boss quit, and he has been sleeping there since. He notices that the hotel power is off, and asks you to go down to the basement and turn on the furnace. When you come back up and the power is on, Honest Jackson, the mayor of the town, (or street, rather) walks in. When the desk man tells him what happened, Honest Jackson becomes loopy. You must Restrain him. After he is restrained, he asks you to please be the new manager of the hotel. You have no choice. He shows you the manager's suite, and your life in Strangetown begins.
Graphics- 6/10
Pretty good. Somewhere between animation and 3 demensional. It would have gotten a better score from me if the girls in the town didn't have square- looking boobs.
Sound- 4/10
Very annoying. The townspeople talk in simtalk, which is the language for all sims games. It is better in the Playstaition game, they talk quieter and the vocabulary is larger. The background music depends on where you are, and in most places it is annoying. In the daytime, the same song plays almost everywhere, and I find it just a little unsettleing.
Re- Playability 2/10
I think there is absoulutly no reason to play this game over again unless you find it fun to spend half the play time doing nothing but looking around for anything to sell for cash. the minigames are stupid to me and earn you little money, if none at all.
Overall Quality 4/10
The game freezes quite frequently, especaily in the elevator. EA Games could have done better. I didn't like this game. I would not suggest buying it. If you really thought it looked fun, you could rent it. Just remember to save frequently. (As in, like every 2 minutes).
